  1. Glad no one so far has admitted to parking in the parent and child bays to avoid this problem <Grrrrr>. I'm usually the screaming harragan telling them they've forgotten their kiddie and to :tsktsk: park somewhere else!
  2. I'm afraid my babysitter has dropped out, so I won't be able to make it - sorry
  3. We had a great time. Thanks for organising it Steve. Nice to meet everyone!
  4. I drove the GS430 at a recent Open Road event - what a fantastic car
  5. Welcome to the club - hope the enjoyment of the car helps erase the memories relating to the hassles of getting it!
  6. Difficult choice! I was impressed with the RX when we drove one at the Open Road event. Makes sense to get one if you only need the one car...
  7. Both my mother-in-law and brother-in-law have CRX's and they're lovely cars. My mum-in-law's one is like yours Loz (but I think it's a Jap-import) and brother-in-law's has the leccy roof and a nice, fairly subtle body kit. I've got first refusal on it for when he comes to sell it on :D
  8. Yeah, you gotta come along to JAE, the car looks great. I love the ghost flames!
  9. There will be a LOC/TOC pitch but it's not allocated to us prior to the event - hence Zee going early to set up. I've not been before, but I imagine it's a good idea to turn up early to sort all the cars on stand. :D
  10. Sport As long as it's been well looked after it should go on for aaaaaggggggeeeeessssss
  11. I'm really sorry to hear that, must be nearly as gutting as the original incident. Chin up. What goes around comes around and hopefully the driver (and the judge - grrr) will get their come-uppance eventually.
  12. Really looking forward to it. Thanks to Lexus I'll only have to work a 3-day week this week (Open Road event yesterday, Toyota Factory on Fri) - could get used to it
  13. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends
  14. Seconded Mac! We had a brilliant time too - we arrived just before 1pm and left at 4.30pm after having driven: RX300 IS300 GS430 SC430 LS430 The RX was great, I really liked the improvements over the last model. I was really disappointed with the IS300 but not 100% clear why. The interior didn't seem as nice as my IS200, even though it's full leather etc. I guess it's what you get used to. The SC430 was brilliant fun, far less wallowey without the the run flats. The LS430 was very luxurious, but not my 'thang'. My favourite without a doubt has to be the GS430 - I want one Brilliant day and our thanks to everyone/anyone involved :D
  15. I personally wouldn't buy a car from a car supermarket (did do once and it was a pain). Although there might be a difference in price buying at a dealership, you should get a decent warranty. If you don't want to try a dealers look at other main garages where a Lexus could have been traded in (perish the thought!). Also, if you've got a model and spec in mind, you could get a Lexus dealer to do a search on what's available nationally. We did this with Honda when my husband was looking for a car and got one the right spec and price from Derby in the end!
  16. Hi Zee, Yep, didn't we talk about this at Bracknell? I spoke to Andrew the organiser and he's got our booking. Remember I said it seemed very relaxed? Basically the club just needs to turn up early and grab a pitch (he doesnt allocate them as such). I'm not able to make it this time (my mums birthday on the 28th so we're with them most of the weekend). I'll PM you all the details - Andrew's contact info etc. Thanks, Claire
  17. Now shake hands like good boys and get along
  18. I've been to various parts of Florida over the years - Clearwater, St Petersburg, Kissimee. I was a little kiddie last time we were in Kissimee, so can't remember much about it - I'm really looking forward to going. I got our tickets through for Univeral Studios, Busch Gardens and Sea World (discounted, PM me if you want the guys details), I can't wait to see my little ones' face!
  19. Back to Tony Martin again, the authorities were looking to change his identity and move him somewhere else. He's apparently under threat from the family/friends/contacts of the burglar he shot who died. After exploring these possibilities, it's now been determined that it will be worthless changing his identity - because, get this!!, the other burglar who was wounded has been deemed a victim, and as such has to be kept informed where Tony Martin is living on his release. Something is severely wrong with this country. Laws need to be changed to protect the victims not the criminals. The police are powerless in some instances and can't be bothered in others. When things do get progressed either the CPS lets the system down or some ditthery, senile old judge cocks it up. :duh:
