  1. Heard today there will be a few GB ONLY Demo cars available for serious(rich?) punters to trial & orders are being taken for 2009! Tel Ps/Ofcourse some may pay a Premium!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Space Savers can be used on all 4 corners But must be used carefully for journeys preferably not exceeding 50 miles & 50mph. Tel
  3. Dependant on your Television spec. the up-grade will be well worth it:if you have a HD Dvd player & HDMI cable the images played are truly remarkable. Tel
  4. Am I reading these posts correct as Toyo do not offer a complete range of tyres for the IS250 eg,I need 18/255/40 for my rears not thinner tyres that will marginally offer a better ride & lower noise level? Tel.
  5. Travel on the Continent regularly & have never altered my lights for years:simply use them responsibly. Tel
  6. Run 38psi all round & tyre-wear is relatively good & even. c.down to 5mm. after 12000 miles. Always inflate & set @ home. Tel
  7. Twice due to a set of circumstances I have changed from 17" to 18" &,if anything, the MPG has risen as the car has "run-in".I do not drive slow in the UK yet my Auto returns c. 32mpg. Suggest your car needs more mods! Tel
  8. Always had Fully Synthetic in mine & my local Dealer does not use the "recommended" semi-derivative:never needed to top-up & I cruise @ 3 figure speeds on the Continent. The IS 350 "Engine Rattle" is specific to that engine,no issues on the 250 whatsoever to my knowledge. Tel
  9. According to my Hand-Book the 250 auto is NOT recommended for towing due to the gearing:has the spec chaged on the latest models? Tel
  10. Mine has 18" 225/40 on the Front & 18" 255/40 on the Rear.Dunlop SP Maxx.Ride better than the 17" version & quiet. Tel
  11. Trust me ,Jamboo you can never ever be accused of whinging as it is clear your car has imperfect build issues that ,to date, evade full resolution & frustrate the hell out of you & zap your confidence. What I do not understand is your Technicians have Noise Detection Kit @ their disposal that measures both frequency, intensity &,there-by relative location so that demonstration persay is not mandatory & they are very aware that interior fastnings that "cannot be silenced" MUST be replaced by new in case of the dash & parcel shelf whereas the seat is so basic I offer no comment. As stated previously,if I can help you any further I will. Tel
  12. Due to an oversight yesterday I ended up in a brand-new 220d when I took my car in for it's 20k. Service. IMHO the Deisel is a completely different product to the 250 AUTO & is aimed @ the Fleet Market where the majority of Drivers will be urged to drive conservatively in-line with Company Image etc. H/w my road test------ 1.The clutch has to be buried in the carpet to Start. 2.The gear change is a tad agricultural. 3.1st. gear is too short,6th. is too long whilst 2/3/4/5 offer superb acceleration. 4.Ride/Handling "heavier" than my Auto despite my 18" combo. 5.Build Quality ------ superb. 6.SEL-spec missed. 7.Thraped---34.5 mpg. 8.Driven gently----- 44mpg, both based on the On-board Computer. 9.Mirror suffered from v.v. slight vibration. 10.Conclusion----really a different car aimed @ a different Market as every other Lexus derivative falls into the Creamy Smooth Point & Squirt Category! Whilst awaiting my car's valet, a C 180d Merc driver spoke to me saying although he loved getting 50mpg he really missed Lexus Quality & could not wait to return to the Marque provided he got something for his 8k. of Xtras that the Sales guy had just told him were really worth very little . Relatively, then, Lexus VFM is stonking compared to the German Cars & deliver Bullet- proof reliability too. Tel
  13. Superb:proud to be a member of a very professional yet so friendly Club! Tel
  14. I could have taken my Yaris BUT then you end up not daring to use the Lexus for most occasions.Like many I always park well away from the general area of any car park & walk miles if necessary BUT in Hotels all I can do is hog the end of a row & prey a 4x4 with kids does not park next to me! Use the Lexus all over Europe & never experienced a car so close! On another point, with the parking sensors on all round, judging a closing gap is fine But passing a narrow gap can be hairy as the continuous tone only judges 6" or less.In consequence, the PDC's always beep on the Shuttle as I pass the Loos & in all tight situations ofcourse. In 5 years(my IS 300 had PDC's all round) I have trusted their accuracy but always wondered how close I really was to those parked cars or the wall exiting the underground City car park. Frankly, owning any bigger Lexus model would be frightening although I would be only too happy to rise to the challenge & go back to the Ferries & suffer agro parking over the white lines! Tel
