  2. Well car collected this afternoon. Very pleased with the look of the wheels. They have advised me not to pressure wash them for a couple of days. Whilst the car was there it was MOT'd and they took a look at the reversing camera which I thought was often slow to switch in. The result is that they couldn't find any issue but from previous experience suspect a media hard drive problem. Lexus Warranty have authorised the replacement of the media hard drive unit which I understand costs a wallet busting £1800. For convenience this will be changed at next service as the unit has to be shipped form Japan. Well done Lexus Cheltenham .

  3. My '05 Saab 9-5 Aero is the first car I've ever owned that specifies the use of 98RON in the handbook. It even warns against the use of anything else. I can continue my V-Power affectation with a clear conscience. Goes like the clappers too.

  4. Just replaced the Bank 2 Sensor 1 Lamba, talk about an awkward location! Just about got it done with an offset socket, ordered a standard one at first but no clearance on top to get a bar or anything into it, far too close to the firewall. Two more night shifts then planning to remove the decal stripe the previous owner decided to paste down the car & then replace all rotors and pads before MoT next friday.

  6. The drivers side washer stopped working on my Daughter in Laws series 3 RX450H. She was quoted £50.00 by Lexus dealer to fix. The problem was the "T" piece connector on the underside of the bonnet and I believe a common failure. Found this: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JB4PNYQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 on Amazon for £2.99. Comes direct from China but only took just over a week to arrive. Longest job was removal of the bonnet liner to gain access, the part only took 5 mins to fit. Now works correctly.

  7. Member "Herbie" is correct in that to bleed the brake system fully Techstream is required. The brake system is more complex because of the requirement for a transition from regen braking to combined regen and mechanical brakes, and finally to mechanical only "normally below 7 mph", and the operation of ABS, and VSC systems. John.

  8. Never had to do the job but I do believe that if the brakes need bleeding then you need to use Techstream for it.

  9. I think the darker colour is a better contrast with the white paint personally - nice colour 👍🏻

  10. With ES 300h when you are on a roundaboud and you step on it a bit harder in the middle of the way nothing particularly interesting will happen. Another example when you join main road. I like that feeling of rear axel escaping a bit to catch the traction after short while and then start accelerate. You can also have some fun when there is a bit of snow but then it is better to go for some bigger car parks as snow is less predictable and after all we all thinks about safety. In GS and especially 450h in sport+ you can have some good/fun ride as seen above. It all coming back to definition of a good ride isn't it ? Everyone expect something else. Not everyone will go for a track day, do 155mph on Germany motorway or drive sideways from time to time. That why for some ES 300h is boring to drive while for another it is perfectly fine. For me GS 450h is perfect mix. It got nice interior and luxury/comfortable feel/drive but then if you want to have some fun it is also there. For me also it doesn't need to be faster as if I'm after under 5s acceleration I'm switching to my motorcycle.

  13. On My RX300 the low fuel light comes on with around 50 miles range left on the info display. I've run it down past zero miles on the info display by a further 5 miles and still ran the car to a petrol station. Not by choice, but when I was out in the sticks late at night in an unfamiliar area trying to find an open petrol station. That night I understood what electric vehicle drivers feel regarding range anxiety.. :-)
