  1. Evening folks hope your all well. Just completed the first of our pilgrimages to Cornwall give or take a couple of miles about a 700 mile round trip. Got to tell you the UX was a most enjoyable relaxed ride. Mostly all motorway apart from the A30 run into Cornwall which is now dual carriageway. The seats were comfortable no problems there and there was no noticeable wind or tire noise. I used the radar cruise very good what an innovation this is. We stay in a caravan so we took quite a heavy load down with us lowered back seats to get it all in no problem at all the under boot floor storage was utilized to great effect. Didn't need to put any air in tires going or coming home .TPMS registered same pressure all tires. Fuel well i remember you telling me you get better performance in summer as opposed to winter with a hybrid. I also remember on another thread someone posting about the drive modes. I used to leave it in Normal as the dealer told me. Then someone posted he was told Eco in town normal on b road and sport on motorway. Ive done this with varying results on regular runs i do. Going to Cornwall i did this and i achieved 51mpg of which im well happy. im now at 4K plus miles and my mpg has improved greatly may well be the warmer weather or the fact I'm driving in Eco a lot more. So to sum up a very enjoyable ride and the UX met all my expectations and my demands and needs.

  2. I saw these photos on a motor based website. It's a custom NX which is going to the SEMA show in the states. To me it looks outrageously brilliant. That's me. I know it isn't to probably 95% of Lexus folks taste but I just had to post those pics. No offence meant but just to enlighten.

  4. Well worth doing, found this in my Caldina : Shouldn't be too much from Lexus or a local motorfactor (or even shop online for one).

  5. A friend of mine recently picked this one up and he's rather taken with it.

  6. I’ll start it off although I’m not sure how many Forum members are sports fans. We don’t seem to discuss sport, including motorsport which is my #1. That was some game against Ukraine last night. A performance that any other top team would have been proud of. 4-0 in an international football tournament is one hell of an achievement. Well done England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

  8. The 2.0 litre Corolla hybrid estate is a very nice looking car with a good engine. It would be a car to tempt me away from Lexus in the future. Used of course!

  9. 2.0 engine is much nicer. Smoother, quieter and more powerful - but it depends on your priorities as it uses more fuel and is quite a bit more expensive.

  10. Your Owners manual should tell you how to set speakers, treble, bass and fader levels etc. Your Car may differ from my early LS. Mention of the GS system on page 132 gives info how to adjust. Something about "each time you push the Audio Control Knob". I'm no expert on this and maybe you've already messed with the various settings without joy? Check your Manual.

  11. If I was replacing my 2015 Auris Hybrid I would have the Corolla TS in Scarlet flare or Denim Blue. Would probably go for the 1.8. Also probably go for the less popular Trek model. as get Power tailgate, keyless entry and lighter seats. I think the Corolla looks great, more so in estate form. James.👍

  12. @Malc Good on you for having that car. It was my first choice before the IS220 which I ended up getting as a means to an end. I might still get a LS400/Celsior import by the end of this year. I'm gonna maintain this car as best as I can, but I think it's more of an uphill battle.

  13. It's an older term that was more appropriate before in-built screens displayed video or allowed multiple source inputs such as iPod, bluetooth, USB etc. The challenge you have with the GS430 is that the climate control system is operated via the screen, without any physical buttons, so you cannot lose that functionality. So you need a unit that fits in place of the old system but has enough room to accommodate all the existing computer system, plus accepts the input of the old system so you can still operate the climate. I'm sure there are systems out there but I'm not aware of them. The other option is a unit such as the GROM VLine which will use the existing display but give you additional functionality - the problem there is the very small and low resolution of the factory installed LCD screen: https://www.gromaudio.co.uk/products/vl1-infotainment-upgrade/lexus-toyota-2003-2005-grom-vline-infotainment-system-upgrade-video-interface-lex3vl2.html

  16. Yes. Hint: It's in your manual... page 172 of "YOUR NX - OWNER MANUAL" under "One Touch Opening" https://www.lexus.co.uk/forms/manuals/owners-manual

  17. I suppose it could be faulty manufacturing, anyone’s guess these days where the stuff is made! Hopefully covered by some sort of warranty given the age and mileage done on it.

