  1. What git spilt the superglue?!?!
  2. Yeah, sounds good. Let's catch up on Sunday !
  3. Yeah it's fine for your mate to come along too. I'm not too sure where the nearest jet wash is to the Coppid Beech. There is a garage opposite and they may have one. I'll go and have a look later.
  4. I'm 28, lived in Maidenhead (Berkshire) most of my life then have had brief interludes in Stoke, Colnbrook and finally Warfield !
  5. Black and gold would be the business!
  6. When the film comes out, how's about a North and South meet to go and see it? I'd nominate Wycombe UCI Cinema for the south - loads of parking and near the motorway. Also a pasta/pizza place next door. For the northern meet, how about Festival Park in Stoke?
  7. The local council finally found a way of installing speed bumps that didn't attract complaints from residents
  8. Fidget, Chris and the North of Watford contingency (!), there shouldn't be any issue with turning up at the hotel earlier. If you prefer, we're only about 5 mins away from the venue and you're welcome to roll up here first if you prefer. I'm sure I could even rustle up a decent cuppa and a bacon sarnie or two ;)
  9. Now got all the info (thanks to UltraViolet) and will contact the organisers to book some space later this week. Unless it's already been sorted??
  10. I took a couple of pics on my new digital camera. I went to download them on to my ancient PC and realised I don't have a USB port <D'oh> :shutit: Will post them when I get my piccies downloaded onto my mates PC and emailed over to me :duh:
  11. The new Top Gear and Fifth Gear get my votes....er, ok Top Gear as you can only vote once :D
  12. Hope your wife gets better soon.
  13. I think the main problem with speeding is that it tends to be done to excess by people who are way over confident i.e. think they can handle the car when they can't. Drivers should be painfully aware of their own inadequacies and drive within their limits, and the limits set by the road conditions, weather and general environment. I totally disagree with the speeds that that moron got up to and I hope he 'enjoys' his time at the pleasure of HRH. I am no angel and have been guilty of speeding. Having gone from a ropey old Vauxhall Cavalier to a Honda Prelude 2.2 VTech, I hit a stupid speed on the M4 without even realising it. When I did take notice, I scared myself silly and slowed right down. I'm an average driver and feel that my driving has improved over time, but not to the extent I could handle the car at high speeds. Drivers who kill, maim, injure other drivers through DANGEROUS driving (not necessarily related to speed), should be imprisoned. A fine and a smack on the wrist isn't enough.
  14. I'm really glad that you are all safe. I hope you got the girl's insurance details ok - she won't be laughing when she sees her next premium. A slight aside, I know that a baby on board sticker shouldn't make a difference to how people drive (they should just be sensible anyway), but the real purpose to these stickers/notices is in case of accident - if your car is in an accident, it's to notify the emergency services that there's a nipper in the vehicle, it may not be immediately obvious.
  15. I personally think you get more for the money with Lexus. Most things like the decent stereo etc come as standard, with a BMW they seem to charge extra for everything and anything...
  16. I just think that the synthetic shammy is easier to keep and I find it it easier to use - I don't smear the car as much. As for my tips on washing my IS is just do it often! I cleaned it twice over the weekend and it's covered in c**p now <_<
  17. Hiya, I live just down the road, so won't be hitting the M4 at all! I'm sure some others must be up for a convoy? The place opens at 12pm and I'm going to try and be there from 11.30am to get our spot sorted. There are LOTs of Toyota's expected too and the organisers are probably going to pitch us quite close together. The organisers are from mkivSupra.net - guess there'll be a few Supras then ;)
  18. It's so gutting. I had my car vandalised but although I knew who did it, I couldn't prove it. It was my first year of having my own insurance and as I couldn't afford to do the repairs myself, had to claim. Once my year was up I shopped around and managed to get a cheaper quote (through GOLD), so wasn't too badly affected with the premiums. It may be worthwhile just biting the bullet and claiming. Once your insurance is up look around for something more competitive - most companies won't load your premiums for something that wasn't your fault.
  19. Helloooo and welcome :D
  20. We had a great time, nice to see you all !
  21. I applied for an Open Road event but unfortunately didn't get an invite
  22. Starts at 12pm and costs @ £3 per car. The organisers are hoping for around 300 cars!
  23. The track stuff starts at 10am. I'd suggest that people aim to get to the stand between 9-10am. Is that too early
