  1. Yeah we've got loads you can borrow Ian - let me know what type of films you like and I'll sort one out for you. I bought my parents a regionless DVD for Christmas, it was £60 and worked a dream. I know costs have come down a lot know and £40 seems about right. All that usually happens is that they type in a code to set it to region 0 to be able to watch all films. If you're worried just do a Google search and you'll find the codes to switch from region to region. I'll see if I can dig out the website we used for ours.
  2. Eek, just had a call from Lexus Edgware Road (they're doing the insurance job on my car), asking if I knew my IS had an oil leak. I'd had a right old go at my husband as I thought his car was leaking oil all over our drive and it couldn't possibly be my lovely Lexus.... Had him book his car into Honda and everything, even argued the toss when he denied it was his car. You can guess how much fun he's having now he knows he was right Anyway, Lexus will look at it but I don't reckon it's engine oil - could it be from the gearbox? The car's only 2 years old, should it be fixed under warranty?
  3. You should write up a Workshop article ;)
  4. Angels - x - thanks! I'll try and organise parking with one of these. Pays to ask, I was looking for ages :D
  5. Should be 3 separate sprays. They get blocked by limescale sometimes, just use a pin to clear them :)
  6. http://events.lexusownersclub.co.uk/dispInfo.php?eid=7 Just a favour to ask for anyone local to Keswick, Cumbria - I'm trying to arrange decent parking as the museum car park is fairly small. I've heard that there's a hotel nearby that would be good for parking and would allow peeps to meet for a coffee etc before going to the museum. I can't find the contact details of the hotel on the web and am unsure as to if this is the exact name of the hotel. Anyone know - I thought it was the Keswick Hotel but Google's not coming up with anything that specific. Thanks, Claire
  7. http://events.lexusownersclub.co.uk/dispInfo.php?eid=6 For those of you who have alreasy signed up for this meet or intending to, please note that the date has been changed from 11th Oct (Sat) to 12th Oct (Sun). The museum will not be open on the 11th. Dates for the other meetings in the calendar remain unchanged. Thanks.
  8. :o That's a brilliant discount. Thank Ken, much appreciated!
  9. C'mon then Mat, what's your conspiracy theory
  10. Yep, the Yaris is the courtesy car - nice little number, 1.3, aircon.... Feels as though you're driving a go-kart, good fun though! (Too chicken to drive last night tho, I let Si have that honour) Pete, we've re-booked to go and see the film on 8th Sept :)
  11. Looks as though I might be going with my in-laws to see ma-inlaw's boss take a long run off a short pier Some Red Bull sponsored event for charideeee
  12. I might be wrong, but the reason why group buys don't compete with the discounted prices open to Goldies, is generally because they can't be got any cheaper. The group buys are normally for more non-standard parts where our buying power can really kick in... errr, I think. Any advances Gord?
  13. That's good of you Pete. We actually pootled in to Waterloo in the Yaris and traffic was so bad it took us 2 hours. Dunno how long it would have taken by train - or bus for that matter, each bus stop seemded to have about 50-60 people queued up.
  14. So, Simon and I get a babysitter lined up and decide to go to the IMAX cinema at Waterloo to see the Matrix Reloaded film. Thought the traffic was a bit heavy and finally got to Waterloo a couple of hours after leaving home (!), we dashed to the cinema as we didn't want to miss the start of the film, and thought it all looked a bit dark. Bloomin' power cut - obviously the IMAX couldn't open and the trains etc were buggered. We ended up going to Pizza Express (there's on 30 mins from where we live!). Had a nice meal and a good evening but it took us another 2 hours to get home again !!! Am knackered this morning
  15. 16. Sorry to hear that Ian. Let's hope this resurrected thread will help get more people signed up to contribute to cancer research
  17. I tend to work my finances out on a monthly budget...'feels' cheaper at the time (Can you see why I'm not minted!!!)
  18. I just wasn't imaginative enough to put anything else
  19. They sound as though they're trying it on. Go back, mention the 1000's of people viewing this forum, seeing your experience and telling you you've been palmed off ! Also mention the Lexus experts who could obviously teach them a thing or two. ;) Are Lexus dealerships slipping, a fair few people on here seem to be having more problems than necessary!
  20. Ask them to consider an independant inspection and watch them back track. I really think you've given them all opportunity to resolve the situation and Lexus Bolton are behaving like school kids. Hope your litigation goes well and that you'll get some satisfaction in knowing how many people see this site and will read your dealer review. I can't imagine any of us hurrying to bolster Lexus Bolton's profits.
  21. Nah, you're all wrong. You just get behind the wheel of the car, turn the stereo up LOUD and make Brrrm, Brrrm car noises :P
