Rx300 Alloy Corrosion

I know there have been similar issues with the alloys on the IS200. It seems to be due to the fact the wheels aren't laquered at the back and the brake dust seems get under the rest of the laquer which causes the corrosion. If your car is still under warranty, your dealer should be able to swap them/refurb them. -
Put me down as a maybe - I'm hoping to get over there so we can sort out the sports grill !!!

I'm trying to get my husband to do up our kitchen -- it took him nearly a year to fit downlighters and paint it, so who knows how long it'll take to replace the kitchen! But, seeing as you're so proficient now, perhaps you can pop over once you've finished yours?!?!

It's a really good day out. We're expecting 300-400 cars so it'll be well worth a jaunt over to Gaydon!

Look at the car VERY carefully if you buy from there. A friend of a friend bought and Audi from there and had no end of problems. The car wasn't performing properly and they were told by TS to take it to Audi as it was no longer their problem. When it went to Audi, they discovered the PDI hadn't been done properly and there was the bare minimum of oil and water. To cap it all, the glass needed replacing as it didn't meet UK (EU?) safety standards. I've heard mixed reports but I guess everyone's experiences are different. If you go there with a clear idea as to what you want/expect, they are very cheap. -

I'd point out the marks to the owner, say it'll cost £X per wheel to fix and that if they knowck that off the price you'll go for it....

Definitely the right choice! Around here there's tons of IS200's but I still feel good driving mine!!!

I hasten to add that I never actually did this, but the thought of it helped me at the time! When I was 6 months pregnant, my car was vandalised by some @!!#% neighbours but I couldn't prove it to the police hence nothing was done. My plan was that when the baby was born, I'd save all the smelly nappies and in the dead of night post them through their letter box! As I said, I didn't do anything but the thought of revenge was good!

Ah ok, I think I've just demonstrated why I wouldn't be safe to do this anyway!!! That's the one downside to the GS that I can see, it seems silly that the UK spec GS's never had this....

I would be interested in this for when I get the GS, but I wouldn't be too confident doing it myself - is this the sort of thing you'd entrust to an auto-electrician?

I think they've shot themselves in the foot, if it was my car they'd lose more money as I'd take it elsewhere for servicing etc.
