  1. You are obviously not au fait with all of the cars technical abilities, you can press the snow button as often as you like but it won't snow, the car is clever enough to know that you aint got winter tyres fitted and so therefore won't put your safety at risk!!!

  2. You do know that there is a heater in the IS & CT ? Yes but I think my Climate Control is playing up. I keep pressing the snow button but it never starts to snow.

  3. its comparing apples with pears isn it? i do have thesame feeling that electric propulsion is the way forward. i recently was in a taxi a merc s-class with 6 cyl diesel engine and for the first time i felt that car was really old school and maybe even somewhat irrelevant. back to topic. the RX is nor an electric car and will compete with the volvo xc90, bmw x5 and so on. the tesla is a 100% electric car and at the moment is king in its own empire. all major brands are working on 100% electric cars including porsche so more choice within 12 to 18 months. thr RX is one of the best selling SUVś and the new one will continue that for sure. The Tesla is really only a best seller in markets where there are tax breaks for electric cars like in Norway ( best selling car some months last year!!!), Holland ( tesla taxis at schiphol airport). and even then it are companycars and not privately owned machines. Please dont romanticize the Tesla dream as there are quite some issues with batteries and cars breaking down. all under full warranty but nevertheless. i personally would never buy one myself but as companycar ok. apparently Lexus is also not going for a plug in version as they dont see the advantage ( but prius has?). when fuel prices will eventually go up again the electric market will be more interesting again for customers. I am sympathetic towards electric cars but feel they need more time and a breakthrough in batterytechnologie creating a bigger range. the competition for the RX is others large SUVś and i feel the new Volvo is the biggest one. The fact that you prefer electric cars does not change anything to that.

  4. It's hard to estimate how good a used car will be from an advert. I had a similar experience when I was looking out for a descent LS400. I once went to view an "immaculate" example only to come away very disappointed. You can't always trust what you read. Unfortunately, human nature being what it is, not everyone is up front when it comes to describing their cars.

  8. I also found lexus reading pricey when I enquired about a 100k service, cam belt, water pump and mot recently My usual local independent did all the work for £850. Was very pleased compared to dealership quote Incidentally it was her 10yr mot and sailed through again without an advisory

  9. Hi. I think all things are covered petty much in the forum already. I have RX400h SE-L. 86000 miles.. Batteries are perfect and car has no rattles or issues whatsoever. So, if you had a good one that has been looked after you will be fine. Good luck. Let us know how you get on. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

  11. I really should read the manual! Had the car since 1st July last year and only just discovered the parking change holder - it had 5 £1 coins in it from the previous owner! Result!

  13. Hi Chaps, Not trying to tread on any toes, but I have my OEM tips in the garage if needed as well. Kept them after my H&S exhaust was installed. One side was repaired after I noticed one tip was loose when I was polishing them. Other one is untouched I think. Highly recommend getting some extra spot welds done before you install them. Otherwise you could be going through a few of them! Pretty sure mine was loosened by the previous lady owner reversing them into things on a frequent basis! Anyway, just thought I'd mention it as another option. PM me if needed. Cheers. Peter

  14. Forgive a bit of a self-indulgent post, Lexus friends. But... This evening, I managed to get out of work just after five and it was still light and the sky clear. So, sunroof open, beanie on, temperature to 26°C and fans to auto! My normal 40 minute commute turned into a meandering nearly two-hour trip home, some A-road blasts, some lazing through villages. Great to hear the Blackbirds and the Robins in the trees, and the sweet sound of the 2JZ-GE through the railway bridges. By the time I got home, my shoes must have been hot enough to melt the glue, but it felt brilliant. Quite an unexpected pleasure on what had been just another working Wednesday; certainly more than my morning commute in unrelenting darkness! Faith restored in my old Lexus after a big bill for new front calipers, carriers and disc skimming. I've been pondering something newer after that hurt, but really, what is worth me financing £200 to £300 per month? It would need to be quite some car. Have any others here had a similar revelation?
