  1. Not sure what you are reading but I didn't say anything of the sort. I said the stock filter isn't that restrictive so there is little to be gained by using a different filter on an unmodified engine. Never said K&N filters restrict airflow, what they don't do is filter the dirt particles as well as the OEM filter - because they are less restrictive. The drop-in filters do add a bit of noise, certainly not as much as a cone filter but they do add a little bit compared to the OEM filter.

  3. Yes, trim needs to be removed to expose the tube but perhaps not a daunting task. Have a look at the excellent photos and descriptions which may take as long as doing the actual fix.

  6. Black paint is a pig when it comes to keeping it clean,swirl marks, may be worse with a deeper black?

  7. The engine will always start soon after the system is 'Ready' from cold as it needs to warm up, it doesn't really matter what charge state the hybrid battery is in. Once warm however the engine should shut down when stationary and if you are gentle you can pull away on batteries with the petrol engine cutting in when needed.
