  1. I don't see how it matters where the content that forms the basis of discussion originates from, IMO. The comments mainly have matters with a UK aspect to them; pricing, options etc... So think they deserve a place here, in good old Blighty! ;)

  2. eBay is horrible these days. I have found, though, that you get far less hassle by selling as 'Buy It Now' than on auction - and not bowing to low offers.

  4. OK, time for an update. I took the bolt off what I believe is the heat shield in the engine bay - the vertical bolt just behind the radiator. I added a chunky washer I had lying around (from a recently extinct washing machine) and re-did the bolt. This has improved/reduced the 'engine starting rattle' a little, but not eliminated it fully. I have discovered that the 'external rattle' is something to do with the front brakes, as when going down hill the other day with the windows down (short journey, at low speeds (30-40) so seemed pointless using the aircon) I realised that the rattle stops while the brakes are gently applied. Haven't had chance to investigate this one further, but recall seeing another post about rattling brakes on here a while ago, so will track that down for starters and see what the fix was.

  5. well you see, the original poster is from Japan and he has given me most of the information to use. Other information comes from Lexus financial employee in the UK which gave me information on the cars in Austria. I can't see how its an issue to post these here - some people dont go on Clublexus as its primarily a US owners club

  7. Bought it from Chester. Had they given me my expected price for p/x I would have asked for even more and then tried to reduce the price of their car at the same time lmao

  8. Service plan - definitely. But.... not at that price. I paid £990 for 2 majors and a minor. I get a free valet every year, courtesy car, 10% off parts, labour and accessories as well as a chauffeur driven car once very year. It's been an LS600hl on both occasions!! If I bought separately it would have been £990 for 2 majors alone so I'm quite pleased. The trick is, pay monthly - I got 0% finance on the service, that way, they don't actually have all the moneyso have to give you good customer service or you can just pull it. Lexus insurance is overpriced. Any insurance company legally has to let you choose a bodyshop of your choice ie a Lexus approved bodyshop Ceramic paint sealant - no no from the dealers. Get some C quartz UK from the Internet, watch some application guide and apply it yourself. Being a new car, you won't need to polish it so you just need to give it a wash, then some IPA to wipe oils and then just apply it. It'll literally cost £36 or so + time. Be aware that ceramic paint coatings need special maintenance routines. Waxes and sealants generally dont

  9. All the above has been taken in good part by all and its raised a smile to our faces but it does just go to show how easy it is for someone to get upset and all done in innocence. Mike.
