  2. I'd say that headlights is not the IS's strong point. I've changed the bulbs to Philips VisionPlus and it got a lot better. I've also tried Philips X-tremeVision, but the life span was too short for my liking.

  3. Apologies for the clothes! Forgot to state the it's a 3.5 supercharged V6!! Basic and school boy error. It was all a bit rushed. Also. I am fitting some carpet to the rear to make less of an eye sore! Lol very pleased with it!!!! Drives incredibly well, sounds superb, the suspension is black magic and simply astonishing.

  4. If you at talking about the 400 that can be had for as low as 68k and gets to 60 in as good as 4 seconds flat and goes on to over 180mph if that matters to people! A 1 to 2 year old evora s sr (top spec of the older model) can be bad for 45k with as low as 5-10k on the clock and gets to 60 in 4.2 and goes on to 178 and had the exotic looks and rarity to boot. So when you look at it like that I think (because I like them) both evira options are more preferable than the Nissan. Especially the one I have bought.

  5. I have also just realised that the lights settings menu (under vehicle customization) does not correspond to the instructions on p636 of the manual relating to Automatic light control system, which actually refer to the time the headlights stay on. The settings I can adjust only go up to 30 seconds, whereas the manual says the headlights can go up to 90 seconds. Is this an error in the manual, or some software difference in UK or Europe? Or is it something to do with my car? Or am I being dim!?

  6. haven't had the privilege to drive any of them so cant really comment on 'real' life performance of both and without putting them side by side on a track one cant tell how better the Evora is to the Nizmo but basing on paper figures there is only 0.5 secs difference from 0-60 and Evora tops out an extra 15mph compared to the Nismo's 155mph. the Evora is almost twice the price of the Nismo but is it twice the car in terms of looks, appeal, performance and handling? thats debatable.. £40K will buy me a lot of 5 star holidays/shopping for a few years.. :)

  7. Id say my wife wins for getting lowest MPG - 23.5mpg here lmao, she's getting worse than me in my RX!

  8. Not sure how common it is, can only remember seeing one mention of the CEL-VSC lights in the last six months and think that was down to the fuel cap not being sufficiently tightened after a fill!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. i feel this shows just how good a 300h is as my grumble with the car is so small, i wish when you turned the ventillation fan off & back on again the fan speed would be at the previous setting rather than having to press the fan up button until the desired speed is set.

  11. If it's a Guernsey car, it's probably had a dozen or so sets of wing mirrors smashed off it in its life. ****, those roads are narrow. I believe you can take our extra mirror insurance on hire cars, it's such an issue!

  12. You should be able to configure what is displayed in order as you scroll down. If the car is stationary, go to the settings, then you can choose which of the various mpg, trip meter, energy meters you want to see.

  13. Hi Guys, I just bought my first Lexus, a GS 300. What a lovely car to drive. Even the wife loves it :) I was told remapping it will give better fuel economy, is this true? If so, where is the best place to have this done, I'm in the Winchester area. Here is some pics of my Gs 300.

  15. It's like the scroll bar on a computer screen, indicating there is more below the current info displayed on the screen. If you use the down arrow button on the dial on the right hand side of the steering wheel the screen will scroll down. The highlighted grey bit shows you are at the top of screen and this will move down as you press the down and then up arrow key. I hope that makes sense! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  16. All seats have weight sensors to detect occupant. System with will only deploy when it detects someone sitting on seat. With front passenger, the light is indicating it is inhibited as its not detecting occupant. If someone sits in it, the light will extinguish. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

  17. Yeah, that is the oem Lexus spoiler. Same as mine. what wheels are these? they are mk1 GS300 Sport wheels, refurbished in anthracite. The winter tyres are on refurbished silver sparkle colour.

  18. To answer a few questions,-- yes, the wheel was fairly easy to fit; but firstly I looked up numerous posts on the U.S forum (which included some photo's) -- by googling 'LS400 wood and half-leather steering wheel'. I also clicked on 'images' and magnified the pictures-- it helped. There's some handy 'how to' advice on there. The airbags from a Mk.4 DON'T fit on a Mk.3 wheel. The central frame of the mk3 wheel is a different shape and the horn/cruise connections are different. You would probably have to buy a complete mk4 wheel including the airbag in order to be sure of a working horn and cruise control. BUT, I'm pretty sure that you could just buy a wood/leather wheel from a scrapped 95-96 model and your existing mk3 airbag would fit. On-line breakers are definitely the best bet, there's not much on UK ebay. One tip I found on the forum was that when you have the old wheel removed, don't let the 'clock spring' underneath move out of position, otherwise you will have to reset it. The 19mm nut is torqued down to 35 Nm. You won't need a 'puller' either, just yank very hard and it will release from the splines, but remember to undo the white top connector first before you do that. Hope this helps a bit and good hunting.

  19. I bought a load of LEDs off eBay, there was an RX 300 listing with loads of bulbs to replace interior lights, side lights and reversing lights. They are OK but trigger the bulb out warning in the dash if used for tail lights. Made an amazing difference in the boot but I didn't like the harsh brighter light in the cabin, so put the original bulbs back in! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. It's where they are positioned. There's only two of them. They protect the corners OK but because of their position they miss objects directly ahead. The sensitivity seems fine.

  21. These are ones i bought http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501-W5W-led-extreme-power-1.5w-360-degree-white-blue-red-amber.html?bulb_search=car from this seller, you can get cheaper ones on Amazon etc but i wouldn't buy them. Make sure to order 2 as they are singles and go for white :D :winky:

  23. Now I know " how " to get at the coils I shall do the clean up recommended by fellow members before I spend £125 again !!! Thanks for posting the advice - it certainly helps and gives comfort when a problem occurs.

