  1. Wife's IS300H is back from RRG bodyshop is Bolton and came on Tuesday. I've had a quick look today and bumper and fender have been changed and painted. I'll have a look in daylight buy WOW you could never tell it's had a bump! Very happy with the work (and im OCD). Perfect service from Lexus Bradford and RRG bodyshop too. Bump was on Saturday night, closed on Sunday so car photographed on Monday, approved by Wednesday, picked up following Tuesday by 2 guys in Lexus kit and dropped off the next Tuesday. No hassles whatsoever, definitely worth using RRG bodyshop if you do have a bump!

  2. You need a set of these which I made and have adapted them to suit my last 3 cars incl my LS460. I don't like scissor jacks so I carry a small mini trolley jack in it's own case should I need to swap a wheel. Steve

  3. Hi everybody. Had my is200 for about 6 months now but I've just joined the forum. Lots of parts ready to go on but just don't have the time. I'll be doing some write ups in the near future on everything as it gets done. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Jason

  4. If Allan is going down the route of using a wooden block, here is some info on approximate measurements and some pictures of the one I use. The block wood is 3 and five-eighths inches x 2 and three quarter inches. The cut out in the top section is about 1 inch deep and 1 inch wide. The cut out is not centrally placed - there is a longer section on the top on the right hand side (1 and three-eighths of an inch) and a shorter section on the top on the left hand side (three-quarters of an inch). The left hand side is also cut away at an angle at the end. The longer section goes behind the sill and the shorter section in front of it. The purpose of the cut away is to stop the edge of the wood from catching on the sill. Hope this helps. The photos are a bit on the large side but if you click on them they open up so that you can see the whole picture.

  5. I suppose the time it's been on the the market should ring alarm bells. The number plate is OK Mike as it's Northern Ireland. Which although my Irish wife would disagree with, it's part of the UK.

  7. Hi Guys yes Verbout is right, my round steel jacking plates were for my benefit mainly but it's true, the monkeys who call themselves technicians have previously damaged my Bentley Arnage and my Jaguar XK when they have mis aligned the two poster swing arms and hadn't located the lift's pads on the sill flanges thereby causing sill flange damage (bent) and damage to my plastic sill cover panels. I decided once and for all that when my car goes into the main dealer I was going to insist how and where to raise my car thus guaranteeing no more damage because they couldn't be bothered to raise the car correctly in the first place. Didn't have any issues with the Bentley dealer or the Jaguar dealer ever again. I do take my wheels off every week for cleaning and the speed of wheel removal is very quick because I'm not struggling to locate my trolley jack on the sill flanges. I spent half a day when I bought this LS460 repairing the sill flanges which were basically flattened by incompetent garage staff.

  8. Osram Night Breaker are good, used in my last car but it only lasted about 7 months before 1 side burnt out. The extra light is what causes a shorter lifespan. Keep the receipt as proof of purchase as you can call up osram and they will send you a free replacement within 12 months

  11. Hi and welcome, I had a similar problem on a 1998 mk4 Ls and after replacing all the obvious things like brake discs wheel bearings wheels balanced and renewing all suspension bits I still had the problem I even went to the extremes of buying new alloys and tyres but still had same problem ie shake on steering wheel and whole car (could feel it through the seats) also checked engine mounts but all was ok Finally found the problem and it was the centre bearing on the drive shaft was worn, Part price was around £175 job involves taking off exhaust then driveshafts to access the centre bearing, Hope this helps Ps when it first started it was barely noticeable but annoying and only really noticeable at 55mph and above....

  12. Little update, Fitted some new headlight bulbs as the old ones were literally like miniature candle lights, the lenses them selves are in shocking condition but when I fitted the new bulbs, there was a massive increase in light, they are smd 5 watt for the side lights and 55watts for dipped and fogs, my 65 watt mains haven't turned up yet. Also fitted a rubber splitter as i cant afford a proper one yet haha, the lumps up u can see in the pics are the penny washers I used, when I fit some smaller ones it will look alot better. Debadged the grill as well, want a more aggressive look. I also sorted my keys out finally :) two Aftermarket keys off amazon with boot release £6 delivered then £16 for both keys to be cut. I don't know what the next update will be but I really want to get the cd player working and lights looking like new.

  14. You are unlikely to need any new parts. The pedal should go down 7-9 clicks - that feels like quite a long way. If more, the parking brake needs adjusting. The adjusters are located behind holes in the drums (part of the discs) - as I recall, the nearside adjuster is at about 11 o'clock and the offside one at about 1 o'clock. They are toothed wheels aligned vertically and you turn them with a screwdriver. It can be tricky to work out what's going on when you're working 'blind' - it can be worthwhile to remove the drums/discs so that you can see exactly how they work and what you need to do. Obviously you have to do the actual adjustment with everything assembled, then you can't see what is going on! They need adjusting to just a shade backed off from rubbing. There is an adjuster on the cable, too, where it attaches to the pedal, but the main adjustment should be done at the wheels.

  15. I have just fitted the boot spoiler (looks great) and the lid now opens in a more damped way. The springs seem to be designed to allow for the extra weight. Ed
