  1. Would you say our wheels are corrosion- proof as I have never seen a complaint whereas the Italian 250 wheels can corrode.Assume most of us are using Poorboys which obviously helps. Tel
  2. I pay £430 for Lexus Insurance which covers everything with little excess. Tel
  3. A 15 month EVO Mag offer this month includes a £36 Meguiar's NXT Wash & WAX kit which is a no brainer to my mind if the Mag is for you. It was their Long-Term ISF Reports & this Forum that helped me to decide to get my ISF over the German rivals & the Lexus VFM was so convincing when looking into long-term ownership/reliability etcetera. EVO has just taken delivery of a new RS4:( which I seriously considered until I looked @ the Options List/Life Costs & winced) & returned said vehicle to Audi with serious concerns over a Knocking Noise from the front end as confirmed by their local Audi Dealer.Audi GB replaced the car immediately with an even higher-specified RS4 that also had the same fault when running on normal roads so GB's Solution was anxiously awaited. Audi have concluded that the noise is due to the Dampers fitted to the RS4 & they are supposed to sound like that! Unbelievable ----no wonder we stick to Lexus! Tel
  4. Thanks to this Site I am a M-nut as all their products excel &, coupled with Poorboys for the wheels, the car is mint. However I have just found that Ultimate Polish is more difficult to use @ 8 degrees C as it hazes ok but, when polished off, spreads @ the edge of the application area thus requiring further buffing preferably with their cloths which ensure a very even spread. Woven cotton cloths work well in warmer temperatures but are not efficient @ low temperatures with polymer waxes. Tel
  5. I have always used Supermarket fuel in the UK & Branded on the Continent & am pleased with the MPG to date. However, was informed last week that the latest BP 95 can give a 10% improvement on SM fuels albeit 3p/litre dearer-------worth trying?? Tel
  6. R is arbitrary but Range takes account of driving style--------used Range many times but never drove a Lexus on Empty---too risky. Tel
  7. Assume you both use the Range info to be confident you wont grind to a halt as I have driven to 30 miles left but,as Tango says, did not due the sums! Tel
  8. 6400 Mile Report Xtra HD Nav has different intersection commands & route display & does highlight all mini roundabouts now. Seat Heaters are for the complete seat. Brake Wear is 12.5% & Tyre wear is < 1.00mm Local ASDA Store no longer interferes with DAB signal after Station Retune to another Group of Signals. Tel
  9. Googled Lexus Owners Sites & liked what was on offer! Tel
  10. 6400 Mile Winter Report---- 10 mile urban mpg has risen to 24.5 which is excellent. East Coast DAB coverage is now good. HD Nav option seems to give more split-screen junctions. Now know how to operate Normal Cruise Control in dense traffic. Beautifully Built-----nothing else comes close! Tel
  11. No it is not an issue----however I assume the tyre report did not high-light the difference or am i being unfair! Tel
  12. The difference is c. 15mph on the lower speed rating which is fine as 166mph is way above the UK speed limit----my feeling is the Dealer was penny-pinching! Tel
  13. If you have the DRL's just switch on the side lights &/or run on dip although this defeats the primary purpose! Tel
  14. As Tango, no spec or cost comparison is silly given the"lower" M3 costs significantly more to own! Tel
  15. Is there anything in the spec that confirms its a 2012 model as Bristol do have other goodies they could have easily substituted. e.g DVD headrests? Tel
  16. Unbelievable-what does your Dealer say as all GB ISF',s have DAB fitted @ Bristol on arrival from Japan! Tel
  17. Larger diameter wheels have lower profile tires that are stiffer in compression thereby giving a slightly stiffer ride whilst the suspension remains the same height but their combined diameter is larger better filling the wheel arch which, to most Petrol Heads, looks much better. Tel
  18. Marginal negative difference to the ride that is completely off-set by the vehicle stance when the wheel arch is filled. Tel
  19. Never had an issue with oil consumption including my ISF. I would say that oil usage over 10000 miles is measured on the dipstick as negligible as the oil "used" is replaced by the products of combustion------done c.250000 miles & has remained constant. Tel
  20. My 2011 model has ventilated heated cushions & back-rest & the sills are illuminated. The Nav appears to up-date with different "voice prompts" & split 3D junction screens but, as this has only just started, I await further evidence----assume the shark-fin has something to do with it ? Tel
  21. In Normal, the cruise is set to the desired speed &,within reason, you can accelerate or brake as normal or electronically. However, on the M42, my cruise speed was reduced by 50% &,@ the flick of a switch, shot back to 100% which just surprised me @ the time. Radar Cruise is much more gentle but the auto braking is a surprise when first experienced as the vehicle in front brakes sharply. Still I averaged 30mg over a 230 mile trip to Cheltenham & the surrounding countryside which is excellent for a powerful V8. Tel
  22. Have used C.C. for years for high-speed cruising on the Continent &, in the UK, for Traffic Management Systems & the odd mid-night run to the Shuttle. However, driving through Birmingham last night in dense traffic restricted to a reasonable 60 mph due to "fog patches" I had to slow quickly to 30mph when a muppet suddenly changed lanes. The concertina effect was over in seconds-----I touched resume & the car rapidly returned to 60mph which surprised me as I have never experienced such a big reduction before when driving electronically----food for thought when shooting through Italy @ 110 on Cruise. Be aware. Tel
  23. 5000 Mile Report Other drivers reaction to the car are amazing----many fast cars close right up then back-off a few feet whilst the odd Boy Racer in his ST/VXR has to pass no matter what. If the car is parked on the drive passing vehicles often slow down & 3 Delivery Drivers have stopped to drool. Jamie,Louise & Graham of Lexus Derby continue to excel & my supply Dealer in the West Midlands offered to collect my car for its for the first service. Maguires new Super-wax , the DRLs & clean wheels lift the Slate to new heights. Remains treacle smooth. Tel
  24. Car goes into Derby next week for a new cushion & cover to be fitted by a Recaro Seat Specialist. GB/Derby excel once more. Tel
