  1. Differ from the above-------D-mode is perfect for 90% of the time given Sport can & does take the car to another level of performance @ the expense of some fuel. Swifter & smoother than all previous IS models it was these qualities, together with rock solid handling, that persuaded me to let go of my wonderful ISF. Tel
  2. Drive to the road conditions & you will be fine , Wider, lower profile tyres are not ideal for snow & ice & the Snow Mode does dampen responsiveness when engaged. Tel
  3. My ISF was superb & great for Continental holidays but for 95% of the time it just purred along in the congested UK confined to the odd spurt past a tractor or caravan queue in the countryside. Changed to the 300h Sport which is swift in Sport Mode whilst halving running costs. I miss the superb V8 burble, its performance & the Brembo Brakes but am content as An Eco Warrior . Tel
  4. Had 3 cars replaced due to foreign noise issues the last being a Lexus that had a "crisp bag being crushed" from behind the glove box on urban roadways with the service repairs that traverse the road. Lexus were excellent & replaced the car after 4 months of testing. Tel
  5. My car is on a Service Plan & I have only done c.8K miles in 2 years & my Technicians are expert in the Product. In year 1 I visited France & Switzerland & in year 2 France & Italy so low milage per say is not an issue @ all. Tel
  6. Spirited drive to the East Coast 46.5 mpg using D & S-Modes. Return trip same until hit very heavy traffic 10 miles from home & for the first time ever glided in Eco to complete the 95 mile commute-----49.5 mpg. Perfect. Tel
  7. There is an excellent guide in this Forum that lists the Hybrid driving style that minimises fuel consumption. I follow the spirit on long runs & see real benefit if I keep to 75mph or below. Those drivers who religiously stick to the Hybrid Methodology in Eco Mode achieve 60+ mpg. Coming from an ISF my style & resultant mpg is perfect with Sports treacly smooth mode an added bonus. Tel
  8. Geoff, You were driving on mixed roads & not in Hybrid-Mode so your mpg is fine.I find on a 90 Mile Motorway run I get c. 48.5 mpg . Same journey in Hybrid-Mode c.58 mpg & that stays the same for High-speed Continental runs. I love swishing around the countryside & dominating Lane 3 but never exceed 75mph & adopt Hybrid-Mode & c. 60 is easily achievable. Tel
  9. I have driven @ high speeds on the Continent & have almost zero Road Rash after 2 Years but I never Tailgate 7 always have Meguiars on. I wax & Poorboys the wheels & it is these that are susceptible to Rash in my experience. Tel
  10. Rayaan, A mit or a sponge drags grit across the paintwork whereas a soft brush soaked in good detergent mobilises the grit and sweeps it away and you rinse the brush in your second bucket of clear water negating damage.Pefectionists use running water for the clear water phase & you will be amazed how much grit is in the bottom of the rinse bucket. Sponge & Mits are old school as are chamois leather but using a Meguiars microsoft towel depends on absolute cleanliness to ensure no scratches. My ISF was very dark grey whereas my F-Sport is mid-grey & both pass the"fluorescent " light test using my method which we all agreed in the Club years ago. White cars tend to hide surface scratches so you are not aware of the potential damage your method could cause. Tel
  11. 2 years & no issues whatsoever but the car is mercury grey & I clean with a brush & dry with a Meguires Towel BUT always clean & dry from the centre of the applied film thereby pushing all grime away from the edges. Tel
  12. The latest Version C is very good & a huge advance on the previous 7 Versions------my Milan" warning of the severe weather" we were driving into that day really made me smile. I am an Apple nut & Version C is near the Motoring equivalent & D will be even better----- I have yet to have a Device that does not have to be updated the second you get Home . My daughters Audi & Disco are Dickensian by comparison. Tel
  13. My IS is best described as swift, particularly in Sport-mode when both on-board motors are in sync producing 231bhp from the 320 bhp available. The car certainly is "faster" my previous IS 300 & IS 250's & its smooth delivery surprises all non-hybrid peeps on most occasions & can give good economy if driven in Hybrid Mode. Like Darren I need to understand why it feels more than the stated bhp! Tel
  14. Derby use Independent Wheel Repairers that have done a first class job in the past for me on my ISF which had a less glossy color combo than my 300h wheels! The wheel color spec. is fixed & Lexus warrant the repair. Simple! Tel
  15. Michael, I have 2 cans of rubber solution which came with the car along with bottles of waxes. These cans are bigger than the ones on sale in Halfords but are so easy to access & use if needed as they inflate to 35 psi. Essential if you are on a long journey with a full boot of luggage. Of note, around Lake Garda I saw a few RX /CT vehicles,5 IS 300h and red & black Telsa. Tel
  16. David, We have done the LA to SF run------Santa Barbara & Yosemite are a must to stay-over & Highway 1 is an exciting coastal drive as you probably know. Tel
  17. I am with Lexus------5000 miles p.a. £324. Been with them since I retired in 2003.Service whenever I have had an issue has been superb. Tel
  18. Route-------Calais----Reims-----Beaune----Geneva-----Mont Blanc Tunnel----Milan-----Lake Garda. No Light Spares needed in 2013 so carried none in 2015. Have 2 Cans of Lexus Tyre Inflators that they originally supplied for the SC430 Model. Petrol prices very similar to UK both in France & Italy. Nav gave me speed & camera positions throughout my journey. Nb/ consumption significantly improves by reducing speed to 70--75 & not using cruise control but I chose to drive mine as my ISF which still gave a good 41+mpg. My car is covered in Maguires Products to easily remove Bird Poo & Midges. Tel
  19. The Good Points------2500 mile trip. 1.Average Speed excluding Road Works & non-motorway driving (200 miles) c.85 mph 2.Consumption 41.5 mpg 3.Nav------accurate delivery,Monte Blanc cross border notification, severe weather warnings as we approached Milan. 4.All Service Stations sell cans of Tyre Lubricant Inflation, even the giant BP Lorry Motel @ Macon near Geneva. 5.Washer Bottle never ran out. 6.No Road Rash The Not so Good---- 1.Speed Cameras on French & Italian Autoroutes 2.The Midges impaled on the front area of the car-----the numberplate was black! 3.The new Dart Tag System for Dartford Crossing on the M25 causes massive delays which it was designed to irradicate as all the Toll Booths have gone. 4.Calais . 5.M1 50 mph Road Works for 30 Miles & no-one actually working day or night. Tel
  20. My F-Sport is the best handling Lexus I have had including my ISF which had wonderful Brembo brakes & a gorgeous V8 that I only used on a one-off trip to Italy.I personally think the IS F-Sport is the best looker in the medium saloon class & in the current Lexus Range. Tel
  21. I have Superguard Tyre Gunk supplied with the car,the Lexus repair system & a Prayer Mat because Continental Driving is a whole new ball game in the Alps for example! Tel
  22. Yes it is said to be THE upgrade & the Nav is ultra responsive with noticeably less "Recalculations" when deviating from the original route. Tel
  23. Steve, Your Mic must be faulty as they must "shout" too! I have been running with the the new C-Version for a few weeks Zero issues so far. Tel
