  1. The museum re-opens on the 12th April so I'll give them a call to confirm parking arrangements. I'll post back here with the info. Thanks, Claire
  2. I had RSI a few years ago (stop it!) and was given a wrist brace by the doctor. I had to wear it for a couple of weeks and make some changes at work - wrist support in front of the PC etc. and all is well now ;)
  3. For the odd occasions my dog is allowed in the car, I've bought a cheap plastic cover from Argos. Doesn't look like much and is a pain to try and get it to stay on, but it does work and keeps the seats clean.
  4. I just saved myself £83 on insurance through Gold - well worth it.
  5. I think if we have a reception/stand/focal point, it's a good idea but there has to be a rota of people manning it all day. Otherwise it'd be the same people stuck there all day - and the admin go to have fun too! I try and get to the meets early (usually succeed too!) and say hello etc. but it's difficult to be there all day. Maybe we should take up some of these points (like committee staff are easily identifiable - badges or something?) for the larger meets. I don't think it's needed for the smaller events through the year.
  6. It'll be worth the wait though ;) I think there's been problems with the suppliers, but don't think they'll be that much longer in coming...
  7. Saw Chris but not you or Ilfraz (D'oh). For the record, I was the one doing do-nuts in the car park....with a pushchair ;)
  8. I'm not talking about any LOC members in particular...the culprits I saw unfortunately were all Honda's. I was in the museum a lot of the time and can only say what I saw, but apparently there were people from clubs other than Honda that were also driving like idiots. As I said, at the end of the day, we're judged as a collective group - no matter what make of car was involved.
  9. It was a good meet, sorry I missed some of you - Mitch how did I miss you?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Brilliant turn out - great that you all made it :D
  10. I bought the Autoglym Gloss stuff last week to use in time for Gaydon. Great stuff, but by the time I got to Gaydon my pride and joy was all mucky... A dab of Peter's Meguers (ta very much) and it was brand spankingly shiney (sigh) - still looks really good now. And Wildrnes' polish was fantastic on my wheels - really, really impressed. Aaaaghhhh, you lot are costing me a fortune. It's got to a stage where my husband's starting to beg me to go back to buying shoes - he reckons it's cheaper.
  11. Take a look at this link Gus: http://amjec.co.uk/teamlexus/
  12. Rightly or wrongly, this is how we are seen by establishments like Gaydon. It doesn't matter if it was us, TOC or Honda-R - it's one event and that's what the organisers see. They don't give a sh*t what make car it was. If LOC is whiter than white and none of our members were involved, great. We then take the decision as to whether or not we do combined meets unless there are guarantees that drivers will behave. My impression from what I saw (and I was in the museum a lot of the time), was that the majority of LOC members behaved fairly responsibly. Any that weren't owe an apology. I don't want meets to turn into max-power ego races. If that's the way it goes and that's what people want, fine, but I won't be involved.
  13. I thought it was bl**dy disgusting. I hope the idiots responsible (from any of the clubs involved) have the balls to apologise. It's quite feasible that Gaydon decline any future requests to visit the museum as a club. Be aware that our image as a club is determined by our collective conduct.
  14. My toy is nearly 2 years old now and I still have the stupid grin on my face.... :D
  15. Yeah it was a nightmare. Years and years ago I had a Seat Ibiza GLX (box on wheels, don't laugh), and managed to attach it to an Astra in front of me (oops). Had the last laugh when 3 runner neckers on the opposite side of the road ran into the back of each other as they were too busy looking at what I was doing. Luckily no-one was going fast enough to get hurt, but it's easy to see how these accidents escalate. Grrr. :arrrggg-matey:
  16. Just bought a digital camera to take some piccies. Spent all my pocket money for the next 10 years
  17. Depends what you are after really. I test drove the Type-R Civic a little while ago and I was impressed with it - certainly the acceleration. If I was in the market for a cheaper (to buy) car then I'd go for the Civic. However, I think it's probably a class lower that the IS200, I don't really think they are on a par. If you've got the money to spend, go for a Lexus. If you don't want to spend out that much, then you can't go wrong with the Civic for the money
  18. Where abouts in Devon are you? I've got family in Exeter, Rockbeare & Cullumpton...
  19. I'm as honest as the day is long mate. Would I pinch any of your plates
