  1. That sounds like a nasty potential safety hazard. Having looked at the Lexus Personalised settings for the 430 there is no mention of disabling the system, may be worth contacting Lexus to discuss this finger removal system.

  2. If you value your paint finish then avoid dealer washes. They use industrial strength traffic film remover applied with a gritty brush blasted off with a hugely powerful pressure washer. My f sport was covered in swirls as a result. Fortunately Lexus paint is soft enough to fairly easily polish and my paint is looking superb once more with a decent layer of wax applied. I now specifically say no to them washing it. Dealer washes are the work of the devil!! Ed.

  3. My dealer has sealed lips on the price - I said Im not paying anything over £60k for an F SportI'd be surprised if it's in high demand. Most people can't afford £70k outright or £900 a month payments. Guess we will have to see if they release the price officially on 15th September lol You don't see many £70k cars on the road at all The LS is £75k and they're having to give £10k discounts just to sell any lol

  4. I got 3 years Lexus assist, it also covered my wife and her car. I'm sure if you take it back they will clean it. My (soon to be previous) employer are based a 2 min walk from the dealer I bought my car from. When it went in for warranty work they cleaned it for me, and when I joked I'd have to bring in every couple of weeks they actually genuinely offered to wash it for free if I didn't have time and didn't mind leaving it with them for the day (at least I think she was been genuine).

  5. Lee.. long time. I personally think Toyota is going the hydrogen route. They aren't bothered about plugin apart from the Prius( the new one looks like s Mirai). The RX with this price tag is gonna tank.

  7. dont get me wrong I love the car but I use it for work it's doing 10,000 miles a year and with a young lad at home and a business to run I just don't get the time to get the little bits fixed. I aim to be there as it's always good to talk to other car enthusiasts and more than one F in the same place in the UK has to be pretty rare. I'll remind myself how to upload some photos now!

  8. I've always found a helpful method of preparing to remove sheared bolts is to heat the bolts either with a blowtorch or a cigarette lighter or even the wife's hairdryer, and then with an aerosol can of 3 in 1 oil or WD40, give the bolt a good squirt then leave for a few hours, this should help with the freeing process. Best of luck.

  9. Forget the M135i if you want a weekend toy, the reason I love my old 335i was because it was easy to use day to day, and still could deliver 90-95% of what my old DC Integra R could do on an empty B road.....If it's a weekend your after, you want something much more special. Also forget the new M3, its uses the same engine as my old E90 335i, and that came out in 2006!!! If you want a weekend you, and BMW in-line 6's do if for you, you cannot beat the CSL, and it's an appreciating asset :)

  10. Tip (if you haven't already): put the transmission in power mode and leave it there. It then becomes predictable, and with your foot as the instant gear lever. After a while there will be two brains in perfect harmony. Bliss :) I won't wax lyrical about having coilovers as well, but those and that vvt v-8 ____________ World's best 4 seater?

  11. Hey Gents, please choose some nice combos and look after them. Us lesser mortals are looking forward to relieving you of them in five years' time for a third of the price. Joking aside, you lucky lot - wish I could justify buying a brand new Lex, I have a drool each time mine goes in for a service.

  12. She used to drive an RX8, I told her that you have to rev the engine hard and let redline and make it beep every now and then or you'll damage the engine. The first time she did it she was overtaking a bus in 30 zone in 3rd gear, so doing about 80mph! I do quite like the thought of having a 135i as a weekend toy... My friend just got the new M3, it is absolutely amazing. I was really shocked by the whole experience of noise and power.

  13. Just seen you message. I've found a wiring diagram for the boot of my 90/ls400. I'll try and find if you still need it. What i remember is that the boot light is also included in the 2 connector blocks. Let me know if you still need it. I'm still trying to find another cd changer for mine.
