  2. I think you will find that there is a general lack of respect that runs right through our society today, mores the pity. Mike.

  3. Yes the current RX450H doesn't open windows unless you get it programmed in by Lexus. They disabled it because this happens!!

  4. The car was taken in today for the warranty fixes today. The rear leather panel was replaced, and the interior wheel arch plastic cover replaced. Car valeted again, and collected and returned by the Business manager, just the type of service to restore confidence. Thank you Lexus. David.

  6. Could be a sticky door closed switch, I had this issue on mine recently... When getting home, opening and closing the door didn't turn off the auto-lights! A quick clean of the door closed switch sorted this. On my RX300, it also beeps if I left the Sunroof or Window open when getting out and locking it without shutting everything but knowing you Piers, you probably have checked all this already!

  7. I've (touch wood) never had this problem but always run on Shell v-power or Tesco momentum (when I've saved up fuel save points which Tescos recently have stopped). Usually a mix of 3 x v-power, 1 x Momentum a month mix. We do this with all our cars. Yes, you pay more per litre BUT I swear I get at least 30miles more from a tank with high octane which off-sets the higher costs. Other things worth checking are that air filter is in good shape and MAF sensor is clean. Check coil pack connector clips are clean from corrosion and have some grease on them to keep moisture out.

  9. I think they wont change the tax band on sold cars, but they will change it on those in production. what I want to know is, who else is in on it..lol the reports in the morning said they could be other car manufactures involved.. I think all the Germans will be investigated 1st on the list will be the VAG group (Audi, Seat)

  11. I agree Mike, but there is also much more aggression, bad language and impatience generally.

  12. I have a 2006 with 84k. I have two identical key fobs. The suspension sport setting noticeably firms up the ride, it's not harsh but not that sporty either, I hardly ever use it. The normal setting gives a generally comfortable ride without being too soft, comparable to the Jaguar S-Type I had before. Yes, there's a rear blind but the only time I've used it is to check it works and when giving a gizmo tour to people new to the car. I do mainly small journeys and 21-22mpg but have seen 31-32 on a long trip. I've had the rear sticking caliper issue, both replaced at 78k. Also, an alternator problem that affected the electrics but this was fixed by an independent at low cost. Great car, can't recommend it too highly and I've owned many over the years.
