Neil, do you really need both replacing? I had 1 rear go, Lexus Guildford replaced. I suggested we change both and was told ''If it aint broke, don't fix it. I had the car a further 3 years before selling it and never had any problems with the original shock.

Theft Alarm UX 250h
graham8370 replied to Richard1200's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Had the same, 2 nights running. My wife (Miss Marple) cracked it. Street lights go off at midnight, pitch black. Neighbour opposite has movement sensor security lights. Mr Fox walks past, turns the lights on, Mr Moth wakes up and flies about. Alarm goes off, and believe me, at 2.30am that alarm is loud. -
Work in Shepperton (10 mins from Heathrow) and every morning Concorde would fly over at 11.05am. No matter how many times anyone saw it, everyone stopped and looked up. I live 2 mins from Brooklands where they have one which you can have a good look around ( and in ) Fantastic machine.

Yes, very. Only problem I've had is I had a Heart Attack the week-end after I bought it (don't think buying it bought that on) so in Hospital for a week, not allowed to drive for 4 weeks, an op. on my carotid artery so not allowed to drive for another week and now we're in lockdown. I've put about 3k miles on in nearly 9 months. But, no regrets, great car.

I think, and don't hold me to this, the LS from £76900 is the petrol twin turbo. Not available in the UK. The F Sport from £84300, rear 2wd, sports pedals, 2 zone climate, 10 spoke wheels, fabric interior. Premier Model, from £98000 All 4wd, 4 zone climate, front seat mounted entertainment screens for rear seat passengers, plus everything else really, Looks like they are now only supplying the Takumi spec, which is the Premier spec, with the upgraded Kiroko cut glass interior door handle surrounds and the hand pleated door cards, This is from memory when researching for mine, their "configure your LS" website does seem a bit confusing.

Alan Partridge's Lexus Is300 For Sale
graham8370 replied to Animal Mother's topic in Lexus General Discussions
I bought Bill Gates car, broke down last week, closed all the windows ,got out, opened all the windows and it's now ok. ''The old ones are best'' -
Brilliantly written James, a very enjoyable read.

Same thing with my LS500 (2018). Can hear the switch operating but the flap does not flip open. OK when the wife's with me (I press the switch, she uses her fingernail to prise it open) When on my own, open the boot, pull the cable from inside, (right hand) prise the flap with the left. Not convenient.

''RE the light.... If it is just a bulb and not the ballast, does the bumper need to come off? Is it a labour intensive job? '' When I had my 460 I also read stories that the bumper has to come off to change the bulb. However, it doesn't. Lexus Guildford took 10 minutes to change it, but the cost of the bulb was about £70. I asked whether the other bulb should be changed, as I thought, if one bulb was gone surely the other side, being on the same amount of time was due to blow as well. Was given the best bit advice from Guildford. IF IT AINT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT Probably had the car for two years after and never had to replace the other bulb. The same result when a rear shock absorber went on my 430. Replaced the one, the other lasted for many years after.

Sell car to overseas buyer - how to manage payment?
graham8370 replied to V1J4Y (VJ)'s topic in Lexus General Discussions
I'd be very careful. Cars I've sold in the past also generated lots of interest from overseas, also offering really good prices. All turn out to be scams. -
MOT time
graham8370 replied to is200 Newbie's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Always check at time of MOT. Happened to me a few years ago and was informed that MOT details can't be changed on the Gov. Website after 7 days -

Digging around, all I could find was that they fit a IS200 and and are described ac 'Front Door Cover, Service Hole' Anyone enlighten me?

Malc, had my 2009 Ls600 for 4 years, bought in 2013 with 70k miles (£25.5k). Replaced 1 rear shock after 78k, (£800, if i recall) and apart from servicing and tyres that was the only thing that went wrong. Sold in 2018 (£11.5k) one of the best Lexus I have ever owned (out of 7). I keep reading on this Forum that some Lexus's are appreciating in value. The only one appreciating is the one you want to BUY. Believe me, when you come to sell you will find that the only one 'NOT' appreciating in value is that one. If you come across a good 600, go for it. You won't be disappointed

Feel for you Mark, hope everything turns out OK. Best wishes to your Good Lady. -
Thanks David, will do. ''Interestingly the day before my diagnosis I bought the LS 400 - thought about selling it the next day! Glad I didn't!'' I bought my 500 on the Thursday for pick up Tuesday, Between I had the attack on the Sunday. Like you, I nearly called Gatwick on the Monday to pull out of the deal, and, like you, I'm glad I didn't.
