Well after the shock last year of the MOT failure of my IS250 due to a worn o/s rear wheel bearing we had success on Friday with just one advisory on uneven tyre wear on the insides of the rears. I must get the tracking checked, I've never had it done. Well I am hoping for another reliable and stress free year of motoring putting another 12000 miles to add to the current 137000, wish me luck.2 points

Hello to everyone I own Lexus NX300h (2015) During the summer I travel a lot around the Europe (mostly motorways) I love my car, and I do not want to change it yet but wanted to improve economy, so I was thinking about LPG installation here goes the unknown I asked few LPG dealers about NX300h and I am confused Most of them says they do not convert direct injection engines I thought that NX200T or NX300 are equipped direct injection engines not NX300h I believe I have 2AR-FXE engine and I think this is port injection engin but want to know for sure. Has anybody here converted Lexus NX300h to LPG in UK? thanks.1 point

While you are in there remove the black plastic trim pieces from the edges of the wheel arches ( 4 or 5 cross head screws) and jet wash the arches, use the hose on normal pressure to clean out the arch lips and clean the trims before refitting.1 point

Rockauto have a pair of rear links for £11. If you pay vat up front and choose FedEx it should still save on UK prices.1 point

Toyota century, top rung of toyota japan models. They do a v8 and a v12 model, a car to be driven in, more than drive. They have inbuilt air purifiers, fridges, electric everything even back in the late 80s early 90s. Well ahead of their time. They have wool seats instead of leather. The front passenger seat centre (lumbar area) folds down so the rear seat passenger can lay out and go to sleep. I saw one when I picked up my crown vx the other week. Check out Pacific coast autos on youtube, there is a few videos of these and many other old school Toyota gems on there1 point

Hi Moonwalker, just had the same issue with not being able to find CrossClimates in 20'. After a bit of research and ringing Lexus dealer where i got the car, i ended up with Yokahama Geolander. Had them on for a few weeks and i can say they are fine. Quiet, and far far cheaper than the Dunlop SportMax. Lexus were offering these tyres themselves so thought i would give them a go.1 point

Hi Darrin. I Invested in a karcher, two buckets and a load of products recommended by my detailer, even bought a hot air blower to dry the awkward bits. Only takes three hours to wash and dry now. Wife not happy. No more public car hand washes any more.1 point

I had mine fully detailed and a 5 year ceramic coating put on for €210 with wheels and leather done as well so far far cheaper than a dealer. As with any coating it needs to be looked after so it would be best to read up on what they suggest. I would say though certainly no going to those hand car washes any more as they will use the very harsh chemicals to get the car clean.1 point

The next morning (Wednesday) I went to the car and............all was well again. I didn`t need Sat Nav for my drives to St Andrews, Leuchars, Cupar or Falkland, so I switched off the system. We checked out on Thursday morning and headed for Westerhope in Newcastle. Sat Nav was fine initially, then it failed sound -wise again. I made it to my location by following the route shown and much good advice from Mrs Roy who watched the map whilst I watched the road. Never used the system on Friday for driving around Newcastle. We were fortunate in that HMS Northumberland was docked in the Tyne and I enjoyed the biggest scone I have ever had in The Lock a smart cafe on the Quayside. Blue uncloudy skies and 6 degrees made for an enjoyable stroll along the Tyne banks. We had to leave this morning as the news was full of an impending storm (Ciara) which would probably affect our journey back to the Wirral had we stayed until tomorrow. I took a wrong turn and went through the Tyne Tunnel, so retraced my steps, tried the Sat Nav again and it was perfect.Brought me all of the home via Tebay Services, so I will pop in and speak with Tom at Lexus Chester on Monday.I am formulating a possible explanation which surrounds the two electronic keys I had on my person or one in the boot. I will report back later in the week. Needless to say, the GS itself performed faultlessly, the drive was serene and extremely satisfying without aches or pains.1 point

I got 17 mpg on a 40 mile trip to Stirling today on the motorway cruising at 60mph. Seems very thirsty overall haha. I remember when my friend's Range Rover Sport SVR got 15mpg and that is a V8!1 point

John has covered this but by illegal I mean that without a license from Offcom you cannot transmit on that frequency in the UK without breaking the law. The car's TPMS receiver on a UK vehicle wouldn't detect that frequency either so not only would it be illegal, it also wouldn't work (which unfortunately you have discovered). The same is true for keyfobs too - don't purchase ones outside of Europe and expect them to work.1 point

I think it's brilliant that you're taking care of a majestic old girl! The more I think about my 93 LS the more I realise how it surpassed my later 4 LS's in reliability.1 point

John, Get some ProSlip greases https://www.amazon.co.uk/ProSlip-Caliper-Lubricant-Toyota-Mercedes/dp/B07886FP12/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Proslip&qid=1580559800&sr=8-1. These may be on our site somewhere and be discounted. Also leave keys in the house so you can't accidentally switch on whilst discs are off. John1 point

It's been a few months of ownership now and I realise the lexus protection paint pack is not as I thought it would be. So off I went to my local detailer and after one week I have a full Ceramic coat and It looks awesome. Highly recommend. VID-20200111-WA0010.mp41 point

If it's the latest Lexus protect stuff, actually it's GEN3 glass coat, the GEN3 website specifically says not to use waxes or polishes. Their Glasscoat wash solution works really well if somewhat uninspiring, absolutely no suds at all .. They say the coating is safe with "well maintained" car washes.1 point
