  1. Battery that was a Lexus fitted battery 6 years ago showed signs during this last winter of not being able to hold a charge so thought having had all the other stuff fitted to her a new battery was on the cards as well. Took her to Lexus Reading who quoted £125 fitted with a full valet and as much tea/coffee as you wanted so I said yes please and thank you. Great job done, well pleased. Mike.

  2. What I find quite amusing is that non Lexus LS owners think we live in a dream world - we do! It is wonderful! Again my only worry is how long it will last!

  4. I wish I was an expert! As far as I'm aware the hoses aren't shaped, in fact the one on the left as you look down is only short and almost straight. The other one has a gentle "S" bend but I doubt very much that it was shaped. The original top and bottom hoses seemed fine, no signs of cracking etc. I didn't think about the thermostat as they are pretty reliable, also it's an easy hose to remove should the need arise at a later date. The main thing is to fit everything to the new radiator before it goes back, unless the job is done with the bottom under tray ( I've forgotten the correct name for it) removed, in which case everything can be connected afterwards. Obviously if it is removed it makes it easy to catch any escaping TF but the amount lost really is very small, probably an egg cup full. Another small amount will be lost when the rad is removed but that can be plugged up first. The hose I bought for the ATF pipes is fuel hose that says on it "suitable for unleaded fuel" I'm told this will be fine for ATF.

  5. Well, my car is also windsor blue according to the stamped handbook. It certainly isn't black. I had the front and back bumpers, bonnet and both front wings painted, with a full mop, polish and other stone chips touched in for 700.00, very happy with the job they've done.

  7. Blank USB. Unzip download - copy the files HASHLIST.DAT and LOADING.KWI to USB (don't create any folders - USB should only have these two files on) Enter service mode (hold Menu and switch lights on/off 3 times) Select Service Information Select Program Update Insert USB and the OK button should light up. Please be careful in the service mode - don't play around with things unless you are sure with what they do

  8. I did it myself but it isn't available on the portal. You need to get the files from https://www.lexus-tech.eu Do a search for ECU Software updates (even though this isn't for the ECU) and enter your VIN number. It will ask for the technical services bulletin number which is BE-0081L-1113

  9. I don't have the model with the screen, but I have a DAB button also and mine doesn't do anything. Mines an SE L and the salesman said it didn't have the function even though the button was there. Would be interested to know the cost of adding it myself. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

  10. The new ones may go round bends like a F1 car, but I still prefer the smoothness and quiet comfortable ride of my 2000 LS. Now, where did I leave my slippers.....

  11. Just started cleaning up the two rims that came off the car when I popped the refurbs on last week. These are some of the worst wheels I've seen. The one with big patches of paint missing was my spare that looks as if it had been refurbed before but really suffered from being strapped under the car and forgotten about! After first light clean with wire brush, and Brillo pad: And the fun starts all again!
