Question For Is300H Owners
mr2lad replied to mr2lad's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Rayaan..... Yes it's totally shocking plus other damaged I'd listed and the missing drivers mat stolen by last customer, the dealership are chasing all this up with him, intially I was meant to be getting a RX450 but had all been pre-booked out and I'd of had to of waited another couple of days, I didn't want to wait any longer for my car to be picked up as I'm using my car as the brides transport for my daughters wedding in a weeks time, can't imagine what it would be like to try n squeeze her and dress into back of any other car hence I need mine back for it -
Question For Is300H Owners
mr2lad replied to mr2lad's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
As does my LS600 Colin... I believe this is300 has been used and abused worse thing is it was another Lexus owner that did this When he had this as a courtesy car It's not my car but I have washed/ hoovered it twice since I've had the use the of it and ok a bit OTT I polished it as well 😁😁😁 Why.... You ask well I respect other ppls property and expect the same... Plus I was bored lol😂😂😂😂😂 -
Rudy ..... Heres a pic of my bosses old LS430 at bottom of his yard that I had mentioned in a previous post.... I asked him what he's doing with it and he's still unsure My opinion is its not viable to get back on road as been sat to long and all brakes including pipes needing sorted, both front doors have large amount of rust along the trim, and as you can see passenger window is milking up.... Tyres are knackered as well, alloys badly needing refurbed Apart from that lol interior in good shape as is engine 😃😃😄

As some of you's are aware I presently have a is300h as a courtesy car, When it was delivered to me the driver tshowed me a bit of damage on the drivers seat and bodywork Thes a 2-3in scuff mark on the drivers seat back roughly about Halfway up on the edge just where the seatbelt rests on seat I'm just wondering is this a common thing with design of seat or as lexus driver said he thinks last person to use car probably didn't wear seat belt and it was rubbing between the driver and seat... The last person who had this as a courtesy car needs a kicking as he had scraped and dented rear n/s arch, kerbed the same side alloy and OSF alloy and believe it or not stole the drivers floor mat This is on a 64 plate with 6k on clock (shocking) I personal have noticed this past 3wks that the 2 courtesy cars ive had 1 being a 64 plate shogun and 2nd a 64 plate is300h that they aren't treated right The shoguns paint work looked like a 10yr old car put thru car washes ie every single panel very badly swirled marked and only 3310mls on its clock Is300 as described above Do ppl not look after cars they've been given out of courtesy I personally look after them as if they where mine Sorry went a bit of track from orginal question re the seat I'll take a photo in morning a show yous better what I mean

Rudy.... I had a lengthy chat with them about this and have been assured it won't be... Don't even want them washing it as thes no scratches on it now and don't want someone putting a brush or sponge over my car with grit/dirt imbedded in them.... Yes I am very pernickety ok anal about the up keep of my car lol
-
Ohhh ive been there done that on the is300 forum and think I upset some owners I can see where there coming from by their comments tho as it is unfair to judge it against the 600 lol I find it a small uncomfortable and very basic, and very plasticky Nice drive tho and nice shape but nahhhhhh not for me I'm too used to the luxury of The LS range

I have noticed over the years NOT just with Lexus but other big dealerships as well that rather than try and diagnose the original problem they just replace the item staring them in the face.... My 1st ever Lexus which was a mk2 LS 12yrs ago had the blinky dash and Lexus wouldn't repair it but replace it at a cost of near 2k... I did a bit of research myself and went to local maplin electronic store and bought 3 capacitors at a huge expense of 96pence 😆😆😆😆 2hrs of my time and sorted a small saving of £1999.04.. Again with this problem I did a bit of research and came to conclusion it was a thermostat relay and mentioned this prior to them getting my car to look at again and guess what YES. A bit of research diagnosed the fault.... Maybe I should work with n their tech department and could save customers loads of money.... Anyway at moment I'm happy hopefully be in same mood when it's back.... Unlike last time 😆😆

