  1. The Key Issue with the UK Reviews is they love the Build, the handling/ride combo & the CVT in Towns & on Motorways & the potential running costs then charge into the Countryside in Tiptronic Sport & dislike its different nature which is so foreign to the German opposition. I have had my F-Sport for 2 weeks in D- Mode & its power delivery is perfect & matches my previous SEL's nippiness when overtaking, moving from traffic light stops etc..-----------& I get c.53 mpg driving it as I did my ISF-------truly amazing & such a looker too! Tel
  2. My wife has her front seat right back & does not have an issue & believes the lidded cup holder may be less comfortable----wonder what the Americans have concluded?. Tel
  3. Auto Mirrors are fitted to my F-Sport & my current m.p.g is c. 47 with a 30 mile return journey of 54.8 mpg. The Mode is D & I drive it like I drove my ISF & am impressed with the acceleration given the F was rapid-------cannot wait to set Sport when it has been run-in. Tel
  4. Anyone know why 300h. Servicing is 10000miles p.a. for Privateers & 120000 p.a. for Businessmen! Tel
  5. ISF v. F-Sport------4-Days in! My ISF was a 2011 M.Y. which had significant developments over the previous cars & the ride was far more Road as opposed to Track orientated.Consequently,as the tires are the 18" inch version of my 19", the 300h F-Sport urban ride is the same. The handling seems better because turn-in is So Sharpe & the car itself is so Tight. Brakes are good but my ISF,s were top of the Premier League. Voice Activation is so far simple & straight forward provided you repeat the screen prompts. The Lexus Laptop Navigation Suite is impressive in that, when Auto Zoom is switched off, & a Destination set, every turn is said by naming the next road @ 100 metres then, @ 50, the Road Name itself is on a drop-down tag Twice cars have sat behind me & passed me slowly. The Sales Brochure & the Showroom Spec.List sell the cars short yet,the Germans charge £0000's to match. I am assuming mpg is good.-----altered my Start -up screen in D. so the Nav. is displayed not fuel data Boot snaps shut from 3" closure----perfect. Tel
  6. 120 Mile Report. Auto Mirror Fold facility is available from the Custom Options but is not practical if garage space is tight. The Boot is significantly larger than my Isf version & longer than my SEL. The Nav is much more advanced in that it can easily be programmed by Voice,it names every turn, shows No Entry signs on all the exits bar "yours",monitors all cameras & excess speed,& so much more . The DAB is perfect. Keeping it in Drive for the First 600 Miles. Compressor in Boot. Ride---no difference from my ISF "2". Handling--------in many ways better! Tel
  7. Initial Report ---Day 2. Is stunning in Mercury Grey in the flesh. Vault -like Build Quality. In D, is swift & frugal.------48mpg to date. Connectivity with Apple/Windows 8 is instant. Voice Recognition for all needs appears SO simple to "command". Earily Quiet. Lexus i-Phone in Dynamic Form!. Tel
