  1. Personally I wouldnt touch that ls400, I dont like the colour but most importantly no matter what Baz says I dont think its had a 2nd cambelt changed and hes asking too much for it and also the car looks very familier. I think lexuschap sold it to him, and also I dont understand why he keeps selling the car if he likes it so much. He even said in his last ad that he doesnt want an ls430 because of all the problems it has and yet he put a deposit down on a white ls430 only for the owner to change his mind and not sell it to him.

  2. The noise is not definitive and the process of illimination will be helpful ,to illiminate the ancillaries ie alternator a/c compressor power steering pump ,pulley tensioners and fan. Remove the serpentine belt and run the engine for a short time. if the noise is still there it is the engine and will require attention from trained techies. If the noise is not there it is one of the foregoing ancillaries .The water pump is driven by the cambelt and that requires a lot of work to remove.

  4. Cheers. I'm hoping the mods I have done compliment the car not terry and make it something is not or take away from it being a Lexus. Hmmmmm after the boot lid...... I'm not 100% sure probably sleep a few extra hours to get over it, but no in seriousness it's a difficult next move don't want to fall into the trap of doing more and more and ruining the car. Only mod I think is still subtle and will compliment the car is a matt black front splitter and skirts. I will attach a picture of what I mean when I'm back on my laptop. I think it will work well but the company in the US who supply them is out of stock unroll the end of June anyway. After that I think anything else on the exterior would be too much. I do like some of the newer shape for sport conversions when done right. But not sure they flow with the lines on the 2is as well as my current bumper

  5. Very well done, looks good I like your style, and that is going to be a fine looking car when the spoiler is done. Any ideas on what you are going to do after the boot lid?

  6. Looking good :) I am so jealous that you have the time, energy, cash and (most important) the skills to carry this off. Thanks for sharing this with everyone.

  7. You don't need to own a Lexus to be a member on the LOC, a healthy interest is fine. Fell free to pop in anytime, I've seen this many times and once again I feel you will be yearning another Lexus sooner than you think. Taken from a well known lager, "If only Lexus made motorhomes"

  10. I checked the MOT histories on quite a few RX300s when I was looking for one and advisories on pitted / corroded discs came up fairly regularly. I don't recall seeing 'general corrosion' mentioned so I suspect you dodged a bullet on that one! Perhaps it was a seaside car or spent much of its life parked on grass rather than a paved drive or road? It's so useful being able to access MOT histories on cars, I remember seeing something about 'sharp edges on bodywork from accident damage' so I didn't take that one any further. Oil leak advisories were another red flag for me as I know they can be expensive to put right. Best of luck with the search fella!

  11. Hi Dave, I used Carlack 68 and Collinite. Purchased from www.cleanyoucar.co.uk Both items were part of detailing kit for £34.95 , only used a small amount of both so should last me a good few years.

  12. "If you want a closer look at them and how they are wired, just give me a knock if the car is outside" Now that's what I call a really helpful neighbour. Good on you Colin. I've got front and rear Panorama X2's fitted in my IS. Wouldn't be without 'em now!
