  1. Slight corrosion to brake pipes (front to rear) that will need attention within the next few months. But another MOT pass - that's six in a row. 'Drives beautiful', said my mechanic when he brought the car back afterwards. 'Unlike the new ones - they're rock hard.'

  2. The new ones may go round bends like a F1 car, but I still prefer the smoothness and quiet comfortable ride of my 2000 LS. Now, where did I leave my slippers.....

  3. The dash piece turned up today and they look amazing, over the moon with them. These are not great pictures as I have had very little time to fit them and the car is a right mess, but should give you an idea. Really happy with the finish. The logos look superb and the match to the genuine F-Sport gear knob is superb so all in all a great job. Looks so much better than the strange metallic blue that Lexus originally used on the car, no idea why as the blue didn't match with anywhere else on the car. Feels much sportier inside not, much less "Grandad"

  4. Hi Kevin, I also have a 400h, I have mine serviced at Lexus Stoke, on the first service they initially refused to give a discount, however they relented and gave 15% Subsequent servicing I remind them of the discount before they do any work, show the card. If they refuse a discount go elsewhere, check out the Lexus owners club website, some dealers give as much as 20%!. Card is good at Halfords 15%. hope you enjoy your 400h. Archie

  5. Thanks. Yes its a 2005, goes in for a recall job on the 6th of june. People were telling me to refurb the wheels black, but i think black on black looks tatty, so I went with gloss grey.

  7. I use a Halfords Digital Tyre Pressure/Tread Guage. It was only £9.99 but it does a grand job. The feedback is very good, 5 star I think and it does what it says. Hope the link works. http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/garage-equipment/breakdown-essentials/halfords-digital-tyre-pressure-tread-gauge?cm_mmc=Google+PLA-_-Garage+Equipment-_-Breakdown+Essentials-_-239116&_$ja=tsid:60494%7Ccgn:GoogleShopping%7Ckw:239116&istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istItemId=xxlpwlta&istBid=tztx&_$ja=tsid:35522|cid:344535484|agid:25437357364|tid:pla-221245669924|crid:89797547524|nw:g|rnd:14406187750865513396|dvc:c|adp:1o7&gclid=CNi1ncHY1swCFTAz0wodxyUNjw

  8. Hi It took me about 3hrs, because its black thr dirt and small marks show up but the maguires ultimate compound seems to have taken care of most of the marks and got rid of swirl marks, I didnt do the bonnet as I was totally knackard, but the bonnet is brand new throught lexus warranty and only 2 weeks old. Oops and sorry due to couple of the pictures being the wrong way around, but if you click on the pictures, they turn the right way round and you can zoom in.

  9. Lol, when I gave my daughters boyfriend a lift in my IS250 - he said 'it's a nice Dad car' so I know what you mean but your motor is something special now :)

  10. The condenser thing fools almost everyone! It's true that a full main dealer history is preferred but none of my three previous ones had it and they were OK. Although saying that, my current one has full main dealer history and it is noticeable I think, it just feels and looks well maintained. Just to reiterate, replacing the radiator is easy and certainly nothing really challenging. The hardest part as I said is removing the hoses from the metal transmission pipes, but if you're replacing them you just cut them and then they're easy to deal with when the rad is out.

  11. Looks awesome! The best thing about it is that it looks like it came from the factory. Whats next then? The dashboard piece around the nav screen? :P I wonder if the black IS-F one would fit.......

  12. That's good - I took mine to the extreme a while ago just to see what was "available" from the tank - only done it this one time and wouldn't do it again. This was motorway driving and a small A road percentage - if I can remember right the indicator needle was still above the minimum so possibility for a bit more out of it but that would be on fumes !!. This was on Shell V power

  13. The photos you've posted are actually your ac condenser, the radiator sits behind it. To answer some questions, I used 10mm fuel hose which I'm told is fine, but I was told not to use water hose of any kind. It's easily obtained from a decent parts outfit. The radiator is a Koyo, they claim it's as good, if not better than the original quality (but then they would) I used red coolant, £25 from Toyota for 5 litres, ready to use (pre mixed) and I did ask when I was there just to make absolutely sure. They said they only sell concentrate in 25 litres drums and the one I bought goes straight in as it is. I used about 4.5 litres. The foam that sits between the condenser and the radiator always disintegrates so I just discarded it. If you're not happy with using a radiator that needs a slight modification or atf hoses that are slightly stiffer than the originals, best to go to a main dealer. As I said, I did the same to my last one, using the same parts, did various journeys through stop start London traffic and all was fine. One other bit of info, I phoned Lexus Guildford where my car has been serviced for the past eleven years, I spoke to a very helpful technician regarding coolant colour. He said Lexus use red coolant for cars up to 2007 after that its pink.

  15. You may find you are overwhelmed with attractive properties in the greater Bergerac area. Choosing might be the hardest part. Lovely lush countryside and very warm in mid summer but nothing that a cold beer can't fix. We are also tempted!

  16. I saw a lovely 2010 FSPORT, also I am considering a Honda Legend - 2009 ish. Attitude of Merc Owners was staggering. The car had a multitude of faults. Japanese car for me next please.

  17. Everything is available to the general public if you know where to look. Buy some FK1000P off ebay or some Soft99 Fusso. Can't go wrong and lasts 6 month easy