  8. Japan & USA------- is available in the UK as the 2014 car is BTO. Tel ps/price has increased in the US!
  9. Great to see that Lexus are continuing with the Isf for 2014! Carbon Fibre rear spoiler, LED fog lights & trim changes are the highlights & if you were to choose to order one red leather would be an option------fabulous! Tel
  10. Matt, As you say timing is everything & the IS F-Sport was sitting in the Showroom with 18" 10-Spoke alloys shod with 35/255 rear tires./nav/leather/ML in Mercury Grey/Black interior. it was month-end & my Supercar was glued to my side. The rest is history.& am gradually changing to Eco Power Mode. Tel
  11. Couple of points-----the ISFesq Auto G/box is only fitted to the latest IS350. The CVT transmission in Auto/sport is syrupy smooth so why bother with Paddle Mode. Eco Mode is Prius,Sport Mode is for Eco Power Warriors like me-----if I get mid-40's I will be thrilled. Tel
  12. In Sport Mode, the 300h F-Sport is a decent performer & is the most powerful IS in the Uk. & will still return excellent fuel consumption. In F- format, the 300h.looks the part & the drive is SO creamy smooth it has taken the model up-stage yet again in ambiance, Build Quality.,ride & handling. CVT in Auto was fine & I never experienced any lag so, for me, it is a return to a more conservative yet spirited drive. My ISF will be forever the best small performance saloon on the Planet & any direct comparison with my new ride is futile. Tel
  13. I am saying goodbye to my beautiful F for 4 reasons!!!!! One of my kids needs help. F has held it's value surprisingly well as there have been very few " Mk2" registrations. Commuting on motorways was so exciting my licence could so easily be lost----silly I know, but so hard to resist in the twilight hours. In Mercury Grey, the 300h F-Sport is stunning & there is reference to the LFA to constantly remind me of my ISF whilst generating cash for the above! Sleepless nights are so challenging-----excitement & sadness in heaps are the probable reason as the Deal all happened in 24hrs! Tel
  14. Colin, I am very surprised the new 2.5 V6 has such poor economy as that is a step backwards! Tel
  15. I have driven the 300h & it is a lovely up-market Prius that I pray will give good economy as it is the replacement for the 220d . Why they did not pair it with the latest 2.5 V6 is beyond me as it is now the second Lexus Hybrid not to be geared to performance which is a mistake as Toyota follow this strategy and their Auris is a looker too! Tel
  16. 8000 Mile Report,Year 2 Now use Branded Petrol which smooths the engine. Brake wear is 15% with tyre wear 10% across the main footprint & 15% on all 4 corners. Halfords now supply a spare bulb kit for the ISF for my Continental Trips later this year. Taken out a 5 Year Service Plan that saves 15% on normal prices & includes a further 10% discount on Parts,is transferable & all monies accrued between Services fully refundable. Lexus Derby continue to excel & speedily resolved my heartache when I clipped a concrete plinth with my O/S/R wheel (£50) & my bike dented a door when the bikes deflated tyre caused the bike to lean overnight in its stand & then fall into the car!!!!(£65) Fuji White interior Mint helped by Maguires ofcourse. Fantastic & so, so smooth with quite remarkable fuel efficiency. Tel
  17. I have driven 2 others & seen 2 others on the road. Driven the 2008 ex.Top Gear Red ISF & an extended test in an Open Road 2011 Black ISF. An early Silver ISF traveled in the opposite direction to me 500 yards from my home & ,in Vegas, took a photo of an ISF that had 14 Spoke Wheels,Red trim,& Ti -Grey Paint. Genuine enthusiastic reactions to my car continue with investigative "interviews" in " Sea-side Car parks & a Petrol Station near Stratford the latest. Superb. Tel
  18. Iphone 5 connected & transferred without issue-------see U-Tube for confirmation! Tel
  19. Assume your insurance does not include Continental Travel?. Restricting Annual mileage, along with age, is also key to reducing costs. Tel
  20. My tyres are Bridgestones with Outside printed on them so if the technician knows the spec which includes corner specific with the bladed wheel thick-edge -trailing & different sizes front & rear, replacement should not be an issue. The Handbook states this,Lexus Derby Parts no-less knows this as he has recently supplied wheels for someone(different Part Nos etc) so any tyres or wheels fitted by Lexus incorrectly have really screwed -up which is simply unacceptable. Tel
  21. Please remember the wheels are corner specific! Tel
  22. All mine are "trailing thick-edge" if this helps. Tel
  23. On your advice I used Supaguard Wheel Protection as advised by my BMW mate & then applied Poorboys from week 1 as I was facing a 2k French Trip in the first month of ownership. On arrival @ my Brother-in Laws in Burgundy the Front wheels were near black but cleaned-up perfectly with my wheel kit of large & small large tooth-brushes.-both he & I were impressed as I had said this was a potential issue that had been responded to in the US but not the UK! Since then I have always kept the wheels clean using Supaguard then Poor boys removing all dust from the corners which comes-off easily except for the odd stubborn particle which I remove with a nylon scourer very easily-------I have done 7k & will be going to France in Autumn which will be another test of my "cleaning system". I will price-up the Ceramics in Vegas in the interim but @ this point in-time my wheels are mint. Tel
