  1. If I wanted to attract that much attention, I think I would rather pay Angelina Jolie a few quid to stand naked out of the sun roof of my 400, sure more fun than driving that purple road shovel.

  2. Thanks all for the heads up re the headlight restoration - the Autoglym kit did the job - had the car back in the MOT station tonight and the lights passed the test. Saved a lot of hassle and money - car booked in for rest of the remedial work so hopefully all will be sorted soon.

  3. You CAN mix both. The Pink is Toyota long-life coolant already mixed 50/50. Adding Red (which is not long-life but is concentrated and should be diluted), shortens the life of the Pink but will in no way gum up your cooling system or harm it. You can safely use both if you have to. Don't ever use Bluecol or similar though.

  4. Hi For 1 he should have used the pink coolant as that is what should have been in the ls430 to start with. I was told by Lexus main dealer that all their lexus vehicles manufacturered after 2000 use pink coolant, but I'm not sure if this will make any difference, and did your mechanic use Toyota coolant? If not, I'd take it back, get it drained and use Toyota coolant as I've read somewhere using any other brand coolant can cause damage to the vehicle.

  5. They're exactly the symptoms that I had originally, losing power, blower on etc. Sounds to me like you had an overheat on the battery. I would try a simple reset first as this may clear it (i.e. try to clear the alarms using a OBDII code reader - available for about €30 on ebay), other than that, it sounds like it's strip down time again my friend. If nothing shows upon the strip down you could be looking at a problem with the HV converter (that's the part where the air duct enters the the silver box unit suspended below the HV battery). Hope this helps.

  6. No idea but its a common issue on the RX. The fix is to take it apart and pad everywhere inside, especially where there is metal on metal

  7. Mine was at 62,000 km converted to 38,000 on purchase, 10 years later is now around 85,000 miles. Only clocking up around 2000 miles a year now.

  8. LS430 for me. We all know how reliable the LS400 is, but I actually think the two are worlds apart. As I've said before, they're both great cars, so it's all down to personal choice, but you need to try both before making that choice, and not just going by what others say.

  10. That Cortina was my dream car in 1974! Never did own another Ford after my MkII Cortina. How we have all matured!

  11. Well have just Spoken to Ray at UKTechnics and they still haven't managed to get round to her. I am not surprised as when I first contacted them he did say they were booking 3 to 4 weeks in advance. Will keep you informed of any developments. Mike. I want my Lexus back!

  12. for me 430 any day! initially when i bought it it took me a while to adjust from the 400 - the 430 is marginally noisier in terms of cabin noise and not as smooth however the extra easily compensate for that - if i had enough disposable income i would have an immaculate example of each mark ! p.s in over 3 years of ownership i have only had a parking sensor go, door speakers blown - cost £12 to repair and amplifier packed up costing £300 to repair

  13. See how it compares once you get your one back. As you say it doesn't really make sense other than the Premier suspension and wheel combination don't suit UK roads. Worth double checking that no transit blocks have been left in the suspension If you still feel your vehicle isn't as refined at the F Sport then I'd be asking to test another Premier to make sure there isn't just an issue with your vehicle.
