LIFE OF A TRUCK DRIVER..... For all the guys wanting to Drive Trucks, take a close look before you sign on the dotted line : Yes the wages are good Yes you can up your lifestyle with a nice home, cars and toys. Yes the financial rewards are tempting Yes it gets in your blood Yes you see the country Yes you get considerable time at home when you are at home Yes you miss Family and loved ones Yes Relationships will be strained and pushed to breaking point Yes you wish your life away when you are away Yes you lay awake at night sometimes wondering "why do I do this" and "Is this really worth it" SO ??? BEFORE YOU EMBARK ON A TRIP AND SIGN YOUR LIFE AWAY, REMEMBER; You may not make every party, BBQ, wedding or funeral You may not be home for Christmas or easter You may not be there for your children's birthdays You may not see your kids swim, ride a bike for the first time or be there to read stories at night You may not be there to take them to watch sports games You may not be there for presentation nights, school plays or parent/teacher interviews You may not be there to see them win medals at school sports days No you will not always be there during times of family crisis and feel helpless being so far away No you might not be there to bury a family member or close friend So, before anybody judges someone who has the guts and courage to work away to try and make a better life for themselves and those around them, DONT say "YOU MUST BE MINTED" or "YOUR LUCKY'. These people sacrifice more than half of their life being away from loved ones to make their dreams comes true. -

Bought LS with 24,464mls on clock and as of yesterday it reached 48,003mls only 1 breakdown as such (flat knackered battery) changed all pads and discs and then just normal servicing costs as you can see i didnt do a lot of mileage of the 5 yrs but what i did was all done in pure luxury im a lorry driver so away most of the week or weeks at a time hence low mileage on car and have two lexus so mileage split between both cars the past year -

Best car ive ever owned.... usually change every 3-4yrs but had this one for 5... nothing to complain about,,,, im going to miss it but change of circumstances doesnt warrant me having LS as not being used to its potential ...plus having mid life crisis which warrants a sportier car lol -
I’ll be migrating over from LS side of forum to here on monday picking up a RCF monday morning

2 questions: Leather cleaner/magnetised fastener -
mr2lad replied to varunsharma's topic in Lexus SC430 Club
@Neil E i used a normal detergent and soaked belts in a basin (in situ) for a hour then scrubbed with nail brush and came up okayish and passable but seen a trick on a you tube site so then got a piece of plastic piping about 8’’ long and cut it from the side end about 3-4’’ And placed belt thru it and clamped it tight with hand and dragged it down belt, oh my god the gunk thats in the belt you dont see is horrific, so repeated the soaking and used piping again a couple of times and belt came out bright and looking damned near new, then month later ripped them out and got red ones installed lol -

You can get the magnet fasteners off amazon, ive a big tub of them -
I had ivic vaitech in my LS then last year replaced it with a grom V2...... Viatech box currently sat in garage, including import etc etc was around £350 and GROM V2 £500

I bought and fitted this 4wks ago and does everything and more to what you want, you will also need to buy a beatsonic interface to connect up to Mark Levinson amp and steering wheel controls, this unit and interface cost me £1121 as a package, you can get cheaper double din head units tho....... search online for cartronics in byfleet they are the only company that i could find that has the lexus SCs Europe beatsonic interface

I had problems with my SC’s battery going flat and thought the same, so disconnected them but following week battery flat again, was told to switch stereo off prior to parking up as amp will still be live and drawing a current if you leave it on and switch ignition off... not had a flat battery since
-
My next biggest job on my SC is a complete respray but will be staying with same colour “black” maybe with bit of a sparkle tho in it as just normal black is costing me 4K so might as well spend a bit more for something different which sticks out slightly from the norm too much peeheeing around to do a colour change ie door shuts under bonnet and boot.... your silver in my opinion is the best colour, i have that colour on my LS agree with you about covering plastic dash and other bits of trim 👍🏻...hmmmm next job to do after respray lol

Was i..... and cost of leather seat base with intrigated heater element would of been £1350 plus vat had it not of been covered by extended warranty i had...on the LS600hL. And most likely other LSs and other models the leather and heater element are intrigated together and aren’t separate hence the price,,,, and indeed ended up being a £10-20 relay that was at fault
-
Re the battery drainage, i had similar problem and has been suggested to switch stereo off PRIOR to parking up as amp stays on and drains battery,..... never had a flat battery since and cars left for a week or two, whilst i am away working,
