  1. Alfred, as recommended on her earlier, a battery from your local Toyota dealership would be your best bet. A 'Varta E23' is the one that I have on my LS so this battery should fit your vehicle too. It's an exact fit with the terminals the correct way round (that's important). It's 70 Amps/hour, so has plenty of power and is much cheaper than a rip-off Halfords battery would be.

  4. Yes. Large (fits your wheel stud socket) recessed bolt head under circular cover within the tool tray below your rear cargo area floor. Anti-clockwise lowers the spare wheel to the ground. Clockwise raises the spare into its under body recess and then holds it in place. Hope that helps.

  7. Hi James, From what I've learned the IS250 is a very reliable car which can handle high millage. There is a very good post by the member ISnewbee who highlights potential issues. Typically I would say look out for; - Exhaust (very expensive to replace if you go through Lexus) - Brake Calipers - Oxygen Sensors - Electric motor in the Folding Mirrors - Water Pump - Electric motor on steering wheel (when you turn the ignition on the steering should move down) - Spark Plugs at 60k That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

  8. The 1st one is adequate the second one may throw the engine out of the car :) Either is fine just make sure it will fit in the battery compartment and the battery connection leads reach without straining, remember the earth terminal needs to face the passenger side on Lexus.

  11. I just love big Jap cars, Crowns, Laurels, Legends, 300C, LS, etc, etc, and have owned plenty of them since the late 70s. Not surprising I suppose, considering my dream car is a 59 Caddy. Sadly, few people in the UK have the same taste, and a lot of cars from Japan never make it over the water, so are rare indeed...........shame!
