Earlier this year I had an unrepairable puncture in one of my original Dunlops, but none were available in the U.K. I searched, read reviews, and compared the construction of tyres etc, and went for the Yokohama Blue Earth. In fact not only would I recommend this tyre, but when my Dunlops need changing, these will be my tyre of choice. I paid £177 from Mr Tyre, if that helps.3 points

Just found this https://car-recalls.eu/recall/lexus-nx-2021-2023-e-call/ Never had a letter from Lexus so I guess I need to contact the dealer. God knows why it wasn't picked up at the recent service.2 points

Double DOH! I took the battery out and then noticed there was a little sticker on the one side. Took it off, same battery back in, hey fing presto! ☺️2 points

Lexus Perfected this technology on the LS430 - I very rarely have to touch the wiper stalk - they work perfectly in all conditions and mines had a replacement screen in the past. Its a pity technology which was perfect in 2004 has gremlins now!2 points

I sent an email to the dealer, and they confirmed in writing that it is a fixed price of £580, including parts and labour. Spark plugs, oil filters, and all parts quoted for replacements are included. They also offered to replace the air filter for free. I think I will bite their arm off..2 points

Just a thought, Jules… I suspect that the insured value of a car of that age is so low that any repair estimate would exceed it. That may well make it a write off - but that doesn’t mean it should be written off! By the sound of it, it’s predominantly superficial body damage - which can be repaired, just not economically by an Insurance Company. It might be worth you investigating the possibility of receiving payment for your insured loss while retaining the actual car from the Insurers. Maybe have a good body shop give you an estimate for its repair - which will almost certainly be considerably less than the total cost of a claim to the Insurers. I might add that if the Insurers write it off, it might well end up in a body shop being repaired anyway - or being broken up for spares.2 points

With 134k on the clock 9k is too much money to be honest. Not many potential buying will take a punt on that mileage, which is all wrong as mechanically they a good for 250k but in the UK it’s the corrosion to the underside components that’s the killer ! Prices have dropped since I purchased mine 🙄, 10k should buy a good car with sensible mileage and all the mechanical bits serviced now. All the 13k examples on AT are just collecting dust.2 points

As above, if anyone is needing some all seasons for their NX, just had 4 fitted at Costco for £508, including balancing, fitting and nitrogen. Had my 3rd service and first MOT at the weekend and that flagged the fronts were down to 2mm. Main dealer price to fit was north of £700, so a good saving to be had at the minute.1 point

With a 2016 model you will still potentially have 2-years Relax warranty cover.1 point

It really does depend on the condition & the service history record. Dont be afraid to get on your knees & take a look underneath from the back of the car a 2014 may have developed abit of corrosion by now rust spots in comparison to a 2016 model. I do find cars that have generally been kept up in the North region have more corrosion I.e Scotland etc where the road salt/grit Rots the underside but again it may be kept as a 2nd car being rear wheel drive may not be used in snowy conditions at all. Running gear etc will be the same may see an improvement on face-lift model better LED headlights but for me it's the F Sport over the other trims. All the best!1 point

maybe up to 5 mpg compared to a non F-Sport on 17" wheels and probably only 1 or 2 mpg compared to a non F-Sport with 18" wheels. Wheels are the biggest contributing factor but the F Sport is also slightly less aerodynamic than the others.1 point

F Sport all day - Interior Speedometer Lexus LFA Sport dials - Rose red leather option - Heated Seats & cooled seats - Front bumper & mesh grill looks sportier - 18" Alloys again look the part - Aluminium sports pedals + The resale value attracts buyers As for MPG all depends on your driving style ranges anywhere from 35-50MPG on mine recommend the F Sport just get one that's not been tampered with so called modifications that just make it look scruffy IMO.1 point

On plus side my LS430 has done Wick to Edinburgh (approx 230 miles) on 1/2 tank of Tesco's 99 momentum petrol.1 point

Quick update, my mpg was between 38-39 over recents tanks. Filled up immediately after the tyres were fitted at Costco and this tank is averaging just under 43 mpg. Anyone else found cross climates improved their mpg compared the the stock Yokohama’s?1 point

Hi took me 8 hours to drive from Wick to Edinburgh. Sat nav says 5 hours. Don't what was worse the weather, standing water or driving standards. Next task is MOT by 24th of June. Have one issue ASL? light is flashing constantly. My copy of techstream needs another code to get it to work 🙄. Might see what lexus would charge me 🤣🤣🤣. Does anyone know if this light is an automatic fail for MOT.1 point

I had my GS serviced last November three days after the relax warranty ran out. They found a leaking driveshaft seal and initially said I’d have to pay as it was out of warranty. I politely complained and mentioned that I had been using this particular dealer for servicing for four years and that if they are going to be this stingy I may as well forget the relax warranty and get it serviced independently in future. They changed their mind as a good will gesture. It’s always worth asking!1 point

