Over 2 NX’s I’ve seen a Premier spec (not Prem Plus) top out at 66, without AC (and once achieved 64 of that.. with a tail wind) then now my current FSport topping out at 59 but difficult to get anywhere near 50.. Both a Premier Plus spec and FSport have the wider larger wheel with a lower profile, so that has no immediate impact and usually with a heavy sunroof.. hence the combination of a Heavy car with greater resistance. Doesn’t sound like it’d make too much difference on paper but it does.. The other aspect is that the predicted range is based upon the last accum 10 journeys and is forever rolling. If your daily use mainly consists of higher speeds it’ll predict based upon that without the balanced opportunity to capture urban with natural regen in traffic opportunities. tbh, if you predict 50 and get mid 40’s from a charge or 14.3kWh (real world 13.5kWh) then that’s a great place to be and most likely translates to around 3.3m kWh which for a heavy awd car is excellent.. However…. If we all lived in a country with an all year round balmy temp that never got any higher than 25 but never lower than 16 then we’d all be getting very different numbers…2 points

Hi all. Just been to Malta for a short holiday and whilst I saw lots of Toyota cars I didn't see one Lexus! Maserati, Ferrari, loads of BMW and Range Rovers but not one Lexus. Anyone else noticed this or was it just my bad luck? Maybe European import restrictions I'm thinking.1 point

I'm going to keep an eye out on the IS preferably a slightly newer one 2017+ I do prefer the GS300h but the main user is my wife and she prefers the IS so I will stick with that1 point

Good decision. Its your hard earned money you deserve to be happy with your purchase. Its not everyday you spend on a depreciating asset. When you do, peace of mind and satisfaction are at least what id expect it to provide. Also cars from up north or the coast will have heavy corrosion unfortunately and the differential and areas around it are notorious for looking super rusty. Also if budget allows i would say check out a higher spec example, one that already comes with things you need like parking camera etc. alternatively do also check out the exec trim in the GS300h thats overall a better equipped and a more comfortable car but might cost a couple grand more.1 point

I think they're a handsome car even if some feel they aren't a true Lexus for some reason. They definitely drive like one imho. The first thing people remark upon when I give them a lift is the quiet ride!1 point

Frustrating as it is it sounds like the right decision. Good that the dealer has done the right thing in the end. Hopefully you can maybe find one within driving distance to see and test drive next time if you decide to still keep looking for one. This one might be worth a look: Lexus IS 300h Advance Saloon 2.5 300h Advance E-CVT Euro 6 (s/s) 4dr - Approved Used1 point

How long is it since you used the car? It's very unusual for the traction battery to just 'fail' without warning and even if the car has been stood and not used for about three months (or even longer) there should be enough charge in it. When you press the Power On or Start button, one of the very first things to happen is that the 12V battery operates two 12V relays that are configured as a safety interlock, which acts as a sort of 'gatekeeper' to the hybrid system. When the interlock operates, it then gives access to the hybrid system but if the battery hasn't got enough power to operate the relays, the hybrid system will not power up. If things are working correctly then the sequence is something like this: 12V battery boots the computers, does a couple of other things and also operates the interlock, which brings the hybrid system online, as shown by the green READY indicator. At this point, given sufficient charge in the traction battery, the car can be driven off on battery alone. When the hybrid system needs the petrol engine, it uses MG1 (Motor/Generator No.1) to spin the engine up to 1,000rpm before supplying petrol to the injectors and applying the sparks to ignite it. As a first move I'd be very much inclined to have the 12V battery load tested (drop tested).1 point

Update- I've rejected the and they will be collecting the car in the next couple of days and will get a refund Absolutely gutted about this but relieved at the same time as I will get my money back.1 point

Just been on ATS Euromaster website and they claim to have 235/50 R20 Alenza 001 Run Flats for £281.99 fitted.1 point

Nothing personal but just an honest question why buy a car that seems to spell trouble from the start? that is probably going to throw up various issues along the way???🤔1 point
-
You are sure it's not the 12v battery? A few months ago mine was dead when I got to it, turns out I had by not taking notice, managed to leave the ignition on for a few hours. The recovery guy flash charged the battery and I was up and running again. He then did a battery test and said it was OK, no trouble since. Battery is in the boot.1 point

free, but due to bulkiness perhaps it would be best for you to pick-up, would cost more to post them they are worth. I might be closer to Brum sometime and will let you know.1 point

