  1. When I needed a family-type car, I test drove both the Honda Accord and IS200s. I was disappointed by the interior and the feel of the Honda, although have always liked Hondas. The IS felt more solid, more fun and I preferred the interior. The IS was great for what I needed, although the boot springs being where they are sometimes made it difficult to get huge amounts in, but it was fine for me. I've just moved on to the GS300 Sport, and really rate it - you should consider that too!!!
  2. And to think I bought a blue one to be different ;-) Congratulations, if you love it half as much as I love mine, it will be a very pampered car!
  3. At least we know if anyone's here was stolen, it would be easy to track!
  4. Righty-o, this is now sorted gentlemen! The event has indeed moved to the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre which is 10 minutes from Stoneleigh. We have 4 tickets for the outside concours thanks to Andrew Greenwood. I am working out with him the best way to get the tickets to Zee, Chris, John and Ilfraz and if you haven't already, please can you PM me your reg no's in case you need to pick them up at the gate. Please can you also PM me your addresses in case I need to get tickets sent straight to you. There is plenty of space for other LOC'ers to come along although you won't be on the main concours as we only have 4 spaces. The event times remain the same and the new address is: The Warwickshire Exhibition Centre The Fosse Fosse Way Leamington Spa Warks CV31 1XN www.warwickshireexhibitioncentre.co.uk
  5. I think I'm right in saying that only you can see your warn section. Basically I think it was a standard feature of the upgraded forum software and it's useful in helping deter people from continually breaking the Club terms and conditions. You'd really have to go some to get a warning, so I wouldn't worry about it too much! If you do want more info on this, as Supracharged says it should come up in a search, but hope this was helpful
  6. That's great news, well done! I don't have a flexible friend so need to send you a cheque. Please could you PM me with your address and who to make the cheque payable to and I'll get it off to you asap!
  7. How about silver or a more turquoise-blue?
  8. Unless my maths is really out (enirely possible, I'm not the best at figures!), I don't think it'll be too much dearer than running the IS for me. Petrol will make the most difference, but I'm finding I'm only <sigh> getting 30 miles less out of a tank of fuel. I found it difficult to get decent insurance quotes, but when I did, it came in about the same/bit cheaper than the IS. Awww, go on, you know you want one!
  9. I really rate my GS and don't think you would be disappointed. The SE always comes up well as some people aren't keen on the harder ride of the Sport (although it doesn't worry me). I'd have a look around as the one you mention looks a little over priced, but maybe you'll get a good deal on it? The GS is a different drive to the IS but it's a great combination of fun and (dare I say it) practicality!
  10. Not heard anything on yours, but I've now chucked in my IS for a Mk II GS300 Sport! What are you driving now and do you miss your Lex?
  11. Thanks Paul, I'm chuffed with it. I like yours, it does look good in black!
  12. That's bull about us not being booked, I booked it in with Andrew Greenwood personally. I'll find out what's happening - where did you hear this Scott?
  13. That's a good idea - the shock of Dr Scorp's advice is enough to get the ticker working again!!!
  14. After the success of Gaydon, surely there should be some other interested peeps?
  15. That's SOOOO not a good photo of me. I don't look very amused do I - Si says he was just spinning me round to look at the camera, but he's still laughing now Good day all, really enjoyed myself (nothing to do with the impromptu touch-up!!!)
  16. Nah, it's ok Steve, it's a funny shot - just can't believe your timing You've seen the other posts, after what I said to my boss, this really isn't that embarrassing
  17. There you go Zee, Steve's helping to enhance your reputation ;)
  18. C'mon peeps, it's obvious...TwoTone, you've obviously got a serious allergy to Lexus. That's a shame, Ruth'll just have to drive it for you from now on !!
  19. Local flasher.... keep him away from the hot exhausts ;)
  20. Err, thanks Steve. Mitch, looks as though you're safe on the photo front - it'll be me living down the embarrassment!!! Really lovely to see you all and meet some new faces as well as the usual suspects. Thanks also for driving sensibly and making the day a relaxing, fun event!
  21. Just to remind you - clocks go FORWARD on Saturday night! Most people will be getting to Gaydon from 10am-ish, but there will be people there from 9am. You'll be shown where to park, but as you come in to the museum, LOC and TOC are in the car park on the right hand side. Please drive carefully and stick to the speed limits when in the premises. The museum is open to the public and from a safety point of view (and for the sake of our club reputation), driving like a max-ed out muppet will do no one any favours. Look forward to seeing the old crowd and the new! PS. Bring your sunglasses - I've just had the car valeted back to showroom shine B)
  22. I know someone on here has converted their Mk I GS to LPG. What model do you have? I'd be interested to know if an LPG conversion was available (and worth it) for a Mk II GS300 Sport
  23. http://www.ctech3000.com/ I was sent the above link today. It's 'stuff' you install under your bonnet - the blurb says it's a catalyst injection system that helps burn fuel more completely. It promises to improve your fuel efficiency and the 'stuff' (can't work out what it is) is meant to last up to 30,000 miles. I wondered if anyone's seen this and knows if it's any good. I'm slightly sceptical but if it works I'd pay my money. Just don't know diddly squat on these sort of things.
