Just to add my two'penneth.... Thanks all, we had a good time on Saturday. Thanks to Fidgits for amusing Kieran and making the 2 Lexus representatives sweat (imagine a 1 year old let loose in a SC430...). Thanks also MsW for the Pimms :D Great day, nice to see you all, sorry we couldn't make it back for today.

I'm in the process of booking a pitch for the club. I rang yesterday but was told we wouldn't be eligible as "it's for JAPANESE cars only" Rang back today and spoke to someone sensible, the booking form is in the post :D

Apparently the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (the governing body that covers all manufacturers & traders) do a certificate alongside the SVA test to prove that the car has not previously been stolen or written off. Supposedly there's been a rise in stolen/damaged cars being imported as it's a big money spinner for the organised crime business

Regarding your concerns on a lease car, at least you know it'll have been serviced regularly as clockwork and will have been looked after well mechanically. At worst the bodywork/wheels wouldn't be looked after but generally everything else tends to be fine. Mine's a lease car but done on a PCP rather than through the company and I love it to bits !

As my car is bog standard, I've just knocked up a sheet with my avatar, user name and LOC logo. Laminated it so it'll look ok. One day I'll have a spec sheet that's not standard <sigh>

I disn't phrase that too well looking back at it :duh: We've got a car valeter coming along (Saturday at least). He's going to give us some good pricing - dependant on what you want it'll probably be about a tenner a car - he usually charges about £17.

We should have a car valeter there on the Saturday too - saves us hosing down the cars from the dust ourselves

That's tough Zee, I hope they lay off. What can you do about it? I'd be worried about putting in a complaint in case it made it worse (maybe a touch paranoid).
