  3. Also, change the tyres to those which have the minimum rolling resistance, pump up the tyres to the tyre manufacturers recommended maximum pressure and make sure that you have 0/20 oil in the engine. Also, a high ambient temperature helps quite a lot, so consider moving house to sunnier climes. California is said to be nice sometimes....:):)

  7. Andy just got mine last week so getting the hang of it. However pulse and glide definitely the way to go, I have been experimenting on my first few commutes and find accelerating up past where you want to be speedwise ie 45 ish for a 40...back right off the accelerator pedal and try and keep it in EV or at least the needle in the lower/middle eco - can keep up with the traffic easily. Keep your head up, look ahead and regen whenever you can see you will need to back off. Getting between 55 and 60 mpg that way. Do have a 50 mile round trip to work and back, some b roads, some single carriageway 50's and a 6 mile dual carriageway and stop start either end of the journey. 9. Do you mean the fog lights in the bumper? If so you can get some Xenon type HID look bulbs from Ebay. Just be sure to get the right fitment. I bought some nice looking LED type which came and was the wrong conector which sucks lol.

  11. took my reflectors off 2 MOTs ago and it has passsed fine each time. I think they only check to see if they work. Also fitted bright LEDs (ebay) and that is much better but still a long way off what my mates Prius does at night.

  12. Hi Andrew and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over. We recommend you spend a couple of mins looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later I cant help with your present queries but I'm sure someone will be along ASAP. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/terms-conditions/ Regards Mike.

  13. Lexus give the following guidance, most of the tips apply to all vehicles rather than just hybrids but still useful. The one I partly disagree with is using full throttle for short bursts, you should accelerate briskly but not at full throttle. http://www.lexus.co.uk/hybrid/fuel-economy/#/HybridDrivingTips

  15. Mark, As you appear pro active and capable about forestalling problems could I suggest you check there is no rainwater ingress at the rear of your Rx. Simply open the rear most storage compartment and remove the central black plastic tray thereunder. You can then see under the two side corner trays and that is where there might be water. It can be so bad that it runs forward to both the front and rear seat wells and saturates the carpets. There are accounts of numerous causes and accompanying remedies here and on the US owners site. This I would advise all Rx owners to do.

  16. I've had it activate a few times when I'm "driving like I stole it". One scenario, on a dual carriageway, car in front was turning left. I was approaching, shall we say "quite rapidly", and was about to over take into the right hand lane. But the NX deemed it too close for comfort, slowed the car down quite abruptly, BEEP BEEP BEEP from the dash, and BRAKE!!! written on the dash. At no point do I think I was even going to come close to rear ending the car in front.

  17. Finally got it sorted this morning from the independent garage I spoke about earlier (not the trader). The garage was BMERCS in Barnet and I am so glad I went to them. They only charged me for 30mins and checked the car over to see everything was ok inc diagnostic. Just google the reviews they have got!! Sorry to go about this but I have been to con men before and know the horrible sinking feeling you get when you realize you have been done.