Just received this from Lexus Customer Care. It took them four weeks to respond, but it looks comprehensive: The reason why this appears is because the multimedia system does not recognise your profile which might be due to a password change. You will need to be in your vehicle to follow the steps below: Step 1 - Remove your vehicle from the LexusLink+ App. - Select MyGarage > Scroll down and select Remove Vehicle (Close LexusLink+ app once vehicle is removed) Step 2 - Switch on your vehicle, accept the terms and conditions once the pop up message appears Step 3 - Select Settings > Select Info & Security > Select System Reset > System Reset complete message appears. Step 4 - Switch off the vehicle. Continue to follow the below steps: Launch LexusLink+ App to add your vehicle by scanning the QR Code within the multimedia system. Within the multimedia system: (Switch on the vehicle) Proceed to setup the vehicle with your preferred language Agree to terms and conditions on the screen for voice and multimedia system if prompted Then select the current driver, select 'connect your account' and select 'Link' to display the QR code Within the LexusLink+ App you will need to add your vehicle by scanning the QR code. Once the QR code is scanned your vehicle will be added to your LexusLink+ account and you will be advised to follow further instructions in the vehicle (and app). Make sure to accept the terms and conditions for voice and multimedia in the multimedia system. This should sync your profile information from your LexusLink+ account to the vehicle. (While this is syncing, in the LexusLink+ app you have the option to activate all the services within the Connected Services Centre) Once confirmed, then navigate to 'Personal Info' in the multimedia system and select 'Link Devices' and proceed to link your smartphone as the registered Bluetooth device or link to key (if you have the option). The next time you switch off/on your vehicle, your profile information should load up. I'm not sure Step 3 System Reset is necessary - I think this might delete all my settings which I have carefully customised over the last year. Hope this helps.1 point

I have just been to check out a couple of cars for my son and we had a look at a Honda Civic. The first owner had the first three services done but the second owner had just driven it without any maintenance at all for 20K miles. The oil was like treacle, this will not do the engine any good. Needless to say it was not purchased. Even if the car is not serviced at least change the oil and filter every 12 months!!1 point

You can't park a Toyota Hotpoint next to the LS. 🤣 Get a Dacia Sandero. They are so basic that every time you get in the LS400 you will feel you are in the lap of luxury 😁1 point

Thanks everyone for your helpful replies. On the off-chance, I called Lexus HQ and eventually got through to a real person. I explained the situation in general terms, without discussing the individual dealer, and the person I spoke to was surprised at the way I had been treated. He suggested I should definitely speak to the manager of the particular branch. I think he was probably right in saying the issue is between myself and the dealer, not Lexus itself. As the car is approaching a routine service I'll follow it up then. Watch this space!1 point

Nah, the Camry is an ES300… so if you think the ES is too big then the Camry is too big I had a rental Camry when I went to LA and I found it very comfortable and a nice car but over there parking spaces and streets etc are much bigger than in the uk.1 point

Too late, got it for 3k. I'm tired of looking for this damn car, I'm never gonna find the perfect one and I might not have the money for it one day. I'll deal with what comes next and see how it goes. The extra cable to the battery is an aftermarket amp which has been taken out, I will also take out the wire and try cleaning it up. Has some missing engine bay panels and fastners and also the windshield side trims and top, I'll tidy it up little by little.1 point

That's the way my mind was thinking. I was just wondering if anybody had experience of using the Chinese ones from eBay? Something strange has happend. A few days ago I set the suspension to 'high' and the shocks to 'sport', and the creaking stopped. Then a few days later I set the suspension back to normal height, and there was still no creaking. Now I have also turned 'sport' mode off and there is still no creaking! I'll let you know if things change. All I've got to do now is fit my new radiator. The one I have has a split in the top header and was fitted 5 years ago, it was a £100 from eBay. My local main dealers parts department has quoted me £650 just to supply a new OE one! So it's back to eBay for another £100 replacement. No inflation there in the last 5 years ! ! !1 point

