  1. Found a great one this morning. Before starting up the car press: volume up x2, track down x2 then long press volume down while starting on. Youll now be at a secret menu that gives you access to a setting where you can turn off the requirement to be stopped to play a DVD :)

  3. My LS400 Year 2000 flew through the MOT for the 2nd year in my ownership: no advisories. My trusty mechanic from ATS in Reading does my cars and has done for years. No favours though as my wife's Jag failed last year with a front drop link and that's an indy bill just shy of £300. All good this year for the fleet. If I was cashed up I'd attend to the wheels and knocks and bumps. What a great car.

  4. Red is still easily obtained at Toyota dealers at £25 for 5 litres, all I was saying is that's what originally was used in the LS so that's what I'd be using still, in fact when I replace my rad in the next few weeks I'll be draining the system and refilling with red straight from the container as it states "pre mixed" that way I've kept things as they were designed to be...hopefully.

  5. Thanks for getting back to us, every bit of infomation is useful. What may have happened was the battery was disconnected for some reason during the service and this would cause the ECU to reset to default condition, it has now relearn the correct parameters. Correct hot idle is 650 RPM +\- 50.

  7. A word of advice John, I'm sure that most will agree - use the Air con regularly unless you want it to pack up. A very costly repair should it do so. Also a tip, always use the handbrake when parked up, even at home - although, that might not apply if you are leaving the Car for a long period of time, unused. Don't want to find it won't release in the Garage

  8. No point in sharing - there's no such thing as a printed manual these days - all car manufacturers use computer based manuals. You can buy one (downloadable) on eBay fairly cheaply. There's one for £4.99 just now.

  9. Thank goodness for online MOT history checks. Do sellers like this think all buyers are stupid?

  11. Always good news a straight pass with no advisories, mine has failed twice in 10 years, once on lower balljoints and last time on corroded rear brake pipes but never had any advisories, can't grumble for a 22 year old car, most at that age have been crushed by now. A couple more years and it may hit the 100,000 mile mark.
