  1. Cheers James. May be able to remap sooner than you think! Pretty sure once Rafi and Simon have bench read my ECU next month, they can send the maps to me to upload to the OBD II reader I will be getting, and I can then remap other IS F's as well. Exciting times!

  2. Couldnt resist the read and work took a back seat. Fantastic article, think you have single handedly raised the profile, desirability, awareness, appreciation and probably used prices of all ISF's across the UK, all very very good things. Surely there isnt another ISF or owner better placed to be featured. A credit to you and Banzai. As a by product... I can say that my personal parts importer had his car featured in Banzai. Kudos all round

  3. Hello, I purchased a warranty in March last year on the advice of the service manager at my local dealer. Six months later it went in for a service when I was advised I needed one rear shock absorber and a new water pump. I asked if these items were covered and after 20 minutes got a phone call back to say Lexus warranty had confirmed both items were covered and the job was done the same day. I did ask about replacing the pair of shocks but as only one was leaking that was all that could be changed. So whilst agreeing I only needed one changing It was done with no quibble. I must say I think the wear and tear argument is very poor and not what I would expect. Best idea is to have the MOT done elsewhere. Pete

  5. I to find the dipped headlamps on the GS very poor. I have not yet looked into the possibility of dismantling the headlamps to see if cleaning the lens, and reflector would make any improvement. The lens does look milky from the front of the lamp unit. I have had many cars in the past with D2S headlamps with much brighter output. My Prius with ordinary halogens performed better than the GS on dipped beam. John

  7. I went for the NX300h Luxury but added the panoramic roof, sat nav and convenience pack. The combination of panoramic roof and ivory interior makes the car feel so light and almost space age!

  10. Well after a lot of emailing to a Lexus dealer I have put down a deposit (subject to viewing) on a 2011 SE-L in Ultra Blue with black leather. They made me a video and sent lots of photos. I think I've got a good deal and will be making the 2.5 hour trip to Stoke on Thursday. I'll be checking it over thoroughly and test driving it before coming home. I'm looking forward to it :)

  12. Funny I made the same move! Yup it isn't cheap. Costs are published on the Lexus website: http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-maintenance/#ServicingYourLexus Don't be rushed. There are loads about if you are looking 2nd hand and even new there are always deals the be had. Interesting you didn't like the Advance trim. I actually prefer it over the others as it has all the main toys without leather, which I'm not a fan of.

  14. Here's a new project I've recently started. As some of you may know, back in Summer 2013 I did a complete wrap project on my IS250. This included upgrading to 2012 facelifted F-Sport bumper, LED headlights, and LED side mirror turn signals. Here is a link to that project: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/83871-project-car-wrap-2012-f-sport-bumper-led-headlamps-and-turn-signal-mirrors/ I recently parked my car in a car park only to come back and find someone had hit the front corner of the bumper. Damage was only to the bumper corner and the headlight washer jet. The wrap survived it quite well but unfortunately the bumper had cracked in a few spots so it tore through the wrap. I've repaired the headlight washer jet and was considering just repairing and re-wrapping the bumper to keep costs down. But then I shopped around and realised that I could do this mod for under £500 and I could sell off most of the parts from the other bumper (FSport spoilers, grilles, emblems, fog lamps etc.) and recover a fair amount of money towards this project. So hence, couldn't resist this project. The plan is to convert a 2014/15 3rd Generation IS F-Sport bumper to fit my 2nd Generation IS 250. The 3rd Gen IS has two different bumper variants, the F-Sport and regular. I was after the F-Sport because of the grille and the air scoops on the front bumper. I've got all the parts minus the rubber weather strip that sits between the bonnet and the grille. I've been quoted £35 for this. So far my spend has been just over £400. Once i get the weather strip, the build cost should be around the £450 mark. Usually I post all the photos once a project is complete, but for this project i'll update the thread with progress when available. Stay tuned for updates. :) and below are pics and details of progress so far. The new bumper has the rear mounted flush type parking sensors. I like the style of these parking sensors compared to the ones I currently have. So I decided to test a theory with a spare sensor that I have. I cut-out the outer section to see if it fits into the PDC hole and if it still works. It works and fits perfectly. Below is a pic of the modified spare sensor. For the final install, I wont be using this stone chipped sensor, I'll use the actual ones from my car. Below, I built a custom mount for the PDC sensor using existing parts. And here is a pic of the sensor sitting perfectly in the hole (I'm looking for a white gasket to fit around it to seal it nicely too) Here's the bumper to be converted: Here's the new grille Bumper bonded and stapled Test fitting the complete grille: Test fitting on the car: Headlight washer jet installed, and custom parking sensor mount: That's all for now, stay tuned for updates :) ** UPDATE - Completed Photos ***
