Will be making a contribution here - with photos and details as my MK3 had rust issues. Think it will be of great benefit to all of you in the community :outforcount:
I don't think I would take it...
I would open an online saver account and put the money in there - and then use it if necessary, otherwise save it.
Such add-ons always seem to have so much small print and the cynic in me says they are just commission jobs...
i left my door not fully closed at work one day,had a flat battery,i jump started it ,been fine ever since,no probs before or since ,they are bigish lights, dos'ent mean your battery faulty, you just discharged it
I paid not a lot less than this ( and that included vat ) about 2.5 years ago now and the guy said it would probably last 5 years or so ........ and coffee and biscuits too
And it of course fits the odd shape Mk3 tray ...........

Any car's interior light will stay on if the door is left ajar. They are designed that way. It can be switched off completely though, if you choose to. My LS battery once drained because of leaving the driver's door open but soon recovered after a long overnight trickle charge.
I've got an AA charger that I no longer trust. Shows green light and then when removed for five mins shows half charge. Motorcycle not Car battery. Whats to be believed - half charge me thinks and confirmed with multi meter that suggests past its sell by date. Used for tyre pump.
Ps Malc - did I read INEXPENSIVE ?
.............. and if you need a new battery then OEM Lexus/Toyota is the way to go with the Mk3
Inexpensive, fits exactly and will probably last 5 years ... together with coffee and biscuits if you're lucky !

LS 400's only flaw? It's been a regular topic on here. I never 'plipped' mine closed overnight which seemed to help. It's pity the lighter sockets aren't 'live' when parked as a plug-in trickle/solar charger would fix this.
Fitting one to battery is possible but more fiddly.
Older Audi A8s had a built-in trickle charger in the sunroof! Strangely the later ones didn't to the annoyance of a neighbour owner!

I did exactly the same thing a month ago left the rear door ajar and flat battery following morning there are three lights on and two with front door. so yes is the answer to your question.
I think your fade the light scenario is if the door as been shut ,why would it turn itself off if the cycle of events as not been completed.
Did not know that! I have actually learned a great deal from reading this forum as I am not an expert in car mechanics. It is surprising the expertise on hand for Lexus owners here - 5 star rating IMHO!
Just to add some more excitement to the mix -
HUD is available on the F-Sport. Received confirmation from Lexus UK today, however, it will be an option. They're trying to get a price for me as we speak.
Therefore a 450h F-Sport will be pushing approx £58k fully loaded with HUD, Pan roof, paint and ML
Update - Price of the full colour HUD is £995 for F-Sport
It honestly depends on the leather used. Most are using artificial leather, for example Mercedes Artico. BMW tend to use real leather (dakota) but its not very high quality, its hard and quite rough. Having said that, the nappa leather is very good.
Cheaper leather tends not to have a nice smell, high end cars will always have a nice leather smell due to the leather. However, most of the new car smell comes from adhesives and sealers which release scents into the air. They were thought to be a health risk so I think that may have caused them to crack down on it.
............ none done on my Lexuses at any time but I have had welding done on my Mazda and it's pretty painless and often at a tiny cost really ... depends who you use to do it, like any job on a car, and how extensive the rot is when it's discovered.
The problem with rot on many cars ( and I don't mean surface rust ) is that it can often eat into structural, difficult to get to areas that can and often do, make repair just so uneconomic, whatever the car and the life of the drivetrain and interior etc.

When a Lexus RX 450 driver with 250BHP under the loud pedal drives something with anything like 100BHP or more less power they maybe forgiven for thinking along those lines. However, outright power means sod all when you are hauling 2 1/4 tonnes of metal and sound deadening around with you. Power to weight ratio speaks volumes at all times. 0-60 takes a timely 7 or so seconds in a 450... I rode a 56 bhp motorcycle which was made in the early 1970s which could perform 0-60 in 5 seconds whilst still being able to top 120mph.....more than enough to lose your licence anywhere round these parts. Its all a question of what you want isn't it? Car performance is dreadful if performance is all you want to look at.
why is it dreadful on the motorways ?? my ct was always quite quiet, on the motorway you should be cruising it would only become horrible if your accelerating hard and often.
after all CT stands for Compact Tourer and thats what it does well ,if your after a sports car then you've chosen badly..
