It makes the one recently at 5k a hell of a bargain because its the same one, I sold it to a guy in Scotland who said he was helping his dad buy it as he was a lexus enthusiast and really missed his old one which he was forced to sell, because I thought it was going to an enthusiast who would continue to look after it As I had done I let it go for 4k as I was fed up of constantly changing my mind over whether to sell it or not. Low and behold 4 weeks later its now being advertised for £7k!!! If he makes £3k profit off it in 4 weeks I am definately going into the used car game.Last time I do anyone a favour for a sob story. Best of luck to the guy if he can get £7k for it, if he does I can at least take some pride in the way I looked after it for the last 10 years. Have to laugh at the best car he has ever owned line though, he hasn't had it more than 4 weeks....2 points

Ha ha, well I can draw on my pension from October. I don't want to make it look like it has a pair of rockets sticking out the back, but just want to make it look a little smarter.1 point

Had them fitted today £250 fully fitted for the pair I had a price match with Tyre fitting company in Doncaster they are quiet and seem to ride ok . I live in North Lincs area and it's very bumpy and undulating but all seem ok. Very good in the wet and it has been very wet today.have a couple of thousand miles over the next 10 days so will get a good idea of performance.1 point

I read this in the paper, what a jealous idiot. I hope he is caught and has to pay for the damage, the image is clear enough for him to be known. My dash cam switches off with the engine I cannot think of a way to make it stay on. If I had an Aston I would invest on a 360 degree system. Ed1 point

That's very kind of you to look, but I'd rather pay the extra for a new one. I know what the couriers are like and USA is a long trip for something that's seemingly a little fragile. I have already instructed and paid the Levinsonian Elves their fee and they are beavering away in the hills above Levinsonia expertly fashioning my new speaker out of lark's vomit and truffle oil. I understand they are distantly related to the endangered Bavarian Pixies that occasionally find the time to make little plastic bits for my classic 911 and bring them to Stittgart every 4 months (at a price). I will be keeping my eye on eBay to see if any cheap ML speakers come up, that way I won't be scared to turn it up above 45...1 point

Not to worry - power now restored to the DVD unit and headrest screens. Either the under passenger seat replacement fuse was not seated fully or there is/was a loose connection under the seat somewhere. Power now good and now on to the faulty DVD player now. I have ordered a replacement 13way flex ribbon cable for inside the player. Looks to be intermittently open circuit causing the dvd's to eject whenever they are pushed in. I wil let you know if it works when replaced.1 point

I tell ya what is could be.. people googling RCFs and ISFs also pop up.. now people are think "hello" whats this.. 4 door Lexus with 417bhp.. looks like Lexus had viagra in 2008.. 😂 i got mate at work and he went to the japfest on sun just gone, he said to me if i had taken the ISF it would of stood out like a sore thumb.. its rare and people are starting to talk about them more and more.. 8yrs after producing the 1st. i will be selling mine within 2 weeks if my business inestment goes through.. so PM me if anyone is looking for a white one. Its done 79k lexus history with Lex warrenty till May. Rather give my friendly LOC community 1st refusal. I think i done free advertising for Lexus in Birmingham lol, people still ask questions and are amazed why they didnt hear about these, i do still believe they wont drop less then 20k unless its over 100k miles.. not because im selling, but because i was looking for a very long time and these babys dont budge.. the more people learn about them the more they will be in demand and the more they will hold value 😉 Lets face it, reliability over a German sports car.. Vosprung Deutsch tek it to the garage.1 point

Like Phil ('The Acre') I've avoided contributing to some discussions on here because of the way some other members express their opinions. He's a very nice guy who's contributed a lot to this forum, and I'm sad that he's left with a negative impression of it.1 point

Hi Stuart I have made inquiries and have come up with this email address for you. Steve Barnes steve@locuk.co.uk Hope this helps regards Mike.1 point

Just thought I'd let you all know that it was indeed a wheel bearing, the Mrs eventually got it looked at by our local garage and they sorted it out, no more buzzing/humming ! Thanks everyone for your advice and input1 point

I'm fairly sure the owner of this forum is called Steve (not our 'own' steve2006 :) ) http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/user/1293-steve/1 point

I use the other gear selections quite often. Mostly to put myself in gear ready for the overtake move or whatever, rather than wait for the kick down to happen. Also on steep declines it can help maintain a better speed without dabbing the brakes all the time. To use the wheel buttons, you need to put the stick in the "M" position. They don't include the replacement belt cost in the 100+ service - only an inspection.1 point

Our 450h is driven without any thought for fuel consumption - not thrashed just used and enjoyed as it should be - lots of town stuff plus some faster stuff too - all in all we get around 31mpg which as Rayaan said is more than reasonable for the size, weight and performance of the vehicle. The EU tests are a nonsense and Lexus cannot be blamed for just doing what every other manufacturer does. We owned a ML320 diesel for two years - our average mpg was 21. Prior to that a Merc C180 petrol which only averaged 26mpg. I also have. An ISF so I know what low fuel consumption can really feel like but for me the RX is really good all round mix of comfort, pace and economy. Forget about trying to get 44mpg - life is too short - just enjoy what a great car you have purchased.1 point

Thanks for sharing, I haven't seen it before, as they say at a particular supermarket "Every Little Helps"1 point

Also I found out the original manufacturer is a company called Tokico, but you guessed it, they don't sell the struts or bags for the RX to the public! Humph! Still not been able to source a secondhand strut to experiment with and knowing a little more of what is involved, I won't be stripping mine just yet... I did find another image of an owner who'd chopped the top off of their air strut and replaced with an air sleeve that cost £60! The real beauty of this approach is that he can now strip the whole unit down to the shock absorber and replace it should he ever need to in the future. Genius!1 point

Remember the aircon works off the batteries, its not belt driven like normal cars.1 point

I cannot say I ever notice that but it is possible. If the battery pack get too hot it will be used less. Make sure the vents by the passenger seats aren't blocked.1 point