Phone Lexus up earlier and they have finally solved the heated seat problem I had.... The thermostat for the heated seat was temperamental so now getting replaced... Intially Seat was heating up fine when they had it (funny as I used car more frequently than they have tested it and it never heated up fine from when problem started) Anyway they went to check it again yesterday and thermostat was cutting off too soon so problem found and now solved After seeing the leather seat replacement they have finally agreed it shouldn't be like that so seat being given to a vehicle upholsterer to fit by steaming and specialist ironing (yes sounds weird ironing leather) but that's how it's done Seemingly the reason for state of new leather is the way it's packed and stored ie folded up multiple times and shoved into a plastic bag, hence misshaped leather and bad figment Anyhow that's it getting done and should get car back early next week due to Easter Monday etc etc So won't need to slum it in a is300h for much longer 😆 For those that haven't read my other posts the heater element is attached to leather and comes as a one piece item in the 600s and more than likely 460s hence new seat leather as well (even tho final diagnoses was a thermostat under seat was problem and not the element my original leather/heat element had been disposed off so new seat element/leather fitted )

Lexus Ls600Hl Wanted
mr2lad replied to Mbdj's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club
Don't think anyone on here is selling their LS600hl, keep trying the likes of autotrader or even contact Lexus themselves and if one crops up they'll give you a call... I did that and ended up with the exact color trim and extremely low mileage minted one with RSR pack -

Full leather seats in car ...I know this because youngest spilt his drink on it within 2-3mins of getting in car so had to turn round and get cloth and leather cleaner before it soaked in and got sticky 😝 -

Sorry if I trod on anyone's toes.... Yes It maybe because I comparing to my LS, It could be a standard model haven't done any research on IS300h but was gob smacked when I had to manually adjust seats 😁 I apologise if I've rattled anyone's cage with my opinion 😳 Unsure what model of 300 it is but has 17" wheels and parking sensors if that helps -

Really....... I've a is300h as a courtesy car and am not impressed at all....very basic and small and that's coming from a slim 5'8" person Ps sorry is300h owners but this is just my personal opinion 😳 -
LS600 picked up a hour and a half ago and now have a 64plate is300h as a courtesy car .... Oh these are so so basic compared to my car.. No electric seats there MANUAL lol can't remeber last time I had to manually adjust my seat in a car . And didn't realise how little they are We as LS drivers regardless whether it's a 400/430/460/600 are SPOILT EDIT oops posted on wrong thread ......sorry😎

Jeremy that's just for the bottom half of seat and just the leather and element , so you can imagine the price for a full seat and it's workings £££££££££'s I bet if you where to buy every part needed to build your own car from nuts to frame/engine etc you'd probably be double if not triple the new screen price, Couple of years ago I nearly had to replace the inside door card for a GS450h I had and was quoted £2200 eh?!!???!!??!??! Just for the door card not any electrics.... Parts are pricey
-
Lol unlike the lexus garage I put my car too last week who straight away presumed it was element and replaced seat leather/element (all one piece on the 600s ) at a cost of £1350 + vat (warranty job tho) and returned car to me with the same problem lol now cars going back to them on Monday for them to diagnose it CORRECTLY hopefully and sort the crinkly loose leather at same time..... All this hassle on my car could of been avoided if they checked properly.... Wish I could find out where my relays are so I could swap them around to see if I'm correct with my diagnoses
-
Don't always presume it's the element... As I have a problem on my car and had element changed last week and still isn't working right, and believe it's down to heated seat thermostats relay.... All my other seats heat up correctly ie rears and passenger and only bottom half of my seat doesn't work Correctly on driver side( bottom half starts to heat up then stops and blows cold air at me after 5mins) .... Here's hoping yours is just a relay as 26k isn't even run in yet so can't see it being wear n tear plus big coincidence that both front seats don't work.... All pointing to a relay or wiring problem... But then again is it only one relay running both seats..... I know on mine it's seperate relays...