  15. Just returned from Harrogate where the Hotel we stayed in had very limited Parking Space & the slots that were available were just wide enough if you parked dead centre! When I parked there was no-one in the space to the left of me but that space was only suitable for a Mini as the next car to the left was well over "his" white line.Fast Forward some 8 hrs.& imagine my shock when I saw an Audi A4 Estate had squeezed into the space leaving a gap of c.6" between my n/side & his o/side!!!!!!!!!In pouring rain, I checked & could not see any damage whatsoever to my car, took his reg.no & thought I would move my car fairly early this morning & re-check my car for damage. The Audi driver could not have used either of his front doors to exit & I was surprised to find his back seat was in the upright position as this,to me,was his only possible exit/entry route. Got up this morning, confirmed all was well with mine, went to get my cases & the Audi had gone revealing the narrow space & no damage to the car on his near-side either that had strayed over "his" line. Close call :the Audi driver was a decent chap after all & fit as a butcher's dog to scramble from the rear hatch to the drivers seat unless you have any ideas? Tel
  16. And the good thing is the MPG will improve with time--mine is now c.34 which is really impressive given I do DRIVE the car. I honestly beleive the transmission gradually gets smoother too which must help. Tel
  17. A Stunning Car that prompted everyone I showed it to "to say wow!" If you need a rapid 4-Seater Luxury car there is nothing on the Market to better it(mine is a 2 seater by comparison & a poor one @ that). Acheived 23 mpg over 65miles:pity they sorted my car so quick as my friends, who I took to Amsterdam, would have been well chuffed as the rear accomodation is even better than the front if you know what I mean with massage facility etc. Pity it costs 71k. ------Still it was great & so nice to be given the opportunity to "own it for the Day" Tel
  18. After 21mnths. my main key failed but the spare was fine:I had the batteries replaced in the dead unit & it has worked fine ever since. Tel Ps/Always carry both when I visit Europe of-course. Tel
  19. Driving home from work Dash suddenly lit-up like a Xmas tree with the car running normally.Pulled over as soon as possible to confim the VSC had failed prompting 3 associated warning lights. Rang Derby from the car &,once there, they diagnosed one of the 4 Oxygen Senors had failed.(car drove normally even though it was in "Safe-Mode" which caps the Rev-range). As they had to order-in the new part to be fitted the next day &; my visit was unscheduled; I was surprised & delighted to be loaned for 30 hrs.a Lexus GB LS 460 SEL with all the toys which was just amazing clearly confirming Lexus Service really is "Beyond Expectation". Foot-Note/Just been to Amsterdam for the week-end :mpg was 34.5 @ near 3-figure speeds which is impressive. Tel
  20. The vast majority of New IS owners are thrilled with their cars & the envy of most motorists:the 2nd generation IS is a significant improvement over the Mk 1 in smoothness , refinement & economy. Dear Jamboo's car was /is a Lemon, that defies logic, given numerous repairs by Lexus. Tel
  21. Given Jamboo's rotten luck & that of a few others I would like to know if there is a Factory Theme i.e. Tahara's can have issues whereas TMK cars are basically bug-free or vice-versa ofcourse? This would then explain why there was such a difference in build from the start as I know of 3 early- build IS250's (mine included) that have not suffered the dreaded Dash Rattle yet Jamboo certainly has with his IS220 built c. 6mnths after the above! Tel
  22. My understanding is that the price will be 50k. plus & only 150 are going to be imported by GB. I would die for one but,in the same body colour & trim combination as my Sel(with front & rear spoilers) would it really be that much better in normal driving :sadly I think not:suppose the only answer for us all is to emmigrate to the States! Tel
  23. My TomTom system has no visible wires thanks to my Lexus Guru @ Derby & diplays all the incoming calls in my phone book which I assume is same as the MM System(?). As it has voice recognition for Directions, does anyone know if the 720/920 can be set-up to link with my voice-tag nos.which I assume MM does? Thanks! Tel
  24. If the plate is not 100% legal you can be "pulled" & told to replace with a legal set within 7 days:failure to do so can result in the car being "taken" off the road". Most Boy Racers in my local area have legal rather than show plates because of the above! Tel
