  1. You need a set of these which I made and have adapted them to suit my last 3 cars incl my LS460. I don't like scissor jacks so I carry a small mini trolley jack in it's own case should I need to swap a wheel. Steve

  2. Three years ago when I realized the 22 year old Mark 1 I had owned for 16 years was passed its sell by date I had some serious thinking about the replacement ,the only thing I was sure of it was going to be a Lexus. I studied the members posts on all of the LS range and money being no object I was not limited in price. I did not take on board any of the professional pundits views dealership blurb or Jeremy the thug,I simply looked at my past experience with all my cars and the Mark1 and realized that after seven years of initial development and a further ten years of refinement there could only be one car the "Lexus LS400 Mark IV" There as never been another car ever made that as seventeen years of development in one guise so it as to be as near perfect as it can be.As someone as already said it is probably the best car ever built and ever likely to be.

  4. No green, 132k. My family is well spaced, round trips to see them are 400 miles min, up to 2,000 (france). With age and injuries I need a comfortable car. Since I brought it as a trade in it with new MOT it wasn't sorted, faults so far are wing mirrors fading and rear cup holder jammed. I think I can live with those until I sort them.

  5. i have now ordered and fitted the roof rails - easy job and it stopped the issue with leaking water into the car through screw holes so far so good. I have as well ordered an mini-VCI cheap as chips (i think £3.99 posted ) got it to work on windows 10 64bit and got all codes read firts picture shows the first scan and the second after clearing code I'm taking the car tomorrow fora short ride to see which codes will come back. so if there is anyone who knows how to deal with those codes i will appreciate any help :)

  6. Errr no it doesn't , BMW 320d does 0-60 in 7.7secs, the IS300h in 8.3 (0-62). Over half a second is a massive difference ask any drag racer. I think your definition of a sports or high performance car is a little bit different to others. There are plenty of sporty styled cars out there but in this day and age high performance would normally imply a sub 5second 0-60 time and single figure mpg when pressing on. The IS300 is a very good car but it will never fall into the sports or high performance category.

  7. Fair point regarding mileage - mine would be considered high by most people - it will be 3 years old in Feb and has 112K. I bought it from a dealer as a lexus approved vehicle, however, I see no limitations on mileage in the warranty other than exhaust, wipers and brakes. The only other limitation I see is that the history must be up to date and the warranty must be in force before the vehicle covers 140K. Think I'll give the warranty administrators a call and seek their feedback

  8. HiDs should last a long time, usually it is mileage/hours dependent. My mates BMW 7 Series was only 4 years old but had 250K on the clock with a lot of night work, the bulbs were going very "purple" which is a sign they are ageing badly and need changing, upgraded to the Philips Xtreme Vision type (50% brighter). Bi Xenons will cost no more to change the bulbs as they still only use one bulb, the "Bi" bit is because the same bulb is used for both dip and main, the difference is caused by a mechanical shutter obstructing part of the beam for dip use.

  9. "evidence of oil around the sump and that they thought it possibly had an oil leak" I would need a little more assurance from the garage before I let them start dismantling my car. Could quite easily be spilt oil as someone mention. Clean the area, drive the car, check again.

  10. I had valet key with my Mk2, but not with current Mk4, which is why I fixed the keys. My first attempt at fixing was cr*p, and lasted about 6 weeks, so my version 2 of fix was better thought out. I would say that if i charged myself say £15 per hour to fix, it would have been cheaper to go to Lexus and buy a key at their prices, but I love a challenge.
