  1. Driving home tonight could not work out what the rear view mirror was not dimming and then noticed I had left the little flap above the mirror, down. I am not sure whether to complain about this design fault or live with the moon blinding me at certain times of the year.

  2. After a four month wait, I picked it up yesterday. All I have to do now is work out how it all works. :)

  3. They'll bowl you over with a P/X but worth seeing what they say anyway Obviously private sale is the way to go but Im not too sure whether IS250's are in demand that much, especially with that V6 and the running costs it has. Definitely worth seeing what the dealer says, if its too low see if they'll increase or give a better deal on their car. If it doesnt work out then just sell on Autotrader

  4. I sold private, got £1750 more than px price offered, if it was a couple of hundred I'd probably px, but nearly 2k is a lot of difference

  5. If you had posted the version performed by Cliffy, I would have tracked you down. It initially failed during our smart key phase. Turning that off didn't change a thing. It's about to get dumped for a long week by the railway track in a one horse Portuguese town*. Maybe that will teach it a lesson. I might dis the battery & lock it with that long slender metal object that's hidden in the key, though I worry that on return it might not let me back in :( * The train catching method might amuse: One thing to be aware of at the station (which is unmanned) is that there is no footbridge or underpass, just a level crossing, and no indication which platform is the one for the southerly direction to Tunes. That is because the line is single track in this area, with a split into two just for the station. Trains from each direction pass here and it appears that the platform each takes depends on which reaches the station first. That means that you will need to pick a platform randomly, but keep an eagle eye out for the approach of the train and be prepared to run across the level crossing if necessary. http://ezinearticles.com/?After-the-Ecovia-Do-Litoral-Bike-Route---From-Odemira-Back-to-Faro&id=6207672

  6. Glad they fixed it, now you can worry about driving the car instead of worrying about what was going to come of it!

  7. imo the Vais units are the best for iPod in Lexus, though they do cost more than other units that simply don't work, or don't work half as well...... Have a look here, esp. at the MML unit which will work with your car......... http://www.vaistech.com .....as set out here: http://www.vaistech.com/manuals/SL3i%20SL3U%20MML%20Application%20Guide.pdf hth M I fitted the MML to my GS450, and have never looked back. There are a few limitations depending on model/age, but it will work for you, and not cause the issues you report above

  9. After some digging I've found out that the gearbox from a 3.5GDI Pajero is also compatible for this conversion. The gear ratios however are different. That Paj is a big two tonne vehicle with an engine not far off 1UZ perormance figures. So the ratios will be far better suited to my truck mated to the 1UZ. I've also sorted the tiptronic issue and that looks like a go too.

  10. As I don't own a Lexus anymore this will be my last post! This kind of bickering has plagued the Lexus forum ever since I've been a member, and I don't want to be part of it. I certainly won't be alone in saying that much "smugness" on the part of LS400 owners has always got the back up of LS430 owners, the majority of whom have not even owned one. How about getting back to what's important, being a car owners forum that offers help and advice, and remembering that all Lexus models are great cars?
