  2. Symptoms - TRC warning light flashing with ABS light constantly on. Loss of ABS and Traction Control. All other system operating. No recent work or non genuine parts on vehicle. In original trim with less than 80k , 2003 SE Model. Well serviced and looked after. Diagnosis - Confirmed ABS loss and TRC. Systems have shut down. - Checked all fuses. All good. -Put vehicle on ramps. Visual check no obvious damage. -Accessed OBD manually using workshop manual instructions. Abs light flashed 41 then 46 repeatedly. TRC flashed code 43. ABS Code 1241 = LOW BATTERY POSITIVE VOLTAGE OR ABNORMALLY HIGH BATTERY POSITIVE. Code 1246 = Master Cylinder Pressure Sensor Malfunction TRC Code 1243 = Malfunction in ABS control system -Cleared codes and disconnected battery. On ignition warning lights apppeared. Fault therefore must be detected at check and not a rolling fault. -Mulled it over for the day and read some of the manual. Unusual failure, seemed like the next step would be test the ABS control unit. -Went shopping (she made me) noticed for the umpteenth time people were trying to weld themselves to the back of the bumper and in the week or so the warning lights appeared a few horns I couldn't understand. Wonder if I have brake lights? -checked brake lights. Inoperative. -checked fuses, bulbs and any wiring, checked power to bulb - no power. Pondered. -check brake pedal switch - Inoperative!! Disconnected plug and bridged contacts. Brake lights on. Cycled ignition. Warning lights off. Without bridge warning lights on. -Took out switch, cleaned contacts and dried off some maintenance spray (potentially caused my own problem..dohh) Benched tested and working. Re installed in car allowing for 80k wear. - ABS and TRC functioning. Conclusion. If ABS and TRC only warning lights appear. Check brake light in operation and pedal switch is working. Have yet to road test ABS/TRC function. When it rains I will!

  3. Inspired by the Scottish scenery framing a shiny green car I decided to give mine the same treatment today. The very good East Europeans did the hand wash and I applied the Autoglym, an excellent product (unless you put the bottle down too hard like I did so it shoots out all over your face!) Obviously my backdrop is a little more uninspiring.

  4. Looking fineeeee! Hopefully you put something on top of the Autoglym SRP (I think thats the one you mean?!) or you're hard work will need to be repeated in a 3 weeks!

  5. Well ive had the 450 H 3 weeks now and i must say its running superb beyond my expectation I thought the CVT would not suit me but it most certainly does. It is smooth as silk( however my last gs300 was also smooth i might add) I dont charge about i just like to waft along and it does this in almost silence even with the engine running. I am getting 27 around town etc and on a long trip to hull i got 38 but i dont do starship mileage so its no problem i have stopped checking that now as it is of no concern to me. I contacted the last owner who was a very pleasant man A Company director he said and told me that the car has been faultless and as i had all the history only concern i had was on the last service said rear caliper was seized and as i saw no refrence to it being changed i asked him about it " Oh that yes i told them to change it but the mechanic freed it of with no charge"so all in all i think i have got a gem it is in lovely clean condition and not a mark on it and only done 44k Well pleased Thanks to all who said Get one, as i said i was worried about the CVT Robert

  6. Had this issue recently, quite an easy fix. it's to do with the rear fog switch. take the 2 light bulbs out inside the switch, press down on the 2 pins on the short side to release the body out of the case pop the top cover off the chip board You'll see a L shaped copper piece, this is the problem. you need to slide it back up into the case curve bit pointing into the spring bit, it'll fit exactly. Use some superglue to make sure it stays in place. Put everything back together. Save yourself $50 for a used switch or $120 for a new. Buy me a beer instead.

  7. could it be wheel balancing weights? - if they are stuck on the inside rim they start hitting the caliper outer edge

  8. Normally on these engines, you will find that its coming from the hydraulic lifters on a cold morning. The oil is alot thicker in the cold so takes slightly longer for the oil pressure to build up. I found that the noise was greater reduced by putting a quality filter on and also swapping to quality oil. (i started using castrol edge and the noise went) Dan

  9. I'm sure there's a priority motorway setting as well. Something worth remembering is that standard postcode is 7 digits so would be AB12 3CD. Therefore you would be able to put this in completely without using space. With 6 digit postcodes you have to put a space. So it'll go like this - AB1 SPACE 2CD. That wold explain why the 2 was greyed out if you didn't put a space in

  10. Funny you should post this - I've noticed in the past few days that mine is doing something similar. It still starts fine, but sounds a little bit different... doesn't last a second though. Maybe it's just the weather?
