  1. My experience is as follows. A model is launched & for c. 6 months the Global Lexus Team monitor / rectify issues on the product line to resolve those teething issues then reduce the Team to enable the rare improvement e.g.the rear damper on the Mk1 300h. driveline in 2014 Like my Mk.2 ISF, launched in 2011, the entire drivetrain, including the width of the wheel footprint ,was lighter, more compliant & 3 seconds faster around Sema beating the M3. There were a host of other changes to seats/dash etcetera that made it a different car. Sales rocketed in the States but here the 2008 Recession had been deep. I got a cancelled Order that made a sweet deal. My 2013 was good My 2017 is excellent. Tel
  2. Peter, Please note it was the Stainless Top section of my Protector that I was referring to. Tel
  3. Used to suffer the black line but for years have always brushed dirt & dried the edges in a circular motion that works a treat. Tel
  4. Tried twice 2 send you picture but must learn how to send 1 image instead of a whole file ! Mine came as part of the Protection Kit & enhances the rear end as the 2017 has metallic flashes built into the lower corners of the bumper. However, the protector's metallic centre section can easily be scuffed .Had one scare already. Tel
  5. Not really a fan as the Painted side protectors were standard on my IS 300 but I accidentally scratched one of them & ended up buying a replacement fitted for free. Protection strips look superb, my wife 's Bi-Tone Yaris has chrome but offer nothing themselves as we park to protect them if that makes sense ! Tel
  6. Bernard, My first drive was in the dark. The car was Black/Rose. A Stealth Fighter . Felt it was smoother to drive in ride, drive, steering & braking & the larger MM impressed. The lights were superb.I was impressed & was convinced the dark colour integrates the dark chrome features better. In use--- Voice Command has improved Switches to Battery Drive on every occasion traffic dictates. The Brakes are much smoother in application such that they feel more powerful ----the modulation is spot-on. The Steering is less wooden. The Drive is creamy smooth, the suspension thumps more rounded. Radar Cruise works eerily well given sudden dips can surprise. 2013 car was a sophisticated Priusesque vehicle that averaged 48mpg in Sport-only driving. 2017 is my junior ISF that averages 44mpg in Sport -only driving One of the reasons I said goodbye to my ISF was my licence was in great danger as the acceleration was stunning. In radar cruise control the return to set speed was electric. My fall in consumption reflects the 2017's smoothness ----- it really is a joy to drive & my average speed has increased. "Nice wheels Mate " is common. Tel
  7. Before I settled on my 2017 IS I test drove a 335i BM & thought the whole driving experience was far less smooth than my 2013 IS. Ofcourse it was faster & the brakes were impressive. The Deal was excellent & ,being a Lexus driver for some 18 years, I went for a few Factory Options The cost was + 10k on the base price & the guy informed me that most of my Options would count for little @ trade-in I test drove the 2017 IS & was impressed with the host of subtle changes & bought one even though I was miffed Lexus had dropped the 19 " wheel option! Tel
  8. The Brembo's were standard on my ISF &; if the spec of the pads has changed for the 2017 model; it might be worth a punt. The brakes are certainly much improved. Tel
  9. Brembo are superb brakes , are perfect for high performance vehicles & modulate better than ceramic. If my ISF Brembos scored 10 out of 10, my 2013 300h scored 6 as the power & modulation was neither forceful or smooth. My 2017 300h scores 8, Much smoother & therefore appear more powerful. Check the latest spec.------ the pads might, in themselves, give some improvement. Tel
  10. Extensive research & trials on my wife's mica red metallic Bi-Tone car has convinced me Dr. Colorchip is the best as the excess chip-fill of paint is smoothed clean by the finishing liquid in the kit supplied. Costs £60 but saved me a load of money to respray & have a near full Kit for future use if needed
  11. Current IS was a showroom car which had been Gardexed to display. I,like you, was Very cynical & refused to pay for it ! However,my car which has always looked Mint, has been cared for using Meguires Products on a Gardex Base & I never allow Service Valetting. The 2017 IS is offered with Wheel/Tyre/Scratch/Paint/Trim Protection & The Lexus Protection Pack to sweeten the deal if I agreed to go ahead in January. Delivery was April & then my Dealer got allocated my car which was originally destined for a Showroom in the South. A Dark Colour needs all the help it can get & I find my cars can attract unwanted Trabants even in deserted Parks. I am content. Tel All above Systems look good but doubt they are better than my Gardex/Meguires Version given, like others, I always keep my cars clean. The Big Issue we all face is Road Rash. Tel
  12. My Lexus Multi Media Device Registration has just been updated overnight. Have iPhone 6s & have no issues playing iTunes in car, without Personnel Hot Spot but have this feature ON for Connected Services. Had Full Reverse Screen for my first 10 days of ownership & told my Dealer when this feature changed confirming Lexus can communicate with our MM's. Tel
  13. The Lane Control System on mine can be switched off permanently by a button on the bottom right of my steering wheel & the Voice Recognition is now much better particularly when I Dial rather than Call my Contacts as the latter introduces a further step before the Call Connects. The switch to Battery Drive in Traffic is a new feature that is impressive. Tel
  14. Ian, You need your Log Book Data to Verify your car with My Lexus that then "awaits" the registration of the MM assigned to that vehicle. Can you not contact the DVLA for the Log-Book as this protocol is new for 2017 cars. Tel
  15. Likes--- Style Refinement Bullet-proof & the not so good-- Dealers struggle with non -routine service issues. Dealers fitted Options lists are sparse--- part Lexus Spec a BMW & you will see what I mean. No Spacesaver. Tel
  16. Ian, I had trouble with My Lexus & My Toyota for our cars until I registered both new car's Navs on their respective MM & not on-line. I selected easy single case passwords &, once I realised that the planned journey was in the Nav's Memory & not on the M-Point on the Main Screen, the system works perfectly. I changed the Toyota e-mail too despite the My Lexus/ Toyota Team insisting they could be the same & then educated both Dealers ! Tel
  17. In heavy traffic, in Sport Mode the car glides in silence for c. 8-10 miles which makes me feel good as the cars all around me cough & splutter noxious fumes. Never driven economically, yet average mpg over the last 4 years is c.45 mpg in the UK & 55 mpg on the Continent which is twice the rate of my ISF. Swift & Refined & a tenner for Road Tax ----- doesn't get much better. Tel
  18. Any progress on the Rock Chips , the rear scuff & the leather creases that are Lexus Cheltenham's responsibility not yours ? Tel
  19. Gardex System offers Chip & Scuff Protection which came "free " in my Deal which I was happy about as Road Rash & Alloy Scars do hurt & can be costly to resolve. R. clearly has his spin on all issues as we do too. You may recall I had a Seat Cushion issue on Delivery that I did not accept but others thought I was picky! Lexus resolved this & to date it has been "obese proof " which Rayaan doubted would work. My tyres are covered too & the brakes, so there is a good chance I can keep the car mint. Tel
  20. Never experienced a rattle on start-up even in sub-zero temperatures & Sport Mode functions perfectly from start-up. Your Service must be the root-cause. Tel
  21. Cris, Try Re-registering your Device on line & use your Phones Hotspot to connect to the car's Memory System. Is there not another Dealer you can get involved with your case? Tel
  22. Cris, Change your E-mail & password then ensure you tick the Saved box on the Connected Services Page. Tel
