  1. Hello and welcome to the LOC. I heard you can turn off the interior motion sensor with the remote keyfob, this is for situations like leaving a dog in the car for a short period so it doesn't trigger the alarm. Not sure on the proceedure but seem to remember pressing the lock button twice, if you have the owner's manual it should be detailed in there.

  3. Happy (and safe) Christmas to all. After paying for a cambelt and water pump change I'll be stuck at home eating beans on toast, but what price peace of mind? I keep wondering whether the car will still be running (and in my hands) when the next belt change is due - by that time it'll be 28 years old! Cheers.

  4. He can write what he likes on the invoice it doesn't make a jot of difference you are still covered by Consumer Rights Legislation. Yet another untrustworthy car dealer. Mike.

  6. Hi Well I have finally taken the plunge and traded the CT for an IS advance. So far very impressed with the ride and think the car looks stunning. Here are some photos in the handover room. Can't wait to get to know it over Christmas. Paul

  7. Hey hey hold your horses buddy!! The NX F sport is now available with ML since October!!! But yes, I'd say it's worth the extra £1k. It sounds great when you tune it right in the settings and you can literally hear the clari fi working. I had a back to back test and it is a good system

  8. Your car looks superb and Mesa Red really suits the IS300. Get a layer of wax on it and see how it sparkles in the sun. It is known as Red Crystal Shine in Japan. Ed :hohoho:

  9. You leave it far too long Malc. It must have been really high and unmanageable. I normally cut mine by Easter!! Regards John

  10. TBH - the standard radio in my SE sounds pretty good - ok it might not have the soundstage enhancement that you get with the ML but it does the job on most sources...

  11. Exhaust heat shields can come loose especially the ones over the rear boxes and around the Y pipe cat end.

  12. Hello Si and welcome to the LOC. Please feel free to list your problems with your IS, there's normally someone on here who will know the cause and the cure if it's not already been posted before. I'm a V8 man but nothing wrong with a straight 6.

  13. Hi Simon and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over. We recommend you spend a couple of mins looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/terms-conditions/ Have a happy Christmas and a very Happy Lexus New Year. Regards Mike.

  14. Welcome to the Mesa Red Club Paul. Enjoy your new car. The only thing I don't like about my car are the wheels, and the only thing I don't like about your car is the protector on the back. I think if I got me one of those it would have to be in black, sorry lol

  15. Congrats Paul, that looks like a great colour combo. Based on a few CT loaners over the years the IS is indeed a step up. Enjoy the new wheels! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  16. Just seen this. On 3rd December I received a letter from DVLA to inform me that the Direct Debit for my Tax had not been taken out and so, my car was not taxed. The Road Tax should have been taken out on 1st of October ! So I had been driving around for 2 months, blissfully unaware that my car was not taxed. The letter blamed the oversight on "a system failure" and advised me to tax my car ASAP which I did. They did at least apologise for the error, but , when I phoned the automated system to tax my car, I was warned that as I had let the tax run out, I might be liable for prosecution. What a cheek! I hadn't noticed that the Direct Debit had not been taken out, but it took DVLA 2 months to spot the error. I assume it hadn't flagged up on the system, otherwise I could have had Plod pulling me over. As the OP suggests, don't rely on DVLA getting it right all the time. Paul

  18. Ok, I see where you are coming from regarding the cat but does that mean you'd hollow it out if it were blocked for example? Touch wood I've only ever had to replace a cat once on my Toyotas, due to a rear end shunt that mangled the exhaust on my then 18 year old MR2 with 150k miles - they seem to be made from sturdy stuff, so a failure below 100k (in my experience) would be rare unless there are other issues... 19. 1 - as comments above, plus remember to press and hold the button for a second or two for the function to activate. 2 - it should soft open. When the pollen filter is replaced the soft close mechanism is sometimes disconnected - seems to be an oversight by the dealer. 4 - Yes the SE-L Premier should have ACC/PCS and Head up display. Those are the differences between the SE-L and Premier together with a standard fit sunroof. Are you sure you have a Premier and not just an SE-L?
