  1. I did tow my caravan with the Prius but it was lacking power for 1 in 5 hills. on motorways it towed well at the legal limit "60 mph" returning an amazing 49 mpg. This with a 15 toot 1 ton van.

  2. Good to hear you got it sorted. I'm just down the A38 from you near Alfreton, I'll PM my contact details to you, think I have a toolkit torch somewhere in my collection of parts but no spare owner's books ( there are 2 in the set,one just for the Sat Nav)

  3. What he was banned for was not an issue, nor did I comment on the fact. The issue is that you are suggesting that all other members should not post links or comment on vehicles he has for sale. That to me is censorship at the extreme. Regarding other member who appear to be traders, I fail to see why it should of concern to "the moderators" whether they have gold membership or not. No one suggested that anyone was selling on Loc. Yes I do remember posting that comment when Chasdad was trying to sell the LS400 he had recently purchased. Which just about re-enforces my comment that some members get entertainment and some humour from discussions of this sort. I am totally indifferent to this guy in Dudley, but I am opposed to suggestions that we should refrain from commenting on his vehicles when we are allowed to comment on any other vehicle seen on Ebay, autotrader or the like. 6. Hi Steve. I'd noticed the lack of DRLs and blue wheel trim but the fact that it's a 10 plate is what was making me wonder. Good info regarding the updates, thanks. We do have dogs but have another car that we use for that. I've seen yours on here, it's a lovely car. The LSD is the key thing for me too. Hi Bluesman. I shall have a read of the rules, and thanks for the welcome! DRLs aren't particularly important to me, I'm just trying to pick up what might or might not indicate a facelift car, which I now have a better understanding of. Thanks everyone for the welcome and for help!

  7. Oh normski, you've revived a few great memories there! I was at Manorbier Camp (Artillery) and Penally Camp in 1958, firing anti aircraft guns at targets out over the sea. Tenby and Saundersfoot then became two of my favourite places to visit. I spent my honeymoon in Saundersfoot and so Pembrokeshire is an all time favourite of mine. i recall a super eatery called 'Bon Appetite' probably not there anymore! I visited Manorbier Camp a few years ago, just to jog the old memory modules!

  8. Had bad experience with red stuff pads, you need heat for effective braking. Yellowstuff was way better but I did get new discs whilst I was at it, this was on my fto. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  9. That is an insane amount of carbon build up, crazy. Out of interest, how many miles does your car have? And did you re use the gaskets? If mine ever gets fixed I will make it a priority to clean the manifold.

  10. I am just in the process of changing from a 1.5 Prius to the GS450H. The Prius is the most reliable, economical car I have ever had returning a genuine 58 mpg in the winter and rising to 67 mpg in the summer with £10 a year road tax.. The HV battery is still under guarantee and can remain so if serviced by Toyota or has a yearly health check till it is 11 years old irrespective of millage. My prime reason for the change is the requirement to tow a caravan. In a 123,000 miles of ownership the sum total of repairs was two rear shocks "under guarantee one was leaking both were changed" and a front NS wheel bearing at 96,000 miles. Services were carried out at the Toyota dealers and are set price at 10,000 mile intervals. The Gs will have a lot to live up to.

  11. I only got it yesterday so there are many others with more experience but i'm loving it so far. Its my fourth lexus and easily the best, incredible car with loads of power and really smooth. I lucked out and got one with the 2010 facelift so i can play music direct from my phone via USB or Bluetooth without faffing around fitting an adapter which is a nice bonus. Definitely drive both a 300 and a 450h, in general I found it easier to find a quality 300.

  12. Hi Frank and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over. We recommend you spend a couple of mins looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/terms-conditions/ Regards Mike
