  1. Please note there are still 'new' Model Year 10 cars out there! Tel
  2. Why is it that all high performance saloons like ours have front wheel arches that are higher than those @ the rear relative to the tyre? Tel
  3. There are better people than me in the Club who know the exact changes but I believe year 10 covered the above whilst year 11 introduced changes to trim, instruments, audio, suspension & steering to make the ride smoother whilst enhancing the car's road holding to make it seconds faster around the Worlds Race Tracks.A new body colour was added along with DRL's & a second wheel option with DAB standard. Tel
  4. 3500 Mile Report. Mpg < 10miles c.22.5,c.20miles = 24.5 & c.100 motorway miles @ high speed 28.5 all based on actual consumption as I regularly do these specific journeys. Coolant warm-up from sub-zero temperatures is rapid. Poorboys excels. No brake-dust whatsoever on the lower front bodywork & no roadrash. Tyre pressures now raised to 38 psig.as I do use the performance more but have never exceeded c. 4500 rpm as I have never used the "tiptronic" for a journey as,in Auto, the car accelerates like a scalded cat! Tel
  5. What model year is a key factor & tire pressures as Dealers can set them high for mega speed! Tel
  6. Dab reception is crystal clear in the Midlands ,London & the South but travel to the East Coast & FM is the only option, I have heard that Dab performance is very hit & miss with many people disappointed----mine equals the Denon System in the front room, Tel
  7. Re-brake dust Thanks to Tango have used Poorboys Wheel Sealant since day 1 & cleaning has never been easier to keep the precious wheels mint & that has included a fast trip to the south of France. As for the side bodywork brake dust has never been an issue which I find puzzling. Tel
  8. From memory does not the change from Auto to Manual always select Auto-selected gear as I have never given this a thought but use this all the time on the Continent. Tel
  9. 3000 Mile Report. MPG----c.5 Miles urban 23.5,30 Miles 25.0,50 Miles plus on Motorways 29.0. Water Temp.from cold is rapid, oil temp rise to normal is much longer. Use performance more than expected when overtaking ,motorway slip- roads/lane changing. Not exceeded 4500rpm. Rear Passengers on long trip were very complimentary about the ride/cabin. Car continues to attract "attention"---plumber @ Filling Station drooled over the car, asked more ?'s than JD Power even when he returned to his van & then put petrol in his Diesel----the air was blue! 4 guys in a BMW 335i stayed around me on the M1 & continued as "we" exited onto dual carriage-way.I kept to the limit some 100 meters behind in the fast lane, their exit lane slowed &, with all 4 seemingly checking the ISF, rode over the verge @ the top of the slip-road---stupid! Porsche drivers seem to be intimidated by the car. Not seen another IS with DRL's. Tel
  10. My 2011 ISF has DAB & Mark Lev, contrary to the above, & I understood ML does come with the SEL if you specify the PCS System. Tel
  11. Hopes dashed but thanks again ------I cannot believe I am the only person who misses this feature! Tel
  12. Thank you so much for your help but the Auto Answer feature is vehicle based, as described by Tango above, but when they changed to HDD Navigation in 2010 Model Year they appear to have omitted this key feature----Lexus GB have yet to reply to Derby-----I will let you know. Tel
  13. Phone is Nokia C7 & Auto Answer is a facility I have used for years. Tel
  14. Derby have excelled again in that we have confirmed this a.m. that the latest MM Systems do not appear to support this key Safety Feature---Lexus GB have been asked to confirm or otherwise so we shall see------Thanks! Tel
  15. So glad I did not take the Tracker Option I was offered as it seems you are @ the mercy of the Installer & their Back-up Service which can only be assumed until an issue arises-----one phone call should be enough to locate your Tracker! Tel
  16. Tango, My Page 158 is a Certificate of Conformity & there is no Auto -Answer Page in the H/Book!Assume your Access SOP for Auto Answer would work for me(?) Lexus Derby have a new 2010 ISF in the Showroom ----I will ask them to help too. Thanks! Tel
  17. My SEL auto answered my incoming calls after a few seconds but the same phone in the ISF does not & the H/book is no help.Anyone know how to activate this option please? Tel
  18. I have experience of 5 Lexus Dealers who would never state a "new" sale would exclude interior faults. Tel
  19. Only a very small percentage of launch 250's had the potential to rattle due to initial design issues with trim clips-my 2005 reqd.a new console surround to fix my only rattle,my'58 plate was perfect from day1 so,too,my new ISF. JD Power Surveys say it all,IS 250's are simply the best car you can buy. Visit the German Auto Forums to confirm the above! Tel
  20. 2200 Mile Report----- a)mpg averaging 28 b)the Digital Speedo is really easy to use. c)In weak DAB signal areas e.g.Lincolnshire Wolds, rapid acceleration garbles signal. d)Poorboys continues to excel. e)Friends continue to be amazed @ the application of the performance, all saying the overall experience is so smooth. f)Mates Cooper S is less economical. Tel
  21. Your recommended Poorboys really works on the BBS wheels :any experience of Angelwax for the body which is free if you subscribe to EVO Magazine? Thanks! Tel
  22. 1650 Mile Report---- Just returned from France,a round trip of 1400 miles. Overall mpg 28 @ an average speed of 70mph. In the UK,the average speed was 66,the consumption from Folkestone to Derby was 30.6 mpg. In France, the average speed was 78,the maximum was a short blast @ 120mph,& the average consumption was 27.8. The Shuttle space was tight due to the raised bonnet impairing judjment slightly. Poorboys worked perfectly. Nil oil consumption and no Road Rash which was a real bonus as all my previous bib spoilers were marked. DAB remains excellent in the UK-----no such service in France. IMHO a superb car. Tel
  23. For 2012, Lexus has fitted wider 8.5J front wheels & 245 wide tyres which is said to benefit track performance in particular----I did say my ride was almost too good for a super saloon albeit with tyres inflated to 37psig! Tel
  24. 400 mile report------non-motorway mpg c.25.5,DAB excellent,Poorboys wax ordered:front brake dust is surprising considering I am not someone who has ever consumed pads e.g. on an IS SE & Sport pads were changed c.45K, 95% of which was on the M1. Tel