  18. They are all normally one touch “All Auto” so press and release should raise/lower the windows fully. There are personalisation settings but nothing mention about the windows, anything in your handbook? https://www.lexus.com/documents/brochures/service/my19/19NX-300_CST_NAV.pdf Try as Luigi suggests all the way down and hold the button for 5 seconds after then back up fully and hold again 5 seconds all from driver’s switch panel.

  19. You’ll get a warning message before the battery goes flat and, if my memory serves me right, the audio, if this is the culprit, automatically switches off either simultaneously with the warning or very soon after it.

  21. No, it uses the small 12v battery. It's very easy to flatten it in short time, e.g. listening to music.

  25. If you want to fill the arches either 225/55/17 or 235/50/17 tyres with the correct load index and speed ratings, expect to pay in excess of £100.00 per corner for premium brands. Also check the centre bore size of the wheels, Lexus has 60.1mm anything smaller will not fit the hub and anything larger can be reduced with a set of spigot rings for around a fiver. Also check the type of wheel nuts required as most aftermarket wheels use tapered nuts whereas Lexus wheels use sleeved nuts. Using the incorrect type could damage the wheels or the wheel could become loose.

  26. I did but the First Aid kit had expired, no coins either but I did find a half eaten stick of rock from Cleethorpes after removing the bottom seat cushion. I also did a history check which was a bit vague but given the stick of rock and the “We Love Skegness” sticker in the window I assume it has always been local trips.

  27. Yes that is correct; I've been wasting my time! Seems to have been a very recent change which now makes it part of the MOT:

  34. Just wanted to thank Herbie, (Lydiamight 😂), Neo GFS & Ryaans for putting my mind at rest. I'm now the proud owner of a new to me RX450H F Sport (with whiney fast acceleration! 🤭). Many thanks. Wonder if the person who buys my 2010 RX450h SE-L will appear on here? Fingers crossed she goes to a good home.

  35. You can use the Tape deck with one of those Casettes that plugs into your phone. Not the best sound but Lexus slow at introducing Aux socket to units.

  38. I've done the whole '2 cars' thing in the past and just found it to be too expensive in the long run. Its worth a go if you have something a bit more specialist and just want a bog standard daily driver to accompany it. 2003-2005, I owned a 1991 Trans Am GTA at one point and after a few months of using it as a daily driver decided to buy a tired but tough as nails Mazda 323F as a runabout. Two sets of insurance, tax, MOT etc though does start to grate but as a daily the 350ci V8 Trans AM was starting to hit my wallet. The main problem though was not being able to really carry much kit about. A bit of a problem if you are an IT contractor. God knows how but in 2010 I also ended up with a Honda Accord 3.0 V6 Coupe and a MG ZT CDTi+ on the books for about 6 months. I bought the Honda as an 11 year old car but with barely 30k on, 1 owner with a full dealer stamp. Was planning on selling the MG at the same time but the market had crashed for this car and was looking at a fairly big loss. Kept them both but the two sets of expenses soon started to hit so the ZT went onto Ebay and inevitable big loss occurred. Don't think I'd have gained anything by keeping it for longer and have no off road storage. To get back totally on topic though. My GS covers all my needs. A fantastic daily driver. But slightly 'rare' and different to give me that non conformist kudos. Very nearly bought a Carlton GSi 3000 24v that a friend was selling cheap, but thankfully my more sensible side took over. As much as I wanted one at the time...it just seemed a plasticky, notchy, poorly equipped potential money pit that offered nothing that my GS does.

  39. No I would not drive the car without an under tray the crap getting into the components around the front of the engine would be catastrophic. Get some light gauge aluminum sheet from a scrap yard and rivet a skin across the crack.

  40. absolutely YES and YES mine at 232k miles alongside her Honda Legend 56 plate at 134k miles both magnificent daily drivers Malc

  41. Few more recent pics, whilst I continue to use and enjoy the car I may also be in a position and in the market for an ISF. So until the right one pops up I’ll be keeping the 250

  44. No doubt it's largely down to age (although some younger people are attracted) but I like to listen to songs/music mainly pre 1980 when songs had a good melody, were clearly annunciated and not just a noise! Here is one by Matt Monroe, regarded by many as good as if not better than Sinatra and possibly the best male singer of his genre that England has produced. Llisten to perfect pitch, tone and clarity. Nice scenery and the Muira From 'The Italian Job.'