Hi, I would suggest the following: ensure that the latest software version 2050 has been installed. Get the dealer to set up the driver account profile to your phone, otherwise you can get annoying pop-ups. I asked to be shown how to disable the alarm sensor for ferry crossings, and how to change the speedometer to km/h. Set up HUD to your preference ie full, reduced or off. How to connect and remove the tow bar (there’s a knack) and how the electrical connection is swivelled into place. I spent time looking through the manual in advance to make up my check list…. All the best1 point

Malcolm......I received the same message for my vehicle from the Lexus Checker. My NX had it's first service just last week (similar to Chris's post above) and they never mentioned it when I picked up the car. Annoying that the checker doesn't give any detail, a safety recall should mean we receive a letter from Lexus so maybe it's a campaign issue? I'm none the wiser.1 point

Check for water in the boot well. The government MOT checker also states if there are any outstanding recalls on the vehicle, or use the Lexus online tool: https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/vehicle-recall1 point

A simple check is do all the windows steam up when the car is parked in the sun, this is a sign of water ingress somewhere in the vehicle.1 point

Yes, the no leeway is a problem. During the the last 2 years, I have 'lost' a total of 5 weeks. I like to have the MOT and service done during the month before it's due, so unless I have it done on the anniversary date of the previous service, I lose those weeks. This year I'm going to get my MOT done elsewhere early, and then the Lexus service a couple of days before the warranty expires.1 point

Water leaks, very common, expect all to have suffered by now. Ask for any history or better yet, look at the weld joints on the rear boot and compare with photos from this forum. Inverter, no idea Battery health, assuming you mean mean the hybrid battery, just more than it don't ever go full on the indicator, but will charge and discharge during a typical drive £5k will get you a good one. Look for the usual service history records and ideally recent battery check and cambelt change1 point

Very interested in this info. I wonder what the response would be if I put this to my dealer. Can I ask if you bought the car from them? I'm assuming you did!1 point

Hey man, I was in the same boat as you a couple of years ago. Really love the look of them, but after test driving it and I realised it wasn't the car for me at the time. Nothing wrong with the car at all, it's just my expectations were a little too high. It looks beautiful and sporty. I was expecting it to drive like a sports car and while the handling & seating position are brilliant, it's lacking oomph to back up the looks in my opinion. Mind you, it was my mistake expecting it from a hybrid powertrain that's in lots of other lexuses. It's built for comfortable cruising / commuting. It would make a perfect daily, but it's no tarmac ripper. If you don't care about the performance aspect of them I would say you'll be happy with it. I was only unhappy about it because it would be my only car, so I was expecting a little more fun from under your right foot. To clarify, it isn't out right slow, especially in real life conditions (commuting to work etc). The hybrid system gives you a lot of instant torque so it feels quite good until higher speeds. As what to look out for.. there isn't much really. Make sure it's got the basics like full service history by lexus (so it qualifies for the 10 year warranty but not sure if Ireland do this), both keys, see how the boot lid feels to close. I know some people had issues with the boot lid but a little bit of WD40 in the latch solved it. Also make sure to try Sport/+ modes compared to eco and feel the difference in the suspension damping. If you can't feel an obvious difference there is something wrong with the dampers. Also an issue some forum members had. Can't remember exactly what the cause was. Bottom line, it's a great reliable and efficient car for a vast majority of people, but don't be fooled by it's sporty looks like I was.1 point

It’s hard to see the paint spotting on the camera, but the scraping smudged areas can seen. Dealer couldn’t polish them out, although may need a heavier compound. The marks are literally every where. Think my boot lid is okay except for some overspray from another panel being repainted. I should have checked the car better, I was more concerned with mechanical items after my last experience. Just didn’t believe I would be buying a car in need of a full respray I guess. I think the previous owner washed it with a Brillo pad.0 points

I've not had a recall. I checked the DVLA website and nothing on there. However, Lexus own vehicle checker came up with "Your Lexus is subject to a voluntary customer service campaign or outstanding safety recall." but gave no further details!0 points

Hi all, Just to provide an update on this, the dealership were not interested and tried to pal me off. Took it to several body shops, one of which was a Lexus approved centre, and they have all stated the majority of the car has been poorly resprayed. With filler in the rear wheel arches to several areas. At least one of the wheels was replaced on the last (only service) so it would appear it has been in an accident of some kind. Ive raised an official complaint and left a review, over to Lexus for now. If i dont get any joy its through the ombudsman. The approved body shop quoted £6,500.00 to fix as pretty much the whole car needs respraying.0 points

I got my NX450h in June '23 and have not had this recall. Had first service last week and no mention of SOS switch on the paperwork.0 points

Quick update...... It seems towbars are VERY expensive to retrofit on the new RX. I got quotes from 2 other Lexus dealerships - one was £1900 and the other £2050. Crazy!0 points
