One of my ex-bosses picked up his new TVR Tuscan and went off to a customer meeting. Next thing we know he's being relayed back to the office as his car would only go into reverse gear :P

I am due to cancel this Christmas party as there hasn't been as much interest as we'd hoped. I'll leave the thread going until Friday lunchtime, then will pull the plug if the interest levels (and cheque deposits!) haven't gone up. Thanks, Claire

I thoroughly recommend you shopping around. The LOC scheme through Gold's been good for me, before that I was with Bell Direct - they were very cheap in comparison to the others I called. Just grab a Yellow Pages and call loads of the insurance free-phone numbers and see how you get on. You'll be surprised.

I called the police but they weren't interested as no one was hurt. I wondered if it was worth checking out the driver's tachograph, but again no interest from the police. I'll be contacting the insurance again later today so will see if he's filed with his insurers yet, if not I'll ring the company direct - cheers for the suggestion Ryan. Picked up the Yaris courtesy car this morning, it feels like a go-kart!

No, my IS is on a PCP - I did it that way so I can take the car with me when I leave. So it's all self-funded, my insurance etc. I got the details of the lorry as he had to stop really. He's just not contacted his company yet to notify them, so my insurance can't establish liability yet. Lexus Edgware came through and have sorted me out a courtesy car anyway, my car's been trailered off to the garage so the damage will be fixed up either way luckily. Just pleased my son wasn't in the car, and no one was hurt. Feeling a bit more chilled about it now, just hoping it doesn't go 50/50. Will try hard not to let it go that way. I'll post the piccies of the damage when I sort them out. Thanks for all your help peeps. I'll let you know how I get on.

It doesn't look good at the moment The driver hasn't contacted his insurer as yet, so mine can't establish liability and can't get me a hire car yet. The person I spoke to at my insurer was good but has given me a worst case scenario - that the driver will lie about the circumstances of the accident and blame me. As I haven't any witnesses, if that does happen they are likely to settle as a 50/50 claim and I will be held partly liable, lose my excess and it'll be on my insurance that I had an 'at-fault' claim. Why do I sorely doubt this guy will do the honest thing. I'm :tsktsk: livid. :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk:

I like the looks of the Skyline but have never driven one. Like Ian, I drove a GS430 at an Open Road event. It didn't 'feel' like a big car and the handling surprised me, it was really good - especially around the windey roads. I've driven fast cars before and the engine on this felt really powerful and the car just stuck to the road. I loved the acceleration and was pleased to find the brakes just as effective. It's a great car and I WANT ONE!!!!

They've all given me contact details..."

The car isn't drivable as the nearside rear wheel arch has been smashed and torn and is now only a few mm off the rear wheel. The back passenger door is badly scraped and dented and the rear alloy and bumper is scuffed. Just come off the phone to the insurance company. . Just waiting for the call from the Lexus bodyshop - Jemca on the Edgware Road - to see when they can collect the car to start work on it. I can't get a courtesy car until they collect mine, so I hope it's soon. Still really :tsktsk: off, but relieved it's only metal and no one's been hurt. Well, the lorry driver probably scraped his knuckles as they were dragging on the ground (not a reflection on ALL lorry drivers, just this particular specimen - he was rude and obnoxious.)

PC World have a special offer on at the mo' for McAfee firewall and Anti-Virus malarky - it was advertised in the paper at the weekend and I think it was about £35-ish.

Maybe now the so-and-so's that keep nicking things off your car will be struck down with lightning ;)
