  1. You do know people smuggling is a serious offence

  2. Only had a chance to take a few pics, started peeing with rain after the third one. More soon. The observant among you will notice the change of number plates. I'm afraid the number appealed to my somewhat strange sense of humour (I'm an Aquarian you know),thought it was fitting for the car,so I bought it.

  3. If you put the item number in the ebay search box 122045615711 it still comes up and is still live. MOT history shows that over 10 years its done barely 800 miles.so its sat around alot. One year it did 1 mile. Year 2011 2012 7th/8th August it passed the MOT twice in one day, MOT1 mileage 58,980. 2nd MOT mileage 31565 just one mile further on from the year before. I am beginning to get that farmyard smell. I have a feeling that this has been on before and when I asked about the MOT mileage it disappeared. Anyone going for it be very careful. Mike. They also have a Merc on Ebay with an MOT history mileage starts at 108,205 Feb 2007 then in June 2007 the mileage is 80,099 Ebay ID# 122045586927.

  4. That'll be the first thing to be done to mine when it arrives in September. I feel naked driving a car without the ugly kid glass

  5. Hi Stuart and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over. We always like to see pictures of members cars so don't be shy. We recommend you spend a couple of mins looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/terms-conditions/ Regards Mike

  6. Brian - thanks and glad to hear it. Given my LS is 78k in that's low wear in Lexus dog years I'm go to change the diff oil and 2ltrs of the gearbox oil by draining the sump pan. The oil is 16 years old and that's no good for frying chips...

  7. Seller has now refunded me. That's handy.

  8. Simon, the oil itself (new or old), is smelly stuff. Not sure what's in it but it's formulated to withstand extreme pressures. I believe the correct grade is GL5, using any good brand. There is a tutorial for this job somewhere. My car is still running fine since doing the Diff oil change.

  9. I bought mine a couple of months ago from these and all is OK. PayPal pretty good at getting back monies, you just have to wait to let them investigate which takes time after which you will get your monies back. Mike.

  11. Complete mirrors often come up on ebay, that's how I fixed mine, which came with a stick on repair glass when I bought it. Easy job to just remove the glass.

  12. Looks good. As far as mirrors go the price of genuine parts will make your eyes water. One of mine was too dark so rather than paying the £200 Lexus wanted in bought a replacement shelf adhesive one online. It doesn't dim but the heat still gets through and only £8

  13. Think I got mine from a firm called SGS?, cheaper than ebay, and quick delivery. There is a thread on here somewhere, that's been dug up and revived a few times, I'll see if I can find it, but may not happen, as I'm on a caravan club internet connection (barely!!). EDIT:- Found another thread about them, here's the link. http://www.cargasstruts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=1571

  17. ... that bottom front bumper piece, I finally removed mine after some years of it getting worse from those extra high kerbs etc. .............. I read on here ages ago that a replacement was £70+ and decided not to bother. It looks much better, clean and tidy with it " gone ". Malc

  21. Warranties are designed primarily to make a profit for those who offer them. These are very reliable cars, you don't need a warranty. And even if something big does break, you can fix it with the money you didn't spend on a warranty.

  22. In that case I might try another dealer. Or ask them again.
