Hi postie, can you really control the ipod through car radio as you would ipod itself ? ie does it allow you to pick and see tracks or just playlists, as with other devices. Also is it pluged directly to radio or into cd changer, I have a rx400h.Tks

it works on playlists on my RX300 and it plugs into the back of the CD player so functions like sat nav and traffic alerts still work

there are loads of guides about i used http://gromaudio.com/grom_application_guide.pdf but do a search on google or search grom audio on eBay for more info on your car

i easily get 2 mountain bikes in the back of mine with the seats down-its the 2003 models onwards that have the facelift and i think the middle model is the best value for money sat nav remote boot etc only missing the air suspension really

it does seem good! so good i ordered one! will let you know how i get on once its fixed. i can mail you the fitting instructions etc. Grom audio website seems to have all the relevant info and i got easy step by step instructions from the usa version of LOC

I dont oftern visit the RX forum so him to you all.

Im after a bit of help and advice please, my little sis is after buying a used RX300 which I know nothing about.

She has between 15-19k to spend and wants to know what she can get for her money.

Went to Lexus Woodfood and saw a couple of SE's with MM these were 03/04 reg and were 16-17k with average miles, is this around right? Can we get newer or better spec with that budget?

She wants an 300 SE with MM in black and black leather, looking on the net these seem hard to find ,

Also, other that the obvious, is there anything we should look out for?

other tha wheel corrosion and the dreaded err3 theres not that much to look out for. i would make sure the test drive is over a few speedbumps to check for any lurching and have a play with remote boot and the bonnet struts (they should remain open when lifted). if all checks out she will have a great time with the car-good luck in your search keep us posted

have you pressed the auto button? i had to fiddle with the dashboard auto button and the on screen control before it got back to normal

definetly sounds like water vapour especially as its worse in cold weather

Been to look at a 04MY RX300 today and it had auto lift and closure for the tailgate, is this (was) this an option or even standard on the pre 03MY RX300?.....the secondhand 4x4 specialist dealer I saw today didn't even know there was a facelift at 03MY, he insisted it was the same car from '98 on :shutit:

Not yet an owner, but looking hard at the moment!

there was a major revision on the '03 models. facelift and auto tail gate amongst other changes-have a look on eBay at pre and post '03 models

have you tried ressetting the ecu? it could be an electrical fault

the motorised drive takes the angle down so you can seethe kerb-has the mirror itself moved within the glass? do you sit very low or very high in your seat? i think the mirrors could be adjusted so that they are as low as possible for normal use then they will dip to the correct level when reversing-other than that i'm stumped!

let us know if you find a better fix

I just dropped my rx300 at albin motors in sydenham for its 60k service. will let you all know how it goes but was impressed with the whole set up so far

If you ask, and perhaps even if you don't, he'll keep all the old parts and then go through them with you. I appreciated that a lot, as you can then sense whether everything that was replaced was fair game.

got the car back! great service as far as i can tell! everything was explained to me and he did a few extra jobs including a complete valet. very good service prompt and expertly carried out. this will be my garage from now on!

Back to Resident Evil! ive finished it and second time round you get to buy a chicago typewriter unlimited ammo machine gun and a unlimited rocket launcher both for 1000000pesetas each. they are awesome and make the second time round as good as the first-kicking ***** instead of running away from many enemies. the ada assisnment is good as well and gives extra dimension to the normal game. i havent tried the mercenary extra bit yet but am well looking forward to it! i agree with the comments above as my missus and her sis love watching me play-and that is a first!

My Wife's borrowed my car and apparently it's been overheating in London traffic. She had a look at the coolant level and thinks it's low. Is it OK to put water in to top it up, temporarily? The manual says it needs to be special ethylene glycol mix. Would the AA carry that sort of thing?

you can get that coolant from most petrol garages-just check the label for ethylene glycol not ethanol
