  1. Assuming they will put another 25 litres of fuel (I know... unlikely) and do wash and vac again I can go for recalls every month.

  2. Mark, There were several silver variations for that series 2 1997 model. The colour code is universal and when identified as a match is easy to order. There are paint companies who can identify the colour from a chip of the paint. Ask your seller to get a chip of paint off the door inside the rubber seal where the sealant as been applied between panel joints and send that off to a paint company that can identify it. Use the subject of an order for scratch touch up, then you have a touch up paint for the car.

  3. Hi , The colour code is stamped on the small plate next to the RH front strut mounting under the bonnet. Bottom line, 1st 3 digits, mine is 1CO., but mines a 2000 model. Hope this helps. Les.

  4. Looked spotless, exterior and interior. I could only find two scratches on the car one of which was deep but only about an inch in length on the door panel at the bottom. Interior could not find any flaws, leather did not look worn at all in fact - it looks better for a car of 100K mileage.. Only fault was that it was an SE L without the sun roof :( Went for a test drive, seemed okay. It pulled well but not very fast in my opinion. The car pulled to the left slightly which he said will be sorted (wheel alignment done). Was also very clear that all advisories get fixed if not already addressed by the mechanic. I'll also be taking a mechanic with me on collection day prior to making the rest of the payment in addition to the Lexus dealership for the fuel sensor and airbag recalls straight after. Hopefully everything gets sorted fast and nothing else crops up! Planning to pick up sometime in July!

  6. There's no difference in terms of abrasiveness. The soft, medium and regular grades refer to the hardness of the bar. Soft is too sticky whilst regular needs heating up. Medium works well 90% of the time. Once every year should be ok really

  8. Just remember the CT is built for comfort and economy..it isn't a sports car....F Sport is just a badge it means nothing....it still amazes me why Lexus/Toyota want to put 17" wheels fitted with tyres with a speed rating of 168+ mph on a car that is only capable of 112 mph...I removed the 17" wheels/tyres off my T-Spirit and fitted a set of new 15" alloy wheels with continental 195/65/15 tyres purely for ride quality....I would much prefer 16" wheels/tyres on the CT...Each to their own of course but if you wanted a sports car/hot hatch you coulda picked up a nice 350/370z for around the same money. And also remember if you DO change the wheels/tyres...the CT F Sport is probably equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system,..so unless you wanted a light flashing inside you would have to fit the proper valves with sensors too.... ...Enjoy the motor anyway.. whatever you decide

  11. Mini 0801 cameras and their later models are made by various Chinese factories, The current model is the larger 0806 which is slightly larger than its predecessors and has far more ventilation holes in its case. That's because the earlier models used to overheat. The quality is variable. It apparently depends on which Chinese factory actually made the model you have bought - but if you get a good one it does work., the picture quality is good and the big bonus with the Mini range is that the cameras are so small you can hide them entirely behind the rear view mirror. The Mini cameras all slide into a stick-on windscreen mount which contains the GPS. Four Gold plated pins on the camera's mounting lug take power from four pins in the GPS mount. They need to make a good contact to ensure you get GPS readings on your camera. You can by-pass the GPS mount and connect the camera direct to the power supply - but bear in mind that the 0806 camera has the new micro USB socket and requires the smaller, thinner micro usb connector NOT the mini USB connector. (You can buy an adapter if you are stuck). If you connect to your camera - or your GPS camera mount - to the Lexus cigarette lighter socket you should be fine - but don't be tempted to try to wire the camera with a hardwire kit to the sunroof power in the headlining . This is because - even though your hardwire kit will come with a converter which brings the 12v current down to 5 volts (which is what the camera needs) - the voltage is NOT stable. If you put a meter on it you will see the current fluctuates widely from as low as 1.5 volts to 9 volts . THIS WILL BLOW YOUR CAMERA. Your camera needs a stable and rock steady 5 volts - so always take your power from the ciagrette lighter or from the auxiliary power outlet at the base of the centre console via the cigarette lighter plug which arrived with your camera . That will take the 12v current down to a clean and steady 5 volts. Most makes of dashcam are intolerant of incorrect voltage so it's absolutely essential you check and double check the voltage they are going to receive is correct BEFORE you connect them up.You will need a USB voltage meter with mini and micro inputs to check this voltage - you can't do it with a conventional tester with probes.
