  1. By updated do you mean new map data? You can purchase new maps from Lexus but it is expensive. http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu

  2. how bad is the service history? The engines are quite reliable, especially a 2009 one. Worth noting if there is any knocking/rattling on startup which could indicate a problem with the timing chain and sprockets.

  3. I reckon Steve is correct, certainly looks like an oil sump plug access panel from the undershield.

  7. I had mine for around 5 years and it had 110,000 miles on the clock when I sold it. No issues other than the 12v battery was getting a bit weak so I swapped it out in the last year, re-lubed the brake sliding pins a couple of times, replaced the rear brake discs due to corrosion, a set of brake pads all around, and had to re-glue the seal on the rear of the rear light clusters as I started to get water entering the boot on one side. Other than that just routine services and the inverter recall.

  8. Is there a part number stamped on it? It may be to access the oil filter during a service.

  9. Blank USB. Unzip download - copy the files HASHLIST.DAT and LOADING.KWI to USB (don't create any folders - USB should only have these two files on) Enter service mode (hold Menu and switch lights on/off 3 times) Select Service Information Select Program Update Insert USB and the OK button should light up. Please be careful in the service mode - don't play around with things unless you are sure with what they do

  10. here is a link for carista http://www.caristaapp.com/ it will give you an insight into what it can do and how to use the app one great feature of the app is that the adapter is so small you can carry it with you anywhere and it will work on all obd2 compliant cars (on board diagnostics version 2) so it isn't a lexus only tool.