Interesting !!! I've always been a "set and forget" guy when it comes to damping. Even when I bought a new dirt bike I just rode it with the factory settings and never changed them. In a car that meant settling for a ride that was good for normal road use, but not really firm enough for track use. Reading up on the latest version of the EDFC system, it sounds like it may now be possible to get the best damping for all conditions... applied automatically on the fly 🙂 I now have no choice but to do due diligence on the EDFC to check out the installation details and costs. Now that I have the coilovers installed, the hard part is already done. Thanks for the input.1 point

Tein Flex Z installed exactly to Tein's recommendations, and have had a couple of runs over my usual test track. That's a square set of 18 x 8.5 wheels with 255/40-18 rubber all round. The OD of these tyres is the same as the OD of the factory staggered set of 19 inch wheels with 40/35 profile tyres. The Teins dropped the front by 25mm and the rear by 12mm compared the the Bilstein setup, which was in turn about the same height as stock suspension. Got about 100mm clearance under the front lip and if that doesn't cause a problem, I'll leave it at that for the time being. Subjective impression from test drives is that the ride is now smoother and a lot of the sting has gone out of the small irregularities encountered during suburban driving. They can still be felt but impact has been reduced. The ride now has a more sophisticated feel to it... more how even a "sports sedan" from Lexus should feel 🙂 If you like a firm "sports car" ride, then the Bilstein setup would be more to your liking due to the stiffer B6 valving. The Teins are obviously valved a bit softer at the recommended settings (8 clicks from full hard in front and 6 clicks in the rear) and this makes the springs seem "softer" even though the Tein spring rate is much the same as OEM. That's a tradeoff that I'm happy to accept for the smoother ride. Curiously, the car seems a bit quieter now as well 🙂 Cheers...1 point

I've been debating in my mind whether getting these stickers to support the fitment of the (Lexus fitted) tracker to my NX would be a good thing or not. On the one hand I can see the benefit of potentially warning off a would-be thief (and avoiding the damage they cause to the wheel arch; etc.) however my fear is that this may induce the professional gangs to immediately, after taking the car away, start dismantling it (which they may ultimately do anyway for the parts they desire) to try to locate the tracker. Maybe it's better to not advertise the fitment of a tracker and thereby put doubt in their mind and force them to park it up somewhere for a day or two and wait to see whether the owner or the police come to recover it? I guess this may depend on whether you would want to get your car back with the wheel arch and wiring loom potentially needing expensive repairs.1 point

Have already posted in the UX 250h branch of the forum, but didn't pick up this beauty until today. Got home with her a couple of hours ago. My first Lexus - having gone from a 15 year old BMW 325i Touring (a lovely car I was sad to see the back of). Very cool, in very in-yer-face Blue....am so looking forward to wafting around in her😉1 point

Have you checked the service history online - may be just the paperwork is missing? Personally I would not be happy with a car that has done 18,000 miles without an oil change and it would certainly affect it's resale value.1 point

How very infuriating and disappointing. I can see that it puts you in a very invidious position, Alistair. Do you reject the car on the basis that Lexus is in Breach of Contract, or do their Terms of Business reserve the right to change the model specifications without notice. They may claim that Lexus reserves the right to change the specification and it doesn’t alter the material performance. If you reject the car how long will you have to wait for one that’s correctly specc’d? And can you get a free loan car from Lexus because you sold your existing car solely in the reasonable expectation that Lexus would deliver what you had paid for? Have you actually registered this error with the Dealer? If so, what was their response? Did they mess up the Order or are they also victims to a lesser extent? Depending on those answers - and how strongly you feel about it - you might want to consult a Solicitor before taking further action. It may be that the Dealer will offer a refund as compensation, or are there extras that you might accept, such as a SpaceSaver wheel, top of the range dashcam, and such like? At least you now have the car and can settle down to enjoy it. You may find that will compensate for a lot of disappointment. 😊1 point

37511-30020 Thats the part number for the Mk4 Supra coupling. I know some of the specialists have stated theres no bonding, its just bolted as you'd expect. Some of them have also stated that they've had cracks showing for 50k+ miles and they get no worse, not even when supercharged, i assume there are steel wires or such actually providing the strength internally and everything is coated in rubber, which obviously degrades to some degree over time.1 point
