  1. As usual Peter, a great write up. I do enjoy reading your posts, keep it up. Graham.
  2. The only car I possess, do about 10k miles a year. Regards the wiring loom, this is my 6th LS and I have never seen the engine bay of any of them. Don't know 1 end of a spanner from the other. Lexus Guildford have looked after every one, a bit apprehensive on my first visit to them (16 years ago) re the stories of Main dealer prices but once you've built a relationship with them they really aren't that bad. Would recommend Guildford to all.
  3. Great write up Stuart. This is what the LOC is all about. All my best wishes for the future. Graham.
  4. SE-L wheels were 5 spoke, 19''. SE were 9 spoke 18''. I've had a look at the cars for sale in Dublin and all but 1 have the 19'' wheels. None of them have the pre-collision system which was a feature of the SE-L in the UK. I think you'll have to do a bit of ''Googling'' to find which options were fitted to the ROI versions. They all look quite nice. No cambelt on the 460's, they use a chain so no worries there. Buy the best one you can afford, you won't be disappointed.
  5. Hi Dan, welcome to the LOC. Great choice of model, had mine for 4 years and had no problems, 20 mpg average. There was a valve spring recall but that was about 6 years ago, the work was free of charge so it was probably done (easy to check). The boot was powered opening with an option to switch off, I think, I'm going back 5 years, have a look in the handbook. Wheel refurb in the UK about £250 - £300 the 4, not sure of the cost in Dublin The only recommendation I would make is to go for the SE-L model, many more features than an SE. As we all know, service history is a must. Good luck in your search. Graham.
  6. You're a clever fella Connor, that looks superb. The wheels really set it off.
  7. What's going on with these prices. Traded in my 07 plate 460 sel 100k miles 4 years ago and got £11k, which at the time, was a really good price.
  8. Very nice Mark, enjoy.
  9. Hi Phil, I got all the manuals, owners, quick guide and navigation. I assumed ( never assume) that being a LS 600hl premier all options would be installed. Not so. Seems that climate and radio voice controls were an option. Will have a drive to the dealers to see if they can be installed, if not, it's not the end of the world really.
  10. Picked up my new (to me) 2013 LS600 last week from a Lexus Main Dealer.Very different to my last LS gadgetry wise. Have spent ages trying to figure out where the rest of my options are in the Main Menu of Voice Commands. When I select the Main Menu it only shows 2 options, the Sat Nav and the Telephone. I really miss the Climate Options. I have searched the internet, you tube, Lexus Tutorials, etc. and every video shows more than 2 options. Where are the rest of mine? Just trying to save a 2 hour trip to the dealers. Thanks in advance.
  11. Sat and played in that for an hour while mine was being prepped for handover. Very nice indeed.
  12. It is indeed. Extending ottoman rear seat with relaxation massage.
  13. Hi Jonathan, welcome back to the LOC. I have recently exchanged my 600 RSR, windsor blue, ivory interior, at a Main dealer (for a newer 600, naturally) and as it has covered over 100k they will send it to auction. I've always been a bit wary of auctions, thinking that people put cars through them when they can't sell them privately, perhaps because of big problems looming. Not so with mine. I owned the car for 4 years, 2nd owner, and really looked after and pampered that car. Registered Jan 2009, just serviced and MOT'd, Hybrid Health Check, Lexus FSH. Someone will get a bargain, I reckon it will fetch less than £10k. That is going to be a great buy. Probably coming up in the next few weeks (waiting for plate change) I've registered with the auction site, BCA, so will be notified when the sale is due. Let me know if it's of any interest and I'll post up the sale date. Graham.
  14. 11 mpg from a 430 (something wrong methinks) I bet you're glad you changed.
  15. Good end result Mike, thanks for sharing. I might regret saying this, but I've never had a screen replaced in 50 years of driving.
  16. Hi All, on Monday morning I am changing my LS600 (2009) for a LS600 (2013) from a Lexus Main Dealer. I want to swap (keep) my wheels and tyres and put the wheels and tyres from the 2013 onto the 2009. Can they just do a direct swap and programme the TPMS or do they have to change the sensors from each wheel (putting the sensors from the 2013 wheels onto my 2009 wheels) ie; taking each tyre off then switching sensors, refitting tyres, balancing etc. A 1 hour job or a morning of hanging about. Anyone done this? Graham.
  17. 2007 SE L does have the auto parking. Had mine for 4 years and used the auto parking once, just a gimmick, takes ages to park. Mine came with a card-key, nice touch. Don't know whether a new card can be programmed but, if it could, I would think you're talking in the £hundreds. VED now £535. MPG wise, I probably averaged 18 to 20mpg. Great 4 years of ownership though.
  18. I had exactly the same just after Christmas. Power washed the front bumper and after a week they behaved perfectly, still are.
  19. The ''Grin novelty'' doesn't wear off. Have just sold mine after 4 years and even then, every day it was a pleasure to own and drive. Looks lovely, enjoy. Graham.
  20. I remember watching Clarkson reviewing the LS400 back in 1990. He finished his review with the words ''This is probably the best car I have ever driven'' That made my mind up that one day I will own a Lexus. Took me 10 years of waiting for it to reach my budget, but so glad I did. Have just purchased my 6th LS today. Thank you Mr Clarkson.
  21. Me keeping my fingers crossed must have helped. Sounds like you're pleased with the outcome. I do think insurance companies are being fairer these days. Well done.
