  1. I got my IS200 Sport when I needed a more-sensible family car (the Honda Prelude didn't cut it!). It's been great, although I found the shape of the boot opening a bit of a pain for all the baby paraphernalia - the springs get in a way sometimes. But all-in-all it was great. Just bought a GS300 and if you don't mind the higher mileage (for the price you're looking to pay), you'll find loads of room for your new arrival and all the gear that goes with it. They go on forever if they've been well looked after (I hope!!!) IS or GS, you should find it a good fun car and practical enough to cart around a nipper!
  2. Yeah, he drove it over to my work today to pick me up for lunch. I had to take the IS (hard life eh?!) in as it was being picked up for it's 40k service. Not sure if I'll get to drive it tomorrow either as 'Himself' is going to take it to the garage for me for a verdict on the brakes. Ho hum, I'll certainly be making up for lost time! MW, the parking and that front spoiler is the only think worrying me at present. I prefer to reverse into spaces but am scared of banging the rear. I guess until I'm really used to it, I'll be parking like a Noddy across 2 bays Craig, yep, the IS feels like a go-kart in comparison. Both fun cars but I now pledge my allegiance to the GS300 (until I can get the lottery win for the 430 anyway ;) )
  3. Swap the discs with the ones on your IS if you still have it Now THAT'S an idea - is it easy to do or are there any volunteers to help me do this at Gaydon?!?!?!?!
  4. Thanks for all the responses chaps! Colin, I'll try your suggestions and see how I go, there is slight juddering on breaking. I called an independant garage and they said the discs could need replacing - but I know you can get them skimmed if need be. Am getting hubby to take it to a garage for a verdict - I'm always worried about being ripped off as I don't know much about these things. Anyway, still really happy with it and very much looking forward to showing it off on Sunday!
  5. What a great Mothers Day yesterday - I picked up my new (well, new to me) GS300 Sport!!!! Still can't wipe the smile off my face :D :D :D I bought it from Jimmy Ten Toes so you'll see it in the Garage as the feature car. It's a real beaut and a completely different drive to my IS - taking a little getting used to (that's my excuse for driving it around so much anyway). Just one minor problem, I think it needs new front pads - they're squeaking and there's some shake breaking from higher ( ) speeds. Anyone know what I should expect to pay from Lexus or from an independant? Any views on if I should get the back ones replaced as well or am I ok to just replace the front pads? Thanks, Claire
  6. Ok, you got me sussed, I've also got leopard skin seat covers in my IS and a nice big fluffy dice!
  7. Er, and no, don't know anything about it. Obviously led a sheltered life...!
  8. :o :o :o Really?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I'm worried, it was my husband's idea to move here, perhaps he's trying to get rid of me?!?!?! :duh:
  9. I'll have my GS by then - HURRAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D
  10. I've got a Dell Axim which cost me a shade under £200 and I know you can pick up Tomtom navigator/software for it for around £250. My mate uses this on his iPAC and really rates it.
  11. Mine's a 2001 and the heated mirrors stay on the whole time...
  12. You used to pay on the gate if memory serves me right, but I believe that due to a revamp it might have changed to pay as you go into the museum. Be prepared for the 1st option though - as it's a club day they may not want to miss out on all that luvverly lucre if people decide not to go into the museum!
  13. I seem to recall that Lexus have changed when they recommend the cambelts on the GS should be changed - from 60k to 100k miles, so you should be fine. Hope that's the case anyway, or else I have to shell out on mine!!!
  14. The jealous sods probably think that as you have a nice car you can afford the repairs <sigh>. Hope the idiots get their comeuppance!!!
  15. The Sport - I've bought Jimmy Ten Toes' car from him and it's a real beaut! Sooo excited about picking it up.
  16. *** FYI*** If you are intending to go into the museum, please say you're with LOC or else you'll be charged £8 instead of £6 Cheers peeps!
  17. <--- Er, just seen the IS in my Avatar, I pick up my GS next Sunday...