  24. Well, problem solved...rodents! Chewed through wiring. Still not a cheap fix once they'd taken the engine bay apart, but a lot cheaper than a new inverter which is what the diagnostics said was the problem.

  25. Search Ebay for "breaking Lexus RX"----you will find loads of adverts. Should be a lot cheaper than buying new.

  26. I have been using V-Power on all my cars for years so that has obviously already made the difference and bears out what I said about the improved MPG I achieved in just less than a week of using the new filter without really trying. My son-in-law has an air line which he used to blow out the detritus from the performance filter on my Alpina last year and the same on my Boxster two years before that and I similarly decided not to re-oil the filters like you - didn't seem to affect things in anyway, but it's only recommended every 50k miles according to K & N so perhaps that's why it didn't matter? Anyway with a quoted life of 1 million miles you'd have to own the same car for a very long time to get your full moneys worth :D

  27. Hello everyone I’m new here, first post. I have to confess I'm not actually a Lexus NX300h owner yet but took a test drive at the weekend and really loved it. Sluggish, poor ride, noisy CVT gearbox, over-priced posh RAV4 etc - I'd read all the "expert" reports on the car, watched all the videos out there too and very nearly didn't even bother considering it as a viable option for my next car – until I went for a test drive last weekend to make up my own mind and I’m so glad I did! Whether my expectation of the car had been reduced after reading so many mediocre reviews of the car I will never know, but I was initially very impressed even surprised with the vehicle. The general feeling was of a real quality interior with a surprising amount of space in the rear seat area and although the boot space was “not class leading” it was perfectly big enough for me and my needs. I loved the look of the car actually in the metal and really got on well with the driving - the seats were so comfortable and the cars performance and handling were fine as far I am concerned, not sluggish at all as some reports had said. I also noticed the attention the car caused on the road, just during my test drive there were a number of people looking at the car as I drove by. I’ve only seen two other NX's out and about so far so I know they are a rare sight at the moment. This is going to be a completely different experience to driving my BMW as they are such a common sight on our roads. I should explain I am looking at the NX primarily as an option to get my company car benefit-in-kind tax down compared to the BMW that I currently drive due to the low CO2 emissions of the Lexus. I'm going for another test drive this weekend and if I still feel the same afterwards I will "go for it" despite what most of the experts say! This will be my first ever Lexus.

  28. A lady walks into a Lexus dealership. She browses around, then spots the perfect car and walks over to inspect it. As she bends to feel the fine leather upholstery, a loud fart escapes her. Very embarrassed, she looks around nervously to see if anyone has noticed her little accident and hopes a sales person doesn't pop up right now. As she turns back, there standing next to her, is a salesman. "Good day, Madame. How may we help you today?" Very uncomfortably she asks, "Sir, what is the price of this lovely vehicle?" He answers, "Madame, if you farted just touching it, you are going to s**t yourself when you hear the price.",!!

  29. I've been looking at the Premier, as I like my toys and my current car has most of the options on the Lexus. I do like the look of the F-Sport better from the outside but I'm not a fan of the black interior or black head lining - I like the lighter leather/Interior (no kids now to mess it up!). I'm off tonight to a Manager Sales Event at a Lexus garage nearby where they are offering "Special" prices and they have a choice of 5 Premiers for me to choose from all arriving next month. Sonic White, Black, Blue, Sonic Titanium and a Red one actually in the showroom already all with Pan roof and ivory interiors.

  30. Hi Sparks, Nice to know you are happy with your new baby! I'm hoping to follow in your footsteps and make the move from a German make to my first Lexus this weekend.

  31. Welcome Lexus-Marque, hopefully soon a second welcome as an owner, pics will be required! You're not the first to be surprised at how different the car is compared to the so called experts opinions. Which one are you considering? The nav, and indeed the whole infotainment system can be fiddly with lots of menus and intuitive it certainly isn't. That said, once you've had a good old play with it you'll find it does everything it's supposed to do. The phone integration mentioned above does depend on what you have, eg an iPhone will show messages but you can't reply. It's the limitations set by the phone manufacturer rather than the car coming up short. You certainly won't see many around, and that goes for Lexus in general. A gem hidden amongst the Germans! (No offence). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  32. My boot always seems warm, bags feel warm if they've been sat on top of the battery. Noticed an annoying gurgling noise coming from the drivers door glass as the water streams off and swirls around near the mirror housing, perversely only noticeable on the motorway because the car is so quiet!

  33. Glad to see you follow the speed limit but I think 90% of the population dont on the motorway. It should really be 100mph if not more, cars have moved on, the roads have moved on but the government is still in the 60's

  34. I thought 70 mph was the speed limit on motorways not 85 mph

  35. Reset the ECU is easy. Either pull the fuse or just unclip the negative from the battery for half an hour. The ECU learns your driving style and adapts accordingly.

  36. Since this was brought up I thought I add a bit more info. If you are looking at lowering springs, try to stay away from anything that lowers more than 35mm. If you are making your standard suspension lose more than 35mm of damper stroke travel, the result will be a leaking damper fairly quickly. It also mean you can be hitting your bump stop making the ride juddery and not comfortable. If it comes down to lowering springs brand... Eibach is the best to go for. And if you want to go lower than that, go for a quality "dual perch" coilovers as this type of coilovers allows adjustment to ride hight without losing damper stroke travel.

  37. nope wont demolish any response in fact its slightly better than the standard airbox.

  38. Does that extra long intake not absolutley demolish your throttle response? :S
